Not surprised by this outcome, but it is truly the correct winner!! "Walkaway Joe" is absolutely incredible and one of her career bests, for sure. The whole top 3 were perfect rankings for me, so I can say the final stretch of this was totally on point.

By the way, we only have 2 more rankdowns to finish until we have to do the next BotB/RotB rankdowns!! At this rate Trisha will probably make it with Thinkin' About You... But I wonder who else! Probably SHeDAISY, unless austin goes so slow that castleoblivion26 is able to beat him with the entire Joe Diffie rankdown. Or I suppose I could potentially manage to beat him with the May New Releases rankdown that I just opened ![:giggle:](//storage.proboards.com/1258812/images/KYziZwTotWGtjvzyvGqr.gif) We can't have done that many more rankdowns already! ![:dead:](http://ruadventures.com/forum/Smileys/animated/smiley_resurrect_grave.gif) ![:dead:](http://ruadventures.com/forum/Smileys/animated/smiley_resurrect_grave.gif) Right?? It’s felt like it went SO fast!! Part of the problem is that I had to keep extending it, so by the time it FINALLY happened we already had like 15-20 songs towards the next set already ⚰️ I’ve gotta be more firm with the deadline next time 😂 Lol But also the last one was in like January, so it’s been almost half a year... We wouldn’t know it because our brains have been operating in Pandemic Time. It feels like nothing has happened in our lives between then and now 😂

#10 - Til I Get It RightWriter: Larry Henley, Red Lane Total Points: 111 castleoblivion26 - 7 austin - 8 ClevelandRox - 8 fearlessarrow - 9 Troublemaker - 9 bboat11 - 10 .indulgecountry - 10 tim - 10 someguy - 10 BackwoodsBarbie - 10 taylor - 10 Kanenrá:ke - 10 We kick things off at #10 with "Til I Get It Right". This was far and away our lowest ranking song. Out of 12 participants, 7 people put it in last place, and its highest ranking is castleoblivion26's #7. The song was originally recorded by Tammy Wynette, who took the song to #1 in 1973. Trisha's version of this also appears on the album Tammy Wynette Remembered, a tribute album to Tammy released after her death in 1998. Wynonna also covered the song on her album Sing: Chapter 1. I do like Trisha's version of the song, but it is easily my least favourite from the album, and to me doesn't really fit in with the rest of the album.

#9 - The Restless KindWriter: Mike Henderson Total Points: 85 .indulgecountry - 2 castleoblivion26 - 5 Kanenrá:ke - 5 bboat11 - 6 tim - 7 Troublemaker - 7 taylor - 8 fearlessarrow - 8 someguy - 9 BackwoodsBarbie - 9 ClevelandRox - 9 austin - 10 Next to leave is the uptempo track "The Restless Kind". Results for songs 6-9 were fairly close, and tended to change a lot, but unfortunately for "The Restless Kind", it just happened to be the one to finish on the bottom. It lost #8 by one point. .indulgecountry loses his #2 with this elimination, and austin sees his #10 exit here as well. Trisha never released it as a single and, the next year, Travis Tritt covered it and made it the title track to his 1996 album The Restless Kind. His version sped the song up a little bit, and he never released it as a single either.

interesting start. I actually like most of the songs on this album and my bottom 4 or 5 are fairly interchangeable for me. Depends on my mood on where I'd put them

O Mexico was my favourite discovery in this rankdown. It’s a great song but I just couldn’t put it any higher than at fifth place.

Idk what album y'all were listening to but it sure wasn't the right one if tracks like "The Restless Kind" and "O Mexico" were worthy of such low showings. Mess!

“O Mexico” would have been better if it was sung to the tune of “O Holy Night”.

#7 - FairytaleWriter: Tony Arata Total Points: 75 Kanenrá:ke - 2 tim - 4 ClevelandRox - 4 fearlessarrow - 5 someguy - 5 austin - 7 taylor - 7 BackwoodsBarbie - 7 Troublemaker - 8 bboat11 - 8 .indulgecountry - 8 castleoblivion26 - 10 Leaving at #7 is "Fairytale", my personal favourite album track from Thinkin' About You. I think it would have made a really interesting single. The song was written by Tony Arata who, though he has written many songs, is probably best known for writing "The Dance" by Garth Brooks. He is one of the few Nashville songwriters who writes the vast majority of his songs alone. (Another very notable songwriter who does the same thing will be coming up at some point later in the rankdown). This was on track to be the highest ranked album track for a lot of the process. Kanenrá:ke loses his #2 with this reveal, while castleoblivion26 loses his #10.

