Have yet to hear this on any radio station.. all hype! It's top 10 on pop. Are you saying the radio numbers are incorrect?

In the grand scheme of things, pop radio isnβt THAT important but with this top 10, I think we can say her comeback is π― complete. Number one hot 100, number one album, back to top 10 on pop, multiple Grammy awards. And thatβs this year. Go back last year for another number one hot 100, best selling album, Oscar, golden globe, more Grammys, box office queen. Critical acclaim. Meme queen. Relatively decent holds for ROM in an era where pop doesnβt have a strong hold on streaming.
Legend.

I forgot that she won 2 Grammys this year! that means she won 5 of her 11 Grammys at the 2019 & 2020 ceremonies. Coming for more in 2021?

It just comes down to how it lines up with the songs near it.

This is Gaga's 13th top 10 pop hit, her first since Do What U Want 6 years ago. This is Ariana's 16th top 10 pop hit, Stuck With U reached top 15. βDWUWβ was T10 Pop hit? ππΏ The original recording or the ft. Xtina version? I didnβt really follow Gaga on the charts then. Either way, that was one of my FAVOURITE songs of her for years. It still is even though itβs been neglected for obvious reasons.

The original. The Christina remix came late into its run.

It's weird because even before the R. Kelly film and stuff, Do What U Want burned on me faster than most Gaga songs. I think it was definitely the most radio-friendly track off of ARTPOP and I loved it at the time but I've always felt it was too 'tame' or 'normal' for Gaga and maybe that's why I lost interest in it so quickly. If I were to rank how I feel about Gaga's singles now, I would probably put that toward the bottom - no matter which version it was.

That said, a lot of my favourite Gaga singles are those in which one could argue are relatively forgotten now especially if we go by recurrent streams. βPaparazziβ, βLoveGameβ and βAlejandroβ are my absolute favourites from her βTF+Mβ eras. I donβt know why but Iβve never really liked βJust Danceβ, βPoker Faceβ or βTelephoneβ and βBad Romanceβ burned out on me quickly. From βBorn This Wayβ, my favourites were βJudasβ, βYou and Iβ and βMarry The Nightβ especially the latter two. I still think that it if MTN has released in favour of Judas it may have performed much better but everyone at the time thought it was too dark for a second/third single.

I still think that it if MTN has released in favour of Judas it may have performed much better but everyone at the time thought it was too dark for a second single. I remember thinking Marry The Night was too plain to release as a single, or even boring. At the time, we had only heard Born This Way, Judas, Edge of Glory and Hair from the album and they all had their own sounds so in comparison, Marry The Night just felt too plain, but of the five singles, Marry The Night was the song that grew on me the most over the years. I think a lot of that had to do with ARTPOP being even weirder and then the jazz and Joanne eras being what they were, Marry The Night felt like that happy medium that I began to miss. In hindsight, I think maybe it would have been a better second single. I think Judas did what it was set out to do and made its mark that I think is still around today to a degree but it was also a hard pill for some to swallow that Marry The Night wouldn't have been. Though I think Judas was more in line with Gaga's image at the time and I think played its part to help secure her own space as a pop star. I've also more or less burned out on the first couple eras. Paparazzi/Bad Romance/Telephone are the strongest 1-2-3 punches in my pop music history but for the last couple years I never voluntarily go back to them. I'd say with the exception of a couple album tracks, the only Gaga songs I've listened to somewhat regularly in the last while have been the Joanne album onward.

It's not all Gaga'd up with the talking in songs etc. Which I don't mind at times. I still listen to the XTina version of "DWYW" today.

I'm just not into when she goes overboard, but you must not see or feel that same way. She's probably happy to have fans like you. Rock on "Little Monster"!

Do What U Want is an S-Tier pop song, I would say it's nearly perfect, nearly, if it wasn't for the piss-man pedophile himself.
The Christina remix is pretty awful btw, I kind of wish she would re-record the track with a different r&b crooner, I could see The Weeknd being on it honestly.

Real s**t? Oh hell yeah, you made my day I love the solo version and I don't wanna start ANY RKelly drama but I thought it best that she just kinda leave it alone; so she doesn't get dragged back into anything. I don't like how she releases for the fans (by demand) but he co wrote it, so he will still make coins from it. I wish she would have released the solo with a statement that all of his royalties from the song would go to (charityof some kind). I've always had such strong opinions on that man. But this is really nice to have.

But this is really nice to have. Wait, he co-wrote the solo version? I thought gaga wrote it all and then he hopped on and wrote his verse (but only his verse) I'm sure you are right. Honestly I think I listened to the original song once bc of how I felt about RKelly at the time;this was prior to the docuseries, so I argued with many people about it and got a lot of hate. I remember trying to convince Caesar's casinos to drop all of his songs bc of everything everyone had heard about. I failed. But when the Lifetime docuseries came out, they never played an RKelly song at a Caesar's property again. So hearing that solo version for the first time tonight and only hearing the RKelly version like once...I didn't even notice that verse was different. I dunno, if I were her I would make it clear his writing is no longer there and she should send all the profits from the solo versions to the parents still trying to get their kids back and / to the legal team. Great pr move for her and a great/ right thing to do.
