The only team to never fall a spot continues their upward momentum:
1. The 😎s (MoD & DistrictTwelve )Overall Score: 74.6Detour Rank: #4 | Roadblock: #1Bonus From Leg 5: 1.4 (2nd place)Detour Results:
(Royal Seats)
Judge's Thoughts:
Nick: nice pick! I like that you guys went beyond the typical “piano ballad”. It took me a while to get into this but I can comfortably say it’s one of my favorites of the past couple years now. the best is kinda wonky but it works and Joji is just an undeniably great singer. (10/10)
Mylo: Ready for an unexpected opinion, at least from me? This is amazing and I think it definitely deserved to be a hit. It’s hard to even consider what makes this so potent, but that build-up to that excellent climax is a prime example haha. It’s also a decent fitting for a ballad, I mean it’s literally off of “Ballads 1” lol. (10/10)
Adrian: I listened to this once a long time ago and I remembered nothing about it. But listening to it again, I for some reason enjoyed it and I wasn't expecting to. Joji gives me strong Khalid vibes here with the R&B style and the vocals. I think the lyrical content here is pretty good. So, solid track overall. I don't know why I feel like I didn't like this at first. (8.5/10)
.exclusive: A wonderfully produced record, i just wish the vocals weren't muffled. (7.5/10)
Overall Score: 36
Roadblock Results:
(Sent by D12)
Judge's Thoughts:
Nick: great track! I only recently got super into it, but you guys get the benefit here of me having listened to Emotion the album like 5 times in the past week haha (RAWM is one of the weaker tracks on it though imo). it’s also a less conventional, guitary love song and instead works as a sorta “bigger” sounding love song. I do think there’s an argument that this is a “song about love” rather than a “love song”, but I’d fall more on the latter end of that argument. (6 for quality, 2.5 for theme = 8.5/10)
Mylo: Well yeah, this song is damn near perfect. Virtually perfect production, vocals and lyrics? Check check check. This is obviously also a great love song choice, and a spectacular choice overall. Well done! (7 for quality, 3 for theme, 10/10)
Anna: i actually find Carly to be a little overrated in these parts, but this song 100% deserves the hype it gets. i want someone to make me feel how this song sounds :,) (9/10)
House Lannister: The saxes felt a bit off. But when Carly starts to sing, you get it. This is what it feels like to be in love. Then the anthemic chorus hits you. The heys just add to the feeling. And the song switches it up enough in the second half of the chorus that it avoids being repetitive. I’d say this hit the theme square on the nose. And there’s a reason why so many (myself included) think this is one of the best pop songs of the 2010s. Whoever ended up with this is pretty lucky because I’m guessing there’s at least one disappointed team right now. (6.7/7 for song; 3/3 for theme; 9.7/10)
Overall Score: 37.2
Team consistency keeps staying out front. If you guys weren't frontrunners before this, you certainly are now lol. Take the winning 1.7 points and enjoy being a target~

It's our first 'underdogs', though I really don't think we can call them that anymore:2. The Sickos (@drakeisskinny & Mayman )Overall Score: 70.1Detour Rank: #5 | Roadblock Rank: #3Bonus From Last Round: 1.0 (4th Place)Detour Results: (The Streets)Judge's Thoughts:Nick: I still like this for what it is. I don’t quite jam with it as much as I did back when it was new, but it’s still a nice energetic track. also for whatever reason that sample just blends so well with the best. really good song (8.5/10)Mylo: JAM! This song, through and through, is totally a banger haha. Admittedly it has shrunk on me, I think it could’ve hit harder and maybe been less messy, but that beginning and post-chorus will forever be amazing. (9.5/10)Adrian: I used to like this more than I do now. It's still enjoyable, but I find it pretty overrated. Like I do not think it's one of the best songs of 2018. However, it has a certain energy to it that I feel a lot of modern rap music lacks, so I think it's a standout in its own genre. Drake's performance here is really good. So while I don't think it's his best song, it's one of the best things he's done in years. (7.5/10).exclusive: I love this, probably my favourite Drake song released in the past few years. (9/10)
