I didn’t say Billboard should remove radio altogether, I said that Billboard should lower the influence of radio and give more power to a more relevant and popular music consumption, streaming. They have No they haven't. Otherwise the divisor for radio would be increasing (giving less points) and the divisor of streaming would be decreasing (giving more points). None of that has happened during the entire streaming era, and it would be ridiculous, to say the least, if they did. The only reason why streaming seems to be weighed more than before is because streaming numbers are shooting up.

The UGC change impacted streaming numbers much more than it looked at first glance lol. Although I think that would only support my argument that streaming isn't getting weighed more on the charts. I assumed the poster was talking of the entire streaming era, since streaming appears to be weighed more now than in 2012-2014 (as streaming didn't impact the charts that much back then; only about 20% of a #1 song's points came from streaming in 2012 compared to 40-50% now).

It does seem weird that radio has more weight than say, 5 years ago, when audience impressions have actually noticeably decreased. Huge radio #1's are barely peaking at 100m, when just a few years ago we had Happy/Blurred Lines/All of Me crack 200m+ within 1 year.

Maybe somebody can help me with this. Now that The Bones has hit the top 20 of the Hot 100, could it be the first Country song by a female Country artist to reach the top 20 since Taylor Swift reached it with 22 in 2013?

Miranda Lambert & Carrie Underwood's "Somethin' Bad" collab also went top 20 in 2014.

She didn't lose that description till '1989'.

Listened to The Bones for the first time because it's rising on the chart. It has pop appeal IMO. I liked it and feels like a 90s song. I hope it can reach top 10 eventually.

Anyways, I suspected it had been a long time since a female Country artist had a Country song in the top 20 of the Hot 100. For the record, in Taylor Swift's case her last Country song to be in the top 20 was actually Red in 2013.

Demi's song actually had a little help from streaming (7.0 million streams), so #34 could have been closer to #40 with sales only. I can therefore assume a #30 debut, to be around 50,000 units for sales only. Then project at #10 with 100,000 units or higher for sales only. It is therefore not impossible for a song to stay on high sales numbers (even with little radio or streams) to remain in the current top 10, but it hasn't happened at all since streaming took over. Who knows? Maybe Adele or Gaga could prove this on their next release with their expected high debut?? Left to be seen. I won't say Digital is dead but it is not as significant as before. It is relevant though because it contributes to a song's overall points, in pushing a song a few positions higher, especially when points difference are close.

Shoutout to Even though im leaving and One man band for their runs. Totally not behaving like country songs when they leave the top spot on airplay. Especially OMB has been in the 20-40 range forever. Wow
