We're full circle with the first team to check in:
Overall Score: 74.8 Roadblock Rank: #2 | Detour Rank: #1 Bonus from Leg 2: 0.0 (8th place)
Detour Results:
(Big Split)
Judges' Thoughts:
Nick: its no “Heart of Glass” but this is still an incredibly solid track. Its got a nice punchy chorus and some great vocals. I do think this has less replay value than some of their other tracks, hence why its not getting a *super* high score, but still, really good pick 8.5/10
Mylo: This is one of the best the previous century had imo. Spectacular from start to end, Blondie really brought their best here. The lead vocalist is also one of my favourites, her tone and style is nothing short of impressive! Very very smart pick~ (10/10)
Jaden: I absolutely loved this upon my first listen and I’m gravitating to it the more I listen to it. It is a perfect blend of sounds. I didn’t know this was the biggest song of its year and one of the biggest of its decade! I love how the instrumental sounds soft yet it has a punch to it. Definitely something I’ll come back to. Good job! (Song: 9/10 total)
Ty: 9.5 This song has that groove that keeps you coming back to it. I actually did’t know this song is by Blondie. It was used by a Japanese game show that I grew up watching. So there’s some extra points to that nostalgic punch.
Overall: 37 Roadblock Results:
(Sent by Will)
Judges' Thoughts:
Nick: jam! Kim Petras may have questionable choices in terms of her collaborators but this is just such a great track. I really have nothing to say about it beyond the fact that it is peak innocent pop 7 for quality, 3 for theme = 10/10
Mylo: Kim Petras killed it, a sweet innocent bop with some fun production. Those drum hits are weirdly so smooth and aren’t too aggressive or scratchy! Cool song and fitting pick~ (6.8 for quality, 2.5 for theme, 9.3 overall)
Kim: Song: 7/7 | Theme: 2/3 | Overall: 9/10 The taste jumped out with this one! Kim Petras delivers beat, vocals, catchy hook and a nice music video, too! I don’t want to break any hearts, but this is still not perfectly on-theme for me. So I’ll steal a point from there.
Shruggie: Ah yes, this! Hearing this really makes me want to hear more Kim Petras because this and I Don't Want It All are the only songs I've heard from her so far. Overall it's a perfect song, and as for the theme, there are a few points where the synth seems a bit out of place, but yeah, it gets a high score from me. (7/7 for song, 2.5/3 for theme, 9.5 overall)
Overall: 37.8
Another comeback, you guys came from last to first! Well done, your second placing at the top and hopefully for you not your last~ 1.5 points and a congratulations are in order.

after a slight misstep looks like you two are back (nearly) on top2. The Tomato Haterz Squad (BB🌕 & walt91 )Overall Score: 72.6Detour Rank: #4 | Roadblock Rank: #1Bonus From Leg 6: +0.2Detour Results:
(Big Split)
Judge's Thoughts:
Nick: this is pretty cool track. i find the chorus and verses to be a little too sonically disconnected for my liking, but as separate things they’re both real good. Also that guitar solo is everything (8.5/10)
Mylo: I do love this song but my old crush that didn’t like me back also loves it so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Nah I do still love this song, it has one of Gwen’s best performances and the mixing is very well done here. (9/10).
