Blinding Lights slowly climbing the streaming charts. I can see it taking the Top 3 soon, though I don't think it'll overtake Life is Good or The Box anytime soon.
Also Before You Go seems to be the next Lewis Capaldi song they're trying to make a hit - it's been on the pop charts for a few weeks. It's marginally better in that the lyrics and melody aren't as basic, though Capaldi is still a terrible singer and the song is still condescendingly self-centered, with the line "It kills me how your mind could make you feel so worthless" being particularly APPALLING but eh. Forgettable piano break-up track, let's just move on as quick as possible to the next forgettable one hit wonder acoustic ballad from a European.

Will Post Malone do something to promote "Take What You Want" and get it back on the charts? We need that music video!

No more than if she took inspiration from a white artist My thoughts exactly, but the person I had an argument with said it was a prime showcase of how white artists benefit from black people's work and gain more acclaim and recognition for it, as if it were the 50s or something π I'm not qualified to comment on this issue, but if Normani or Ella Mai had released "Physical" and it had flopped, it would be more related to name recognition and previous chart success than the colour of their skin, now wouldn't it? Regardless, I don't want to go off-topic on a chart discussion thread, so I'll just leave it here. I just had to get it off my chest. I mean, one of the biggest disco songs ever is about white people making disco music, so I can see where it comes from. But i donβt think youβre appropriating anything by making a song that sounds like Hotline Miami.

if Blinding Lights managed to get blocked from top 10, I think i'd be too scared to even visit this forum for like two weeks with how passionate some of guys are for this song π©

Is there any particular reason why TWYW is so hyped up here? I wouldn't rank it as one of Post's ten best songs tbh.

I Do It already fell out to #16 at Spotify for yesterday. Funeral Spotify US
Day 1 - 8,939,202 19/24 songs Day 2 - 7,861,312 19/24 songs Day 3 - 3,225,480 10/24 songs
with the way the songs are dropping percentage wise by the time we get the Thursday update, "I Do It" will be the only song from the album among top 200 on Spotify US.

Methinks part of it has to do with some people wanting a rock comeback for this year/decade after rock got rather muted in popularity in the 2nd half of the previous decade I think it's likely that, but I wouldn't expect an Ozzy feature on streaming's second biggest act doing well to revive a dead genre. It's Post Malone, it was always gonna chart well.

Any Pulse Member born after 1993 canβt predict. All they know is Adele, Rihana, Blinding Lights, Take What You Want, Spotify dead, eat hot chip, and lie.

Ouch. I think the prospects of a big album bomb by Lil Wayne are pretty much gone.

(I know iTunes is irrelevant but...) I never thought I'd see Get Right having three versions in the top 300 on iTunes. GR and In Da Club were the first songs that took my attention about how good music could be.

With how low his pure sale predictions were (even with bundles included), there's no way the projected figures don't drop in the next projections update, especially with these kinds of losses on streaming. He's also experiencing massive losses on Apple Music. He might not even pull 100K SPS by the end of the tracking week.

Is there any particular reason why TWYW is so hyped up here? I wouldn't rank it as one of Post's ten best songs tbh. I feel it's similar to why so many people (myself included) love Old Town Road. It was a genre fusion of rap and another genre, plus a younger artist working with someone who's basically a legacy act at this point. Both of those tend to suck 90% of the time and yet both OTR and TWYW worked. And like Old Town Road, it isn't perfect - you could cut Travis Scott's verse and not lose a single thing - but I think the surprise of the song being good elevated a decent or good song to being great. It's like when you find yourself enjoying a TV show or a movie you didn't expect to like or you had middle expectations for; there might be better movies you see afterwards but you remember the feeling of being surprised for the better and it sticks with you more than "better" shows or movies.
