Alls I know is that Carrie Underwood better get what she f**king deserves
Also glad to see the New Female Artist nominees, wouldn't be upset to see Ingrid or Gabby winning that.
Hoping Maren wins AOTY (EDIT: me and my quick ass don't know how to read! Wildcard is a slight tad better than Maren's imo, but I wouldn't be upset with either!)

This is kind of a loaded question, but how does the reigning EOTY at the CMAs get shut out of the same category just a few months later at the ACMs? Is the voting base completely different? You'd think many of the voters are the same...
I'm sure politicking has something to do with it, but it just seems odd that he's not even nominated. Although, this did happen the last time Carrie was nominated after losing to Garth... I just don't get it.

Shane McAnally being awarded Songwriter of the Year will only serve to frustrate me. He has his hands in so many pots that it seems disingenuous at this point.

What changed between last Fall and now that caused Garth to be left out? Does he not care as much about the ACMs so they don't campaign? Different voting base? Just seems weird, but I think we run into this almost every year... I'm still bitter and what I'm really wondering is how he even got nominated at the CMAs if he doesn't have enough general support for a nomination at the ACMs?... but I guess we'll never know...

Color me shocked(but happy) that neither Garth or Aldean is up for EOTY. Not sure how Thomas Rhett ended up in there though for some reason he is super popular, i guess...
Also, talk about a surprise, Keith being the host? I mean i kinda like they are changing it up, and hopefully he does well with it! Nothing against Reba, kinda makes me think she is going to be CMA host again this fall(have a feeling Dolly won't be though)

Time for my predictions and Luke Combs dominance. Just picking the main show categories.
Entertainer
will win - Luke Combs should win - Eric Church
Female Artist
will win - Maren Morris
should win - Maren Morris
Male Artist - will win - Luke Combs should win - Luke Combs
Duo
will win - Dan + Shay
should win - Dan + Shay
Group
will win - Old Dominion should win - Old Dominion
New Female
will win - Gabby Barrett
should win - Ingrid Andress
New Male
will win - Morgan Wallen
should win - Cody Johnson
Album
will win - What You See Is What You Get - Luke Combs should win - What You See Is What You Get - Luke Combs
Single
will win - "God's Country" - Blake Shelton should win - "God's Country" - Blake Shelton
Song
will win - "God's Country" - Blake Shelton
should win - "One Man Band" - Old Dominon
Entertainer, Album and Song are the 3 I'm torn on. More so Album and song. I think Entertainer will go to Luke Combs or Eric Church hands down. Album I could see Luke, Pardi, Maren or even Miranda winning. Song could go to any of the songs but Dan + Shay I think. Nothing against Dan + Shay's monster hit but I feel the other 4 are better written songs.

The most depressing thing about this thread might be that we're so conditioned to the ACM's doing it, no one has even mentioned (including me), the total snubbing of Tanya Tucker

Thrilled to see no Garth Brooks in EOTY. Maybe Carrie will actually win it this time, like she should have last fall. Rooting for Miranda Lambert to take home her sixth AOTY in a row, too. Wildcard is so good! Would love to see this finally be Maren's time to win Female Vocalist, too.

My biggest snub was Kane Brown not being nominated for New Male Artist. I don’t think he’s ever been nominated for anything yet. I have this feeling they’re gonna wait until after he’s released his third album to nominate him like they did Justin Moore.

With the way things are going, I expect them to re-evaluate that decision. March freaking Madness is now going crowd-less.

It’s a one-time thing so I imagine postponing is a reasonable call, but even that could pose challenges in terms of scheduling artists and such... Or, do they just call the show off and announce winners via social media? This is all just so nuts! Don’t have a clue what to expect...

They might have to cancel the ACM festivities but they can still give out the awards...just not have an in-person event (or just have limited people at the ACM's this year). This is pretty serious, as the NCAA earlier today announced no fans at the men's and women's March Madness tournament games and the Ohio governor also announced prohibiting mass gatherings, which caused the Columbus Blue Jackets of the NHL to play their remaining home games without fans. I think we will see many more teams do the same, as well as music festivals and concerts, through at least April-May. The momentum for the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak has gained drastically the past week or so and it'll be pretty hard to imagine any mass gathering continuing at this point, which is incredibly sad but obviously, the health of the public is the most important.

I think the best thing would just have the essential people, (nominees, presenters, production people, backing musicians for performers, etc) assuming it is not postponed. Pretty much go almost completely crowdless or postpone it.