Ty: A song that aged like a fine wine. Gwen is not a vocal beast but she made this song as relatable as it is. (9/10)
Jaden: The tune is absolutely a familiar one. For being a radio smash, it was never allowed on the Hot 100, which is weird. Although that means nothing in this context, it’s certainly interesting. I admire the instrumentation in the middle of the song and the multiple build ups this song contains. A good, but not great track. (7.5/10)
Overall: 34
Roadblock Results:
(Sent by BB)
Judge's Thoughts:
Nick: this is exactly the type of carefree, clean stuff I was expecting for this category. and I like the song well enough as well. It’s not something I actively seek out a lot, but whenever I do it’s always a pleasant listen. very good instrumentation (6/7 for quality, 3/3 for theme = 9/10)
Mylo: It was unlikely that this excellent song wasn’t showing up at some point throughout this competition. I have almost no complaint, every individual and collected element of this song is a positive, it’s like an intentionally manufactured song. It’s also clean in all senses, lyrics, tone and definitely sound through the immaculate audio. (6.9 for quality, 3 for theme, 9.9/10)
Kim: Wow, this song takes me back in time. Stellar production on this, there’s a reason it won a Grammy. Jess Glynne’s raspy voice is just that much perfect. I will say though, probably because of the music video, it feels more chaotic than not — more Tokyo, less Stockholm in that regard. (Song: 7/7 | Theme: 2.5/3 | 9.5/10)
Shruggie: Excellent pick here! Some really good production from the 90s, and the performers do very well here. And I don't see any faults with the song being "dirty" so this get full marks for theme from me. (7/7 for song, 3/3 for theme, 10/10)
Overall: 38.4
congrats on bouncing back this leg. you two *almost* got yielded, but thankfully for your sakes you were able to avoid it and take home a solid placement here. you'll get a +1.0 bonus next round

This next team has peaked harder than Katy Perry's career:
Overall Score: 69.7 Roadblock Rank: #5 | Detour Rank: #5 Bonus from Leg 2: 1.7 (1st place)
Detour Results:
(Big Split)
Judges' Thoughts:
Nick: One of the most legitimately fun songs ever made. That baselines is also sorts of funky and groovy and Andre 300 delivers a stellar performance on this. Probably one of the most quintessential party songs of the last few decades 10/10
Mylo: Weirdly, this song is far better in memory than when I actually listen to it. I hope it’s not just me who experiences that lol. This is definitely fine, and maybe good in some ways, but certainly not amazing? I prefer Roses and Ms Jackson to this honestly, but this is still cool enough. (7.5/10)
Jaden: This track is reminiscent of what I’d listen to. This song has a great flow. From start to finish it sounded so smooth. I like the harmonization but I don’t like how the guy speaks a lot as the song progresses. (Song: 7/10)
Ty: 8.5 Still a cookout staple. Could’ve been higher but I’m kinda over it at the moment.
Overall: 33 Roadblock Results:
(Sent by MoD)
Judges' Thoughts:
Nick: sure it fits the theme as a slick innocent pop track. but like that the same time, I guess I don’t find it all that interesting? like sure it’s a pleasant listen with a cool chorus but it’s not really something I ever really feel like listening to. 4.5 for quality, 3 for theme = 7.5/10
Mylo: Yeah I still adore this. I think Physical is the closest Dua will ever get to topping this masterpiece, perfect from start to end without requiring deep analysis. I was worried initially it wouldn’t pass the ‘cleanness’ test but I actually think a parent would be okay with their children listening to this, it’s sweet and blindly innocent (7 for quality, 3 for theme, 10 overall)
Kim: Song: 6/7 | Theme: 2/3 | Overall: 8/10 Ah, throwing it back to Dua Lipa’s amateur hours! Her debut single didn’t click with me until after the album was released. I’m not a fan of the vocal production on this one, so sonically I would consider it far from clean. I’m just glad Dua’s grown SO much as an artist. Sorry babes, this is not the one.
Shruggie: Ooooh, Dua Lipa. While she now is one of my favourite artists in the mainstream right now, back then my relationship with her was rather complicated. However, you guys were smart enough to choose this song, as this is one of the better songs from 2015-16 Dua Lipa for what I've heard. As well, I don't see any problem with the song being dirty, so it gets full marks for theme. (6.5/7 for song, 3/3 for theme, 9.5 overall).
Overall: 35
Slight dip but really nothing to be all too concerned about lol. Still top 5 mainstays, you've earned 0.8 points.