#6 - Those Words We SaidWriters: Angelo Petraglia, Kim Richey Total Points: 74 Kanenrá:ke - 3 austin - 3 taylor - 5 tim - 5 ClevelandRox - 5 fearlessarrow - 6 .indulgecountry - 6 bboat11 - 7 castleoblivion26 - 8 someguy - 8 BackwoodsBarbie - 8 Troublemaker - 10 Finishing just one point ahead of "Fairytale" is our highest ranking album track, "Those Words We Said". It was always in the running for the distinction, and pulled ahead slightly near the end of the submission process. austin and Kanenrá:ke lose their #3 here, and Troublemaker becomes the latest person to lose his #10. At this point, only one more #10 rank remains. The song features background vocals from Mary Chapin Carpenter and one of those song's writers, Kim Richey. Kim ended up recording the song after Trisha, and released it as the second single from her self-titled debut album. Her version peaked at #59 on Billboard's Country Airplay chart, which unfortunately made it her second highest charting single as a singer. Radio by me used to play it a lot, so I always thought it was a bigger hit than it was.

Nice to see that I scored a couple perfect rankings and was close to a couple others. The only reveal so far I'm particularly disappointed to see is "O Mexico" at #8. Some of y'all clearly listened to the wrong album. :kii:
My guess for the Top 5:
1. On A Bus to St. Cloud 2. XXXs and OOOs 3. the title track 4. You Can Sleep While I Drive 5. I Wanna Go Too Far

#5 - You Can Sleep While I DriveWriter: Melissa Etheridge Total Points: 63 taylor - 2 ClevelandRox - 3 Kanenrá:ke - 4 BackwoodsBarbie - 4 Troublemaker - 5 bboat11 - 5 austin - 5 tim - 6 castleoblivion26 - 6 someguy - 7 fearlessarrow - 7 .indulgecountry - 9 We kick off the top 5 with the album's third single, "You Can Sleep While I Drive". The song was originally recorded by its writer, Melissa Etheridge, and included on her second album, 1989's Brave and Crazy. It was released as the album's fourth single, but failed to chart. Trisha recorded it six years later for Thinkin' About You, and it made it to #23. It was a bit of a commercial disappointment, following up the first (and only) time that Trisha had two consecutive #1 singles. It was always on track to be the lowest ranked single here. It was initially closer to "Those Words We Said" and "Fairytale" in terms of points, but pulled ahead in the last third of the submission process, and came close to catching our #4. No one loses a #1 or a #10, but taylor loses her #2 and .indulgecountry loses his #9.

#4 - I Wanna Go Too FarWriters: Layng Martine Jr., Kent Robbins Total Points: 61 someguy - 2 bboat11 - 2 BackwoodsBarbie - 2 fearlessarrow - 3 .indulgecountry - 4 castleoblivion26 - 4 Troublemaker - 6 austin - 6 ClevelandRox - 6 tim - 8 taylor - 9 Kanenrá:ke - 9 Our next song to leave is the album's fourth single, "I Wanna Go Too Far". I always think of this as one of Trisha's more forgotten hits. It made it to #9 on Billboard's Country Airplay chart, which technically makes it a bigger hit than songs like "Georgia Rain", "Heaven, Heartache and the Power Of Love" and "Down On My Knees", but those feel like bigger hits. It was always a top 5 contender here, but never had much of a chance at making the top 3. This song also had no #1 or #10 ranks, but bboat11, BackwoodsBarbie and I all lose our #2s, while taylor and Kanenrá:ke lose their #9s.

That leaves us now with the two #1 singles, and the #59 single that had a far bigger impact on Trisha's career than its peak would suggest. Plus, we still have someone's #10 to reveal!

#3 - Thinkin' About YouWriters: Bob Regan, Tom Shapiro Total Points: 43 tim - 1 austin - 2 ClevelandRox - 2 castleoblivion26 - 2 Troublemaker - 3 someguy - 3 BackwoodsBarbie - 3 bboat11 - 4 fearlessarrow - 4 taylor - 6 Kanenrá:ke - 6 .indulgecountry - 7 Leaving at #3 is one of the album's two #1 singles, and the third #1 of Trisha's career, "Thinkin' About You". This song's release became one of the first instances in country music where the second single was released before the album was, following a hit first single. While commonplace today, that was pretty rare in the 90s. The song spent went to radio in early January 1995, and spent two weeks at #1 in April of that year. The video for the song was the first of two that featured her then-husband, Robert Reynolds of The Mavericks (the other one being 1998's "Perfect Love"). This song was always in the top 3, and was actually #2 for a lot of the time too. tim loses his #1, while .indulgecountry is the lowest ranker, at #7.

