Songs just continue to lose streams. If this keeps up, songs that are stronger on radio might actually gain on the charts due to how stable radio is despite the lockdown.

The songs are so close in streams: #50 has 401k streams, #100 has 293k so there are 50 songs in basically within 100k.
EDIT: That was yesterday lol, my site hadn't updated yet. Anyway, the point still stands, with only lower numbers today.

I’m pretty sure it’s more along the lines that radio needs to recalibrate, there’s no way that many people are listening to radio right now, I mean some stations have shut down and are just playing dead air near me due to this.

At this point it's like using fake numbers. I think radio only gets calibrated a few times a year and even then, it's more for advertisers than charts anyway. I'm sure advertising needs have decreased a lot in the last few weeks and will continue for another few weeks or longer, even for radio, so if no one is buying ad time on air, there's little need - and radio is likely already offering discounts now anyway for ad time so the numbers probably don't even serve their intended purpose. Plus, the current listenership isn't a longterm thing and is probably very inconsistent from day-to-day or week-to-week so I don't think it would be of anyone's benefit for radio to be calibrated right now only to have listenership numbers rise in a month from now.

Great, so the charts will be wildly inaccurate for the foreseeable future. If this isn't proof that Billboard needs to change their formula I don't know what is.

True, but we're talking minimum two months - May 31 is probably the realistic target for lockdowns to end. Moreover, some people won't be going back to their 'old' jobs ever and others may end-up continue working from home for the foreseeable future. I'd be willing to bet that radio audiences are down 40-50% easily. Even though widespread lockdowns only impacted part of March, I'm assuming some of those drops will be reflected in Nielsen's monthly Audio Ratings - March should be due mid-April.

who would have predicted Circles to be this successful? Given the relative underperformance of "Goodbyes" (to Post standards, at least), I know I wasn't expecting "Circles" to be so huge, especially on airplay of all things. On one hand, I'm glad it became so successful, since it's one of those songs that grows on you with every repeated listen. However, its unexpected resurgence in popularity kind of overshadowed the building momentum for the other singles of the album, notably "Take What You Want" (and we can tick that off from Pulse Bingo 😉)

You have to remember the era technically started in 2018 with “Wow” and “Sunflower.” All together he had 4 top 3 hits, including 2 #1s, off one album/era. It really doesn’t get better than that anymore.

Great, so the charts will be wildly inaccurate for the foreseeable future. If this isn't proof that Billboard needs to change their formula I don't know what is. That doesn't mean the Hot 100 formula needs to be changed, the issue here is that the radio audience figures aren't accurate at the moment, so the blame lies on whatever company is giving Billboard the airplay numbers.

If Nielsen's radio numbers are not accurate and it's not going to be adjusted soon (next week), the best and easiest thing Billboard could do is to adjust the formula.

I love sunflower as well and that was my fav hit of 2019 but we all know that was for the spider verse movie and only because it was massively successful as well did it make on HB. But since sunflower is on the album in general i’m so happy he got 2 all time hits (almost) in one era. That’s why i call HB his most successful era

Even if Don't Start Now doesn't hit #1 it's not the end of Dua's Career I'd say it's just getting started.