they tried to get you but you showed them!4. The Sickos (@drakeisskinny & Mayman) Overall Score: 69.2 (-5 Yield Penalty)Detour Rank: #2 | Roadblock Rank: #3Bonus From Leg 6: +1.2 (2nd Place)Detour Results:
(Big Split)
Judge's Thoughts:Nick: iconic! like doesn’t everyone love this song? Every single aspect of it seems to be thoroughly imbedded in popular culture, and for good reason! Basically everything here is awesome. Great pick! (10/10)Mylo: Classic~ Not much to say, love the lyrics and the chorus is very smooth and melodically pleasing. I appreciate the sentiment of the song more than anything, surely we could use a few more songs criticising the scrubs of the world? (8.5/10)Ty: Gotta give it up to my girl Tiny and Kandi for writing this impeccable Urban-pop jam. It really never grows old! (10/10)Jaden: I love the lowkey feeling this song conveys through its production and vocals. Their voices sound very good together. Although it feels cohesive and flows well, it feels a bit repetitive. Nonetheless, the song is an earworm. Since I’ve initially heard it it’s been in my head nonstop playing. I was familiar with the group since my parents adore them but I didn’t hear anything of theirs until now. (7.5/10)Overall: 36Roadblock Results: (sent by DIS)Judge's Thoughts:Nick: clean af in terms of sound. though I can’t give it a perfect 3/3 for theme as there’s some lines that are (admittedly opaque) sexual references. that said the song is so damn good, probably my favorite Taylor hit. (7 for quality, 2 for theme = 9/10)
Mylo: I LOVE this song from front to back but I’ll say it straight: I don’t think this fits the theme. Sound wise it’s fine, but I definitely think this is not one of the better choices of a ‘clean’ song. It’s a bit of cheap move, and I hope this team switches it up next time haha. (7 for quality, 1 for theme, 8/10)
Kim: This never goes out of style *chuckles* From the moment 1989 leaked dropped, this has been one of my favorites / my favorite track on the album. The bass line still turns me on whenever I hear it. Swift’s storytelling and descriptive imagery is spot on. It was co-written and produced by three Swedish legends, which makes me even more confident in my decision to say this is a perfect pick. (Song: 7/7 | Theme: 3/3 | 10/10)
Shruggie: So there are haters of this? What a shame. If anything, this is probably Taylor's best song from 1989. There are people saying it sounds like a Carly Rae Jepsen song, and after a few listens, I've noticed it! As for everything else, it's pristine, colourful production, catchy lyrics and Taylor Swift actually manages not to be irritating, so that's another perfect score for theme. (7/7 for song, 3/3 for theme, 10/10)
Not even a -5 penalty could slow you guys down that much (you would've been in a super close 2nd place had it not been for the yield)! +0.6 bonus for next round

Overall Score: 68.8 Roadblock Rank: #6 | Detour Rank: #3 Bonus from Leg 2: 0.6 (5th place)
Detour Results:
(Big Split)
Judges' Thoughts:
Nick: I vastly prefer this to Zombie. It’s still not like my favourite thing ever but its a very solid rock adjacent track. Some really solid guitar riffs and a great vocal performance, what more do ya need? 8.5/10
Mylo: While definitely out of my usual style, I liked this a decent amount! I like the guitar work and the layering of vocals comes together pretty well. Interesting pick, I like the lack of conventionality with this choice! (8.2/10)
Jaden: This is the kind of music I would hear in my most beautiful, enchanting deep- sleep dreams. One of the most alluring songs I’ve heard in awhile, it is, truthfully, impossible to ignore. Listening with headphones on full volume is a hypnotising experience, and between the soft, eerie but dreamy vocals, the dazzling guitar and drums, I’d give this 11/10 if I could. (Song: 10/10)
Ty: 8.5 A cute, nostalgic song. I grew up listening to Faye Wong’s cover and I actually prefer it over the Cranberries’ original.