Overall: 34.5 Roadblock Results: (Sent by Mayman)Judge's Thoughts:Nick: theme wise sure, this works well enough. quality wise, it serves as a pretty cool discovery. the verses aren’t spectacular but that chorus is sick and slick as hell. and even the verses don’t drag it down TOO much. (5.5 for quality, 3 for theme = 8.5/10)
Mylo: While we wait for Rihanna’s new music (Coming this decade, I promise!), we can remember her greats throughout her career. This is one of her lesser known gems, shame this couldn’t be a bigger deal. One of her best productions and lyrical work that’s similarly top notch. Works well with the theme too, definitely a love song albeit more of a sexual song lol. (6.7 for quality, 2.7 for theme, 9.4/10)
Anna: another song i haven't heard since it was initially popular, but this one holds the f**k up. i don't think Rihanna has ever made a song with the otherworldly vibe that this has (besides maybe Russian Roulette, this song's much darker cousin), but it's a style she does incredibly well. still pissed this was cannibalised by Taylor Swift saying you for three minutes straight. (9/10)
House Lannister: Nice guitars in the early going as RiRi is dealing with a rough kind of love. She’s begging him to take her back and make up. Her voice is solidly done, although I didn’t care for the autotune in the chorus. Let the singers show their stuff...it’s not like she needs the help. As far as the theme goes, it’s not a square fit. But it’s pretty doggone close. Not all love stories have happy endings or perfect journeys. They’re on a rough patch at the moment, but at least from Rihanna’s end, it does feel like love. Production could have been better, but it’s not a bad choice. (4.8/7 for song; 2.9/3 for theme; 7.7/10)
Overall: 34.6
After a rough start, you two have really proved yourself in these past few legs. You'll get a +1.2 bonus next round to help out with your comeback~

Are you telling me this team made the top three, and there wasn't even a Fast Forward?!3. The Caged Nooks (@doinktheclown & tanooki )Overall Score: 68.6Detour Rank: #7 | Roadblock Rank: #4Bonus From Last Leg: 1.9 (1st Place)Detour Results: (Royal Seats)Judge's Thoughts:Nick: I do like this. I think it’s pretty and gives a nice relaxing vibe. I would argue that the singers are overdoing a bit in terms of the emotion but that’s a minor gripe for all intents and purposes. but like, despite it being very good, I never really seek this one out that much (more of an Old Town Road guy) (8/10)Mylo: My first time listening to this, but it’s good as! Really a shame I haven’t heard this earlier, it’s one of her top songs I’ve heard. Maybe one day it could top Obsessed? (9.2/10)Adrian: I think Mariah Carey is really talented, but her music is not the most interesting stuff in my opinion. I do enjoy One Sweet Day though. Maybe not to the extent of most people, but there's no denying that it's a really well-written song. Mariah sounds good and I really like Boyz II Men on here. Overall, it's a beautiful song and it fits perfectly in this category, so I give it credit for that. (9/10).exclusive: Despite the great vocals and lovely message, not one of my favourites on Daydream, both artists have superior material. (7/10)Overall: 33.2Roadblock Results: (Sent by Tanooki)Judge's Thoughts:Nick: the far superior “Lovesong/Love Song” of the round. I think I prefer “Friday I’m in Love” but this is still a nice, chill, sweet love song. I dig it! (6 for quality, 3 for theme = 9/10)
Mylo: Man, for the second song from this band I’ve ever heard, these guys have an excellent track record! This is undoubtedly the weaker out of two songs, despite it having the more obvious title between them. Good enough but not excellent, thankfully y’all got full points for theme (5.5 for quality, 3 for theme, 8.5/10 overall)