Amazing top 2 - I expect "On a Bus to St. Cloud" to take it all and that song deserves even if I do prefer "XXX's and OOO's (An American Girl)".

That leaves us with the battle of the album's first single vs. the last single. The #1 vs. the #59.
One of these songs had 7 #1 ranks, but then two ranks outside the top 5. The other song had 4 #1 ranks, and its only rank outside the top 4 was a #10.
Our top 2:
XXXs And OOOs (An American Girl) On A Bus To St. Cloud
Only a handful of points separate them. Which one will win?

#2 - On A Bus To St. CloudWriter: Gretchen Peters Total Points: 35 taylor - 1 Kanenrá:ke - 1 .indulgecountry - 1 BackwoodsBarbie - 1 Troublemaker - 2 fearlessarrow - 2 castleoblivion26 - 3 tim - 3 bboat11 - 3 austin - 4 someguy - 4 ClevelandRox - 10 Despite only reaching #59 on the Billboard Country Airplay chart (come on, country radio!!), "On A Bus To St. Cloud" did more for Trisha's career than a lot of other songs could. Written by the wonderful Gretchen Peters (the other writer who I mentioned earlier that was coming up in the rankdown who prefers to write alone), the song has some of the most beautiful lyrics in country music, and Trisha sings it to perfection. This was always in the top 3 here, but really pulled away at the end and made a run for #1. Three of the last five people to submit put it at #1, which really helped it out. Unfortunately for "On A Bus To St. Cloud", ClevelandRox's #10 ranking was also among the last 5 submissions, which halted its push for #1. It was a strong #2 finisher though, after "XXXs And OOOs (An American Girl)" looked unbeatable for most of the process. I want to say that I underranked it at #4, but this is such a strong album that I don't know. I'm very happy to see it in the top 2 though.

#1 - XXXs And OOOs (An American GirlWriters: Matraca Berg, Alice Randall Total Points: 29 ClevelandRox - 1 fearlessarrow - 1 castleoblivion26 - 1 bboat11 - 1 austin - 1 Troublemaker - 1 someguy - 1 tim - 2 .indulgecountry - 3 taylor - 4 BackwoodsBarbie - 6 Kanenrá:ke - 7 Which means that the album's biggest hit, "XXXs And OOOs (An American Girl)" is our winner. Despite a strong push from "On A St. Cloud" at the end, "XXXs And OOOs" was #1 the entire time. As mentioned earlier, 7 people had this as their #1. Its lowest rank is Kanenrá:ke's #7. This was originally written as the theme song for a TV show that never ended up getting picked up. Wynonna was originally supposed to record the song, but she called in sick at the last minute, and Trisha stepped in. While the show never got picked up, Trisha liked the song so much that she asked if she could have it. The only problem was, it wasn't a full song, as only enough was written for the TV portion. Trisha asked her friend Matraca Berg, one of the song's writers, if she could finish it, and a hit was born. It was released as a single in July 1994, and spent two weeks at #1 that fall. Because the song came on its own, and wasn't intended to be part of an album initially, Trisha had to release "Thinkin' About You" as the second single before the album was ready to go. It's nice to see this one win, as it was so close to winning her singles rankdown years ago, but lost to "She's In Love With The Boy".

And there we have it! Thank you to everyone who participated. Thinkin' About You is one of my favourite Trisha albums, and probably among the first 5-10 albums I ever owned from anyone, so I always think really fondly of it. Hopefully everyone enjoyed revisiting it, too.
Sorry for the pretty quick reveal - I've got a lot going on, starting tomorrow, for the next few weeks with work stuff and home stuff, so I wanted to make sure I got it in. I will post the next two albums tomorrow, but I will probably make the deadline a few weeks away.
Are there any requests? If not, I will just pick two randomly, but if anyone has a Trisha album that they want to dive into soon, let me know and we can do that one.

But "XXXs and OOOs" is a jam too so at least one of the good singles won.

"XXX's and OOO's (An American Girl)" is the song that made me a fan of Trisha's and is the reason that Thinkin' About You was one of my first Country albums ever so I am beyond happy to see it be #1 here! Now everyone who likes that song I expect a list from you in the Matraca Berg rankdown (Where "XXX's and OOO's (An American Girl)" is also featured!)
"Thinkin' About You" and "On A Bus to St Cloud" are the right choices to round out the top 3, both are classics!

ClevelandRox You're lucky I'm not a witch 😡 It probably still wouldn't have mattered due to the amount of #1s for XXXs and OOOs but St. Cloud deserved. What an immaculate song. XXXs and OOOs is a jam too tho so at least one of the better singles won out. someguy I have a request for Jasper County if you're ready for that one.