Overall: 35.2 Roadblock Results:
(Sent by Jamesflame)
Judges' Thoughts:
Nick: this feels pretty slick and clean, so theme points for you. it’s also fairly groovy and a pretty nice listen. I’m not sure if I’ve heard this before, but it feels like something I’ll revisit in the future. thanks for the discovery! 6.5 for quality, 3 for theme = 9.5/10
Mylo: Another song that seems almost indescribably great, Ocean Drive has a groove that is unbeaten by any song at the time. It didn’t hold up to overplay that well to me, hearing it now makes it sound so comfortable and in place that the songs relaxed vibe works against it partially for me. Alas, it’s still a solid song that definitely deserved better in the US (6.5 for quality, 2 for theme, 8.5 overall)
Kim: Song: 4/7 | Theme: 1/3 | Overall: 5/10 We should keep our oceans clean, yes. But driving by it isn’t gonna do it sweetheart. The vocals on this one are outright annoying, and it lacks the smoothness in the production that would make it at least sonically clean. It’s unfortunately going to be a skip from me.
Shruggie: Alright I only heard this song once but I can pretty much come to the conclusion that this song is perfect in every ground and makes me want to dance. It might burn on me after a few more listens but for now it's getting a perfect score. As for the theme, there's the "devil" being mentioned a few times, but I think it helps the purpose here (7/7 for song, 3/3 for theme 10 overall).
Overall: 33
Three consecutive #5 placings, well done! Just be warned, the finale only fits three teams so you need to move it up sooner rather than later haha. 0.4 points for you~

not your best showing, but also not your worst6. The Caged Nooks (@doinktheclown & tanooki) Overall Score: 64Detour Rank: #8 | Roadblock Rank: #4Bonus From Last Leg: +1 (3rd Place)Detour Rank:(Culture Hit)Judge's Thoughts:Nick: sending an 8 minute Metallica song is ballsy as fuuuuck so massive props there. I do think the blend of the metal elements with the orchestral instruments is pretty sick. Metallica’s never been my j
am but like their combo with the SFSO just works man. I’m a fan! (8.5/10)Mylo: My first reaction was to simply say “It’s not for me”. Like I don’
t think anyone even remotely expected me to enjoy this, so I’ll try to be a bit more objective and pull away from my own usage for this song and see the appeal. Honestly though, it did pleasantly surprise me by being more controlled and structured than I expected a live Metallica song to be haha. I don’t think the second half of the song is nearly as strong as the first, but overall this has its place, even if not with me. (7/10)Ty: Metal really isn’t my cup of tea, but I surprisingly enjoyed this song enough to hit replay. I can see the appeal of it and the live arrangement works great. That said, the vocal style throws me off a little bit. Definitely not something I’d actively seek out. (8/10)Jaden: A ballsy move I’d say to submit a seven-minute song, and for me, it unfortunately falls way flat. The two minute intro makes the song feel like a slight drag. The instruments are a great asset to the song itself, and the lyrics tell a dark, yet vivid story. Despite my team name of Rock Lovers, I don’t love this rock song. (3.5/10)
Overall: 27 Roadblock Results:(Sent by Juggalo)Judge's Thoughts:Nick: this is cute! a very nice and clean low key pop track. not sure I’ve ever heard it before but I totally dig it. I can just imagine myself jamming to this chorus for hours. the verses don’t quite live up to the chorus but it’s still a great damn track. (6.5 for quality, 3 for theme = 9.5/10)
Mylo: Aside from a few questionable vocal choices, I like this! I’ve heard that chorus a few times but hearing the whole product was a nice experience. It’s also pretty spot on theme wise haha. (5.5 for quality, 3 for theme, 8.5/10)
Kim: This is so pure! It makes me want to put Nelly in a blanket and wrap her and tell her it’s okay. That being said, it hasn’t aged well — it belongs to early 2000’s. (Song: 5/7 | Theme: 3/3 | 8/10)
Shruggie: "I'M LIKE A TURD, I'LL ONLY FLUSH AWAY-" Haha, alright I'll stop. Yeah I used to make fun of this song a lot. That doesn't mean I hate it though. Nelly's vocals are great, and I don't see any swear words in the lyrics, and the production is pretty clean as well. (7/7 for song, 3/3 for theme, 10/10)
Overall: 36

Once again, we hit the bottom 2. One of these teams will hit the mat last, and may be eliminated from the race. Who will crash just at the halfway mark?