Anna: now if someone were to tell me that The Cure would start writing pop songs, this is the direction i'd assume they would take. the transition from sad to hopeful feels very natural here, especially given the darker undertones of the lyrics, and it manages to remain somewhat interesting musically while being one of the simplest songs The Cure has ever made. it does feel a bit overplayed, but it's for a reason, and while it's not quite my favorite song here, it's certainly the one that resonates the most with me. (7.5/10)
House Lannister: Another gamble here, but the synths aren’t bad here and Robert Smith does keep your attention. The lyrics are solid, focusing on the subject. There’s a bit of repetition in the chorus, but thanks to some switching up the last line, it’s not glaringly obvious. As for the theme, you nailed it. This is how you do it, people. This is LOVE. It’s an unconventional choice, but my rock roots say it’s a good one (5.5/7 song; 3/3 theme; 8.5/10 my score)
Overall: 33.5
You two have really made the most of getting saved by that NEL, and you'll get a +1 point bonus to continue to help you out next round~

A pretty solid improvement here:4. Team Nameless (Leo ✔ & AmazDrag)Overall Score: 68.4Detour Rank: #2 | Roadblock Rank: #7Bonus From Last Leg: 0.2 (8th Place)Detour Results: (Royal Seats)Judge's Thoughts:Nick: this is pretty cool. I’m not sure I’ve heard it before but I like it a fair amount. Whitney Houston has a damn great voice and she shows it off super well here. I also think the best of this song is pretty cool. (9/10)Mylo: Kinda unpopular, I prefer this to IWALY. I think this is more effective as it uses more techniques to make the final product. The hook is a little funny looking back, it feels like I’ve heard that line twenty times over but that production is pretty sweet~ (8.7/10)Adrian: The first word that comes to mind when I think of this song is "iconic". I think I would consider Whitney Houston my favorite female vocalist of all time, and frankly I think she objectively has one of the best voices ever. This song shows that as her talent shines bright and it's just an amazing track all the way through. It's deservingly one of her most iconic songs and it's why I love Whitney as an artist. I would say this is one of my favorites from her, but so much of her work is amazing just like this song. (10/10).exclusive: One could argue that IWALY is the greatest song form The Bodyguard, but I beg to differ. This track offers far more depth and personality. One of my favourite Whitney tracks to date. (10/10)
Overall: 37.2Roadblock Results: (Sent by Julien)Judge's Thoughts:Nick: easily one of my favorite songs ever (even if it might not even be in my top 2 from Elton). Bernie Taupin just has this amazing way with words and Elton John’s singing/musical talents compliment the uniquely lovely lyrics super well. I could rave about this song for hours but I’ll leave it here for now ~ (7 for quality, 3 for theme = 10/10)
Mylo: I appreciate this song a lot more than I like it. Elton John has great vocals which is really the best aspect for me. The lyrics are a little off putting at points. That “If I was a sculptor” part gave me second hand embarrassment lol. Otherwise, totally fine song that I do respect quite a lot. (4.5 for quality, 2 for theme, 6.5/10)
Anna: endearing, but a bit dull and schmaltzy. that said, i do have a certain amount of respect for how complex compositionally a lot of Elton John's songs are while still being poppy and easy to get into. honestly my reaction has more to do with having a low tolerance for 70s cheese then anything else. (6/10)
House Lannister: Another piano driven ballad, this time from the Rocketman himself. Elton has a nice voice. Too bad, it feels more like this song is talk sung than anything. I mean it is clear enough on the meaning and intentions of its lyrics, but I think the delivery is a bit off to be honest. As for the theme, this does a nice job of displaying true love in the character of a poor man who all he can offer this other person is this song and those lyrics. So I think this fits the theme perfectly. Not bad, but it could have been better. (5/7 for song; 3/3 for theme; 8/10)
Overall: 30.5
A nice showing after staying in the middle to end of the pack the last few legs, and you'll get a +0.8 bonus next leg to help continue your breakout.