The team still safe is:
Overall Score: 68.8 Roadblock Rank: #7 | Detour Rank: #6 Bonus from Leg 2: 0.4 (6th place)
Detour Results:
(Big Split)
Judges' Thoughts:
Nick: first listen to this one and yeeeah I can’t say I love it too much. It just feels like super bland and uninteresting to me. It very much gives the impression of a past their prime group trying to stay relevant. Theres nothing about it that I really especially dislike, but there’s also not really anything about it I really like. 5.5/10
Mylo: I feel like this pick was handmade for me haha. I actually liked most of the PCD hits from the later 00’s, especially When I Grow Up which I found relatable yet responsible. Nicole handles vocals expertly and the remainder brings the support! This is a basic but well-produced bop, I’m a fan! (9.5/10)
Jaden: This is by far the most modern-sounding song. It sounds unoriginal, and it is not the star-struck comeback I anticipated it’d be, for some reason. This track is proof that they are good at adapting to the new mainstream sound. Despite all of that being said, it is catchy and a song that I would come back to for an energy-boost. (Song: 8.5/10)
Ty: 7.5 As a PCD fan, I enjoy this song, but it’s definitely not on par with their old stuffs. Also, it sounded so good in the X-Factor performance with “don’t cha” being mixed into the chorus. Kinda disappointing that it’s not in the studio version.
Overall: 31.1 Roadblock Results:
(Sent by Shooter)
Judges' Thoughts:
Nick: I wouldn’t say this is a perfect clean song, as though it sounds very clean the lyrics are not quite what I’d expect of a clean song, as they’re a tad too sad, and when I think “clean” stuff I think more upbeat. that said the song itself is phenomenal and among Taylor’s best. 7 for quality, 1.5 for theme = 8.5/10
Mylo: 1989 is one of Taylor’s weaker albums. I said it! Thankfully this is among the upper half, albeit still not in my personal top 5. This closes the album and does a great job at doing so too. Obvious jokes aside, this is also a decent enough fit of the theme. The constant ‘drowning’ metaphor is not ideal lol, otherwise I think this *sounds* clean and pristine. (6.7 for quality, 2.7 for theme, 9.4 overall)
Kim: Song: 7/7 | Theme: 0.5/3 | Overall: 7.5/10 This submission lacks creativity and character. As much as I love this song, it’s such an easy pick. Too on the nose for me to be able to appreciate the thought that went into it. Not nearly as bad as submitting “Love Song” as a love song, but close in sentiment.
Shruggie: Ooh, someone has decided to follow the "send title that matches with theme" strategy I've been pulling through the legs. Unfortunately, I've learned that it's not really a good one and that's how I lost. Take this song for example. The production and lyrics are meant to pull a rainy imagery at times, but it gets a bit messy at times, especially at the bridge, where the beat kinda disappears. Also, it kinda gets boring after a while. (Clean: 4.5/7 for song, 2/3 for theme, 6.5 overall).