Locking in another solid placement it's...5. Team Jeff (singingrulebritannia &jamesflame )Overall Score: 68Detour Rank: #3 | Roadblock Rank: #9Bonus From Last Leg: 0.8 (5th Place)Detour Results:
(Royal Seats)Judge's Thoughts:Nick: iconic! one of the greatest compositions ever. I love how tense it is and the build up all throughout hits hard. it’s hard to describe this well (not great with classical music) but it’s simply an incredible composition (10/10)Mylo: Instrumentals aren’t usually my thing but this works pretty well. I can imagine this being a great study song or like a mood song. Cool pick, points for creativity and going for the classical side! (8.5/10)Adrian: Well this is a classical piece and therefore fits the category. I'm not the best judge when it comes to classical pieces like this as classical music is not entirely my cup of tea. But it's a genre I have a ton of respect for. This specific piece is probably not something I will ever come back to, but it sounded really good and I have respect for the group who decided to send something of the classical genre instead of just another ballad. Bold move that will hopefully pay off. (9/10).exclusive: I really don't know much about classical music, but I think this a wonderfully piece. These suspense driven composition just does it for me . (9/10)Overall: 36.5Roadblock Results:
(Sent by Gates)Judge's Thoughts:Nick: it feels wrong to call Bad Romance a creative pick. but though this doesn’t exactly sound like a love song in the traditional sense (and as such I can anticipate some judges lowering its score) I think it speaks to a less happy and more interesting form of love, the “rebellious love”. super solid pick guys! (6.5 for quality, 3 for theme = 9.5/10)
Mylo: Iconic to all extents haha, this song jams! It is certainly out there and in your face at points but that thudding production is too irresistible lol. My question comes theme wise; I’m not sure this is quite the angle I’d have expected haha. It’s about love I guess, I can’t really remove that many points, but Lady Gaga really sounds like she’s about to rip this guy’s face off. Love can be funny like that~ (6.5 for quality, 1.8 for theme, 8.3/10)
Anna: fun fact: my fifth grade class did a flash mob (remember those?) to this song way back when. i actually haven't really heard this song since then, and i was surprised at how badly the production aged. that said, it's still enjoyable in an "of its time" sort of way and Gaga packs some serious heat. honestly miss having a pop star that was as wild and unpredictable as she was. (6/10)
House Lannister: On to the synths as Mama Monster gets off to a strong start with her vocals. I have to admit this is pretty catchy. Her vocals stay strong, but I do feel like repetition starts to set in after a while. Still some decent lines (I didn’t notice that three lines in a row all referred to Hitchcock films) keep this on my good graces. This however seems less like a love song to me. It sounds more like how she would be willing to do and be all these things for him but he’s not returning the favor. Either it’s because he doesn’t know or because he’s rejected her already. I’ll give you some credit because it is a love of some type, but I can’t give you full credit. Sorry. I do enjoy this one, but I don’t think this fit as well as it could have. (5.2/7 for song; 1.7/3 for theme; 6.9/10)
Overall: 30.7
You guys took a risk and it paid off! Turns out the basic route isn't always the way to go . +0.6 bonus for next leg~

Tasteful:6. #TEAMTASTE (SHOOTER & surfy )Overall Score: 66.4Detour Rank: #8 | Roadblock Rank: #2Bonus From Last Leg: 0 (9th Place)Detour Results: (Royal Seats)Judge's Thoughts:Nick: this is pleasant I suppose. I don’t find it particularly interesting but it’s not a bad listen at all. (6.5/10)Mylo: Funhouse is one of my favourite albums of all-time, and this is one of my favourites off of it. P!nk’s best songs have always been her heartfelt ballads for me, the ones where the emotion is real and deep, this song does just that. Even the title line is such a terrifyingly sad image, throwing glitter in the air to shine down while your life is in ruins. Great pick! (9.7/10)Adrian: I'm not as familiar with this song as I am with a lot of P!nk's other songs from this era. But it's really beautiful. I find that when P!nk does ballads, they usually turn out really well just like with this one. Even the newer ballads like 90 Days and Love Me Anyway sound just as beautiful. This one has really nice lyrics as well as good vocals. So yeah, I thoroughly enjoy it. (9.5/10).exclusive: A decent song, but not necessarily favourite of mine. The climax doesn't do anything for me sadly. (6/10)Overall: 31.7Roadblock Results: (Sent by Surf)Judge's Thoughts:Nick: jam! I like songs about pushing through the day/week (hello It’s Five O’Clock Somewhere) and I think this fits into that category perfectly. also this dude just has SUCH a nice voice my god. I gotta check out more from The Cure, they seem like a band I’d dig. (7 for quality, 3 for theme = 10/10)