Overall: 31.9
I can't I expected you two to be the team to hit second last THREE times, but I should've guessed y'all were going to stick in this no matter what lol. Once again, no points for you but you guys can enjoy yet another leg~

well I'm sorry to say but the quietest team has come to an end8. Team Nameless (Leo ✔ & AmazDrag )Overall Score: 57.8Detour Rank: #7 | Roadblock Rank: #8Bonus From Leg 6: +0.8 (4th Place)Detour Results:(Big Split)Judge's Thoughts:Nick: I like this. It’s not my favorite Spice song (Wannabe was right there guys!) but I think this is still a solid and catchy enough track. My biggest problem with it is that its not all that memorable but its still a pleasant listen that I could totally see myself returning to. (8/10)Mylo: I’m not too familiar with Spice Girls but I’ve enjoyed everything I’ve heard from them thus far, and this is no exception! In fact, I think I’ve already heard this somewhere before haha. It’s definitely a 90s song, but in a good way! Wannabe is still their biggest and best though~ (8/10)Ty: Sorry that I have to tank this song. It was cute back in the day but sounds incredibly old after these years. Not in a good way. I wouldn’t have picked this over other Spice Girls tracks. (7/10)Jaden: Normally I don’t like the Spice Girls, and this song is no exception. Despite being one of the more pop-sounding songs on the detour this leg, it falls flat. It’s like it has no climax so I was admittedly bored for the majority of its play. The vocals are dreary, the sound forgettable, almost. Tolerable, just not for me. (5/10)Overall: 28Roadblock Results:(Sent by Julien)Judge's Thoughts:Nick: sure it’s clean. sure it has a kinda cool riff. but what else does it have? (3.5 for quality, 3 for theme = 6.5/10)
Mylo: I think this is on the weaker end of Madonna singles sorry. It just lacks that huge impact that some of her others feel like they have, making this sound just pleasant and passable. Oh well, it’s a good theme pick! (3.5 for quality, 2.5 for theme, 6/10)
Kim: At 37 years old, this song still feels brand new. Especially with the current trends in music, wouldn’t be surprised if someone sampled this, actually. (To answer Madonna’s question, yes, it would be so nice if we took a holiday just one day out of life.) (Song: 6.5/7 | Theme: 2/3 | 8.5/10)
Shruggie: EWWWWW! OK the Madonna joke aside, let's have a look at this. Yeah I can admit it's a pretty decent track for Madonna, meant to get you up and dancing, but it gets a bit repetitive after a short while. And the vocals don't really match up with the production. Madonna sounds like she is kinda out of breath here. Speaking of the production, the switch to piano kinda seems instantly without a transition. Overall, it's a pretty solid track, but not something I'd actively seek out. (5.5/7 for song, 2.5/3 for theme, 8/10)
Overall: 29
Well you two didn't exactly have the best run, but you also didn't have the worst run. Unfortunately, this IS an elimination leg, and you have been eliminated from the race

The DISRESPECT. "a pretty decent track for Madonna"?! As if the rest of her discography are less than decent lmao
Madonna invented pop music. I rest my case.

Leg 8: Moscow, New Delhi & TashkentChallenge #1: Detour (Moscow)What is a detour? In these challenges, two themes will be available, and teams will choose to send a song for the one they feel more confident in. Be sure to specify which theme you are sending forDetour Theme: Flop Pity or Rich CityFlop Pity: Russia is the largest country by land in the world. It’s one of the few countries that is transcontinental, and borders the highest amount of countries. And yet, it has a comparatively small population for the expanse. For this detour, you must send a single from an artist who is/was massively popular that wasn’t very successful.ORRich City: Moscow claims an exclusive honour, as it is home to the most billionaires. There’s over 83 of them who reside in the city. For this detour, you must send a song about money.Challenge #2: Roadblock (New Delhi)What is a roadblock? In these challenges, only one member of the team can come up with a song to send. No consulting. You'll be on the honor system here. Send in your group pm who will do this road block. They will then without consulting their teammate see the theme and send the song in individual pms. tl;dr only one person sends a song, pick who that is in the group pms, then and only then they see the theme Optional Challenge: Fast Forward (Tashkent)Surprise! Remember this is an optional bonus challenge. If you finish first, you automatically receive 15 extra points for the leg, all but solidifying a win for you. However, if you do not get first, then you receive a -3 penalty on your final score. Tell us if you want to play and then we will tell you the theme. And one more thing: this will be the FINAL Fast Forward of the season, so if you wanna make a big play now's your chance.
Consult with your teammate and get your songs in within 36 hours or else your team will NOT have a song in that category and will get an automatic 0/10. Remember that you will be receiving a bonus based on how well you placed overall last week. You're always welcome to ask me and Mylo any questions you have! Good luck everyone!