Mylo: I’m listening on a Saturday, but does it matter when this song is universally awesome? Another discovery but such a beautiful one, cute and sounds like it should be behind a cheesy 80s movie in the BEST way. This is one of those iconic scenes, and this song totally fits. (6.6 for quality, 3 for theme, 9.6/10)
Anna: of all the people who shouldn't be able to randomly score pop hits, you'd think the OG goths would be one. however, they wear the sound shockingly well, with Robert Smith's incredibly emotive voice doing a lot of the heavy lifting. if i'm in the mood for The Cure i'm probably gonna go for some of their darker stuff over this, but it's a fun poppy detour that still sound fresh today. (7/10)
House Lannister: Alright, this is a bit more unconventional. But Robert Smith’s vocals are smooth and the guitars keep things moving. A bit repetitious, but otherwise solid. Wasn’t sure how this fit the theme until I saw the post-second chorus part. And it makes sense. This captures the vibes of happiness that often occur when one is in love. Even though it’s only one day of the week. I did take a bit off because I don’t think you can be in love only one day a week, but it’s not much. You took a risk here, but I think it paid off (5.3/7 song; 2.8/3 theme; 8.1/10)
Overall: 34.7
Solid showing, you'll get a +0.4 bonus next leg ~

We're already at the final three! Next team up at the mat is...7. The Tomato Haterz Squad (BB🌕 & walt91)Overall Score: 63.1Detour Rank: #9 | Roadblock Rank: #5Bonus From Last Leg: 1.2 (3rd Place)Detour Results: (The Streets)Judge's Thoughts:Nick: banger! that flute line mixed with the beat just sounds so damn perfect. and that chorus is one of the most infectious things I’ve heard in a minute. this one definitely deserved to do better in the states (9.5/10)Mylo: Hopping out of the basic hole for a bit, this song is one of my favourites of 2018. Rocky is far from one of my favourite artists, but between No Limit, Good For You and this he has certainly got a special place in my heart. I don’t know what to tell you, he sounds excellent and that flute line rocks! (9.8/10)Adrian: Yeah I'm unsurprisingly not a fan of this. I will admit that the chorus is decently catchy. But I'm not a fan of this kind of production and I never have been. I can respect the song for what it is and I certainly get the appeal, but it's just not for me. (3.5/10).exclusive: The best thing about this song is is the nice beat, but even that doesn't do much honestly. (6/10)Overall: 28.8Roadblock Results: (Sent by Walt)Judge's Thoughts:Nick: I mean like yeah this is THE obvious choice for this theme. I won’t lie I’ve been digging the Mendes version more as of late but this is still a very good cut. it’s sweet but I think the song feels more full as a duet. love that instrumental though. (6 for quality, 3 for theme = 9/10)
Mylo: I LOVE this song but I’ll be honest it may be shrinking on me fast lol. It’s that chorus, it’s just too spread out and lacks that proper oomph to hit the heights I know Taylor is capable of. I mean, it’s still like a 9.8/10 lol. Theme wise you get every mark~ (6.9 for quality, 3 for theme, 9.9/10)
Anna: while in retrospect this was probably a bad single choice, it's certainly not a bad song. Taylor uses being a total f**king horse girl to her advantage here, and her rich, descriptive songwriting adds a lot. that being said, it's the type of song i have no use for if i'm not in a schmaltzy mood, and it also reminds me of my Swiftie ex, while unavoidably clouds my enjoyment of it at least somewhat. (6/10)
House Lannister: I should warn you that I’m a closet Swiftie...alright, secret revealed. The drums move this slow moving song as Taylor takes the spotlight with her vocals. There’s a bit of repetition in places, but this is a good fit for her considering I think Wildest Dreams might be the peak of her pop output. As for the theme, this is a bit obvious. But it does hit squarely on what love is and that is what we’re looking for here. Well done on this part. An obvious choice, but a solid one. (5.2/7 for song; 3/3 for theme; 8.2/10)
Overall: 33.1
Definitely not your best showing, but not a game ending one either. However, everytime you seem to be in the lead you get another bad leg that puts you in the dreaded bottom 3! Be careful with your consistency guys... You'll get a +0.2 bonus next round~

We're at the final two. One of these teams is definitely safe, the other not. The final team who's in to the next leg is:
oh dear...8. The Optimistic Cockroaches ( samo🦕 & willapted33)Overall Score: 62.2Detour Rank: #6 | Roadblock Rank: #8Bonus From Last Leg: 0.6 (6th Place)Detour Results: (Royal Seats)Judge's Thoughts:Nick: this one hits pretty hard. it’s like so damn simple but also so emotional. The lyrics are also pretty damn solid and fairly unique I might say? I’d also be remised not to mention Adele, who gives probably of my favorite performances from her. great track! (10/10)Mylo: Beautiful and haunting tune, I’ve loved this upon first listen. It’s an obvious choice, and as such I’m kind of happy it’s out now and can’t be used later haha, but if it had to be used now is the time. Funnily enough, this is almost both a ballad *and* a classic song. Smart choice~ (10/10)Adrian: I probably hold the unpopular opinion for thinking this is one of Adele's more overrated songs. Like I adore the other singles from this album. But this one I remember hearing all the time and it kind of got on my nerves at some point. However, putting that aside, I think it's objectively a really nice piano ballad and the song is beautifully written. So I'll be nice to it even though it's not something I ever come back to. (8/10).exclusive: I never really got they hype over this track when Adele has so many more superior ballads; this is more on the boring side. (6/10)Overall: 34Roadblock Results: (Sent by Samo)Judge's Thoughts:Nick: man I just do not like Christina Aguilera. she oversings literally everything and it sounds so bad. that’s basically the only though I have on this otherwise thoroughly unremarkable love song, aside from it having nice lyrics (3 for quality, 3 for theme = 6/10)
Mylo: Ehhhh this is okay? It’s sweet enough and has its place but I think this idea has been done and been done better. I honestly may prefer Accelerate to this lol, but this is totally decent. (3.5 for quality, 2.5 for theme, 6 overall)
Anna: this one actually takes a fairly unique lyrical approach to a cliche topic, so points for that. musically it's nothing special, although it had a nice build throughout, especially leading into the final chorus. i wouldn't seek it out, but it's cute. (6.5/10)
House Lannister: The piano background in the beginning is sparse, but it causes you to listen to Christina’s solid voice. The lyrics are fine, as it does convey a feeling of love and a loss of control. The vocal pyrotechnics at the end feel a tad unnecessary, but I’ll admit that they are well done. It’s not a perfect fit, theme wise, as it sounds more like something where they’re talking about marriage already. Almost like something you would hear during a marriage ceremony or reception. But I’m not going to take much off because it does sound like a love song. This is a nice discovery. (6.3/7 for song; 2.8/3 for theme; 9.1/10)
Overall: 27.6
Despite being pegged as frontrunners early on, you guys have been slipping lately, most notably this leg. You roaches were very close to being squished. No bonus but at least you're still in it?

All good things must come to an end... or will they?9. The Rock Lovers (@jadenlefranks & shruggie)Overall Score: 58.6Detour Rank: #1 | Roadblock Rank: #9Bonus From Last Leg: 0.4 (7th Place)Detour Results: (Royal Seats)Judge's Thoughts:Nick: I like this more than I remembered. chorus isn’t my jam but I think the rest of the song is weirdly catchy for this type of song lol. The best is all nice and punchy, solid solid song. (8/10)Mylo: @ leonagwen ‘s theme song! I love this, even as a little kid. Imagine 5-year-old me bopping along to this, this was my jam in the day! Smart pick, it also radiates a ‘classic’ sound while being a ballad (9.8/10)Adrian: I honestly think Bleeding Love is one of my favorite songs of all time. Like I just can't find any flaws here. This song is fantastic the way it tells a story of someone experiencing emotional pain from a relationship, yet they continue to love the other person and accept the pain. And the way it was executed, I can feel the lyrics and imagine myself in that kind of situation, and not very many songs do that for me. Leona Lewis also has a beautiful voice and that chorus just hits me hard every time. I dare say this song is perfection from start to end. (10/10).exclusive: A beautiful track indeed. Leona Lewis proves that she's a force to be reckoned with in this immaculate track. (10/10)Overall: 37.8Roadblock Results: (Sent by Shruggie)Judge's Thoughts:Nick: literally this isn’t a love song. outside of the title, nothing about it implies “love”, instead its like against love songs and the dude asking for a love song. the song also happens to be pretty damn bad. (2 for quality, 0 for theme = 2/10)
Mylo: Weird it took me this long to properly take in this song, but I’m finally on the train! Sorry to disappoint Glove, I find this fun and snarky in all the right ways. Sara sounds happy, despite the situation, and I adore these lyrics. They just all connect for me. Theme-wise it’s a stretch though. It’s *about* a love? I mean, the nerd in me kinda wants to give this 3/3 just because they did literally get a ‘love song’ but that’s sketchy as lol. 1.7 is my compromise (6.7 for quality, 1.7 for theme, 8.4/10)
Anna: meanwhile, this wasn't *quite* as bad as i remember it being. but it's damn close. Sara Bareilles may legitimately be one of my least favorite artists of all time, and this song is a prime example of why, combining insufferable smugness with insufferably generic adult contemporary instrumentation. the one nice thing i have to say about it is that there was some surprisingly slick guitar work buried in the mix that i didn't pick up on until now. that, and it's still better then Brave. (2/10)
House Lannister: Good thing Glove Slap isn’t reviewing this one. The piano starts us out as Sara finds things out of control at the beginning. She has a nice voice and uses it. There are some points where it repeats itself too much, but it plainly and earnestly delivers what she claims she doesn’t want to write. The delivery is what makes this work. This feels like the Pulse version of Set It Up, a Netflix film is ultimately about two people uniting romantically even though the plot is about them trying to set up their bosses so they can relax more at work. She claims it’s not a love song...but it is. She’s not fooling anyone, and neither are you with your selection. You’re getting a perfect score when it comes to the theme. Yeah, this might have been an obvious selection. But it does fit. (5/7 for song; 3/3 for theme; 8/10)
Overall: 20.4
Despite finishing in first for the detour, you guys blew the roadblock big time, and unfortunately you hit the mat in dead last. You guys have been a blast to have on the show, and you shouldn't be disappointed at your showing at all! You beat four other teams and made it just about to the halfway mark.
Unfortunately, this was an elimination leg and you have been eliminated from the race. Sorry guys, better luck next time~

Leg 7: Berlin & StockholmChallenge #1: Detour (Berlin)What is a detour? In these challenges, two themes will be available, and teams will choose to send a song for the one they feel more confident in. Be sure to specify which theme you are sending forDetour Theme: Culture Hit or Big SplitCulture Hit: Germany borders nine other countries, meaning it’s surrounded by many different cultures. For this detour, you must send a song that combines two or more different musical genres/styles together.ORBig Split: Berlin used to be split into East and West Berlin following World War 2, however it was rejoined in the ’90s with the fall of the Berlin Wall. For this detour, you must send a song from a group who disbanded or went on hiatus but rejoined.Challenge #2: Roadblock (Stockholm)What is a roadblock? In these challenges, only one member of the team can come up with a song to send. No consulting. You'll be on the honor system here. Send in your group pm who will do this road block. They will then without consulting their teammate see the theme and send the song in individual pms. tl;dr only one person sends a song, pick who that is in the group pms, then and only then they see the theme
TWIST: Yield VoteEvery team MUST vote for another team to yield. If your team does not, it will be counted as a vote for your own team. Whichever team gets the most votes will receive a -5 penalty in the leg. This could be your last chance to take out a big threat, so choose wisely. Feel free to discuss who should be yielded/make your cases in the thread, but be warned that all votes will be made public.
Consult with your teammate and get your songs in within 36 hours or else your team will NOT have a song in that category and will get an automatic 0/10. Remember that you will be receiving a bonus based on how well you placed overall last week. You're always welcome to ask me and Mylo any questions you have! Good luck everyone!

This Yield Vote should be interesting hehehe. Time to be evil!
If there's a tie for most votes, ALL teams with the most votes receive the minus 5. I'd recommend considering that in your vote...

here's out exit interview with @jadenlefranks & shruggiehow do you feel about your time in the race?
Jadenlefranks: I think we did good. We didn't place high but we stayed around for a reasonable time so that's cool. I also discovered a lot of great music :)
Shruggie: This was honestly longer than expected. Considering there were almost no events where I had to get rock songs involved, the progress Jaden and I made was impressive.
do you think you could've/should've done anything different?
Jadenlefranks: I don't think I should've done anything different except do the roadblock for this leg lol. Shrug you did your best :)
Shruggie: Yeah that "love song" even was pretty tough for me. Believe it or not, I nearly sent a Simple Plan song! But now that I think of it, I should've relooked before I sent.
any predictions?
Jadenlefranks: I think mod and d12 will win ;)
Shruggie: The podium: 1. Mod/District 2. BB/Walt 3. Idk, my best guess is Drake/Mayman
