Yup, we lose all the album tracks in the bottom five, leaving the top five the singles! I know a lot were expecting Indian Outlaw and Don't Take The Girl to be the two most polarizing, but this one managed to take second place for that! It's just never fully clicked for me, but I do still like it and am glad for everyone else that ranked it high that it managed to do so good! kw9461 loses his #1 here (and I know he's really passionate about this album as it is, so he has to really love this one!), but I hope the fact that his #1 broke the tie with Wouldn't Want It Any Other Way and made this place in sixth place feel a little better! :) Four others lose their last place. The audacity. 😒

I can't quite offer a good explanation of why I put "Ain't That Just Like A Dream" in last place, but I guess for whatever reason the song just wasn't clicking with me when I was completing this. It just seemed to get overshadowed by the rest of the album so it kept inching further back on my list.
Here's my Top 5 predictions:
5. Refried Dreams 4. Indian outlaw 3. Down on the Farm 2. Not a Moment Too Soon 1. Don't Take the Girl

Wait, "Wouldn't Want It Any Other Way" and "Ain't That Just Like A Dream" tied?! Okay, I'm still going to call WWIAOW the highest album track in my mind then

Also I can't believe all 5 singles made the top 5. It's not like "Refried Dreams" in particular is one of his beloved singles

But yea, I agree that it's not one that has much replay value today except maybe in smaller markets in the midwest.

In what was actually the third most polarizing, we lose Indian Outlaw at #5! In fact, taylor is terrified's #2 rank at the very last minute (even after I posted the pre-reveal questions) sent it all the way from #8, into the top five! You go, Carrie Coco! Three do lose their last place here! This has always been the ringtone I've used for my mom, so I still hear this one and get it stuck in my head almost every damn day!

4. Refried Dreams
Total: 66 Average: 4.13 Std Dev: 2.45
SMH, let's all give boat a round of applause as he rejoices! 😂 I love (the forgotten) Refried Dreams, pretty much the father (uncle?) to another one of boat's favorites, Mexicoma! The top 4 really ran with it, Refried Dreams finishing 35 points ahead of Indian Outlaw. No perfect rankings but no last places either! Cody and someguy lose their #1, showing taste!

I figured this would play out this way but I'm happy with the top 3. Would prefer to see "Down On the Farm" be #3 but I'm expecting it to be "Don't Take The Girl" :(

Had I known any of the issues surrounding this song (Indian Outlaw), it'd have likely been my last place. :/

Down on the Farm takes third position! .indulgecountry tried it as he's admitted to putting all the other singles in his bottom 4. I've never seen anything like it. 😂 This is such a catchy classic and I do agree with bboat11 that it's aged really well!

"Indian Outlaw" was always trash so... I mean great for Tim because that song broke him through and who knows if we would've gotten all these other amazing songs that he's released throughout his career had he not broken through with that song but like... really!? Also ClevelandRox it seems like my rank is missing for "Ain't That Just Like a Dream"! "Don't Take the Girl" vs. "Not a Moment Too Soon" was an expected outcome, I prefer the latter but I'm pretty sure the former is going to win. I do like "Don't Take the Girl" more than I did back when the singles rankdown happened where I tanked it.

Don't Take The Girl, the most polarizing song of the rankdown, couldn't get past the tankers. 😞 IMO this is the most classic Tim song there is, and one of my favorite story songs. I pretend the girl still has a chance and it's open to interpretation... they can keep the biased video. 😂 Not A Moment Too Soon pulled off the win by 8 points! I knew by the first few lists (a sea of #3's) it was going to be the least polarizing of the rankdown which was definitely going to work in it's favor. It does sound pretty dated now, but is still such a classic.

Also ClevelandRox it seems like my rank is missing for "Ain't That Just Like a Dream"! I'm always doing your perfect rankings dirty! 🥺 Sorry, I was in a pretty big hurry with these results as it's ALREADY RAINING outside. 😩 (I think this one is Tropical Storm Marco...)

Also yes at "Not a Moment Too Soon" winning this one! I'm not too big of a fan of the chorus in "Don't Take the Girl" (I like the ending of it but the "take A, take B, take C" part never really sat well with me). Thanks for hosting ClevelandRox!

Thanks ClevelandRox for a great rankdown. Not surprised to see Not A Moment Too Soon win it all. Glad to see the love for Down on the Farm. I was hoping that there was some love for it, the song always peps me up whenever I hear it. If we are taking votes for albums, can I put a plug in for Let It Go and Southern Voice?

I figured it would come down to both of these two songs and I'm pleasantly surprised to see the title track win! Admittedly I had grown to dislike "Don't Take the Girl" if only because it's such an overplayed song, but as time has passed I've come to appreciate the song more now than I did back then. As for "Indian Outlaw" I don't think anyone really thought it would be as big of a hit as it was, but it ended up catapulting Tim's career to another level and looking back it was certainly a very risky choice for a lead single. The song was never meant to be taken seriously but I understand why it could be perceived as being offensive to Native Americans (for the record my father's side of the family is of American Indian descent as my dad very much still carried the dark skin, black hair, and brown eyes gene). Thanks, ClevelandRox, for letting us knock out Tim's earliest two albums!

Final Results:10. 40 Days and 40 Nights - 128 points 9. It Doesn't Get Any Countrier Than This - 111 points 8. Give it to Me Strait - 103 points 7. Wouldn't Want it Any Other Way - 102 points 6. Ain't That Just Like A Dream - 102 points 5. Indian Outlaw - 101 points 4. Refried Dreams - 66 points 3. Down on the Farm - 59 points 2. Don't Take The Girl - 58 points 1. Not A Moment Too Soon - 50 points Thanks everyone who participated and sorry again for it taking a few days to get to results! If we are taking votes for albums, can I put a plug in for Let It Go and Southern Voice? Pretty sure one of these will definitely be sooner than later! It's the one that has my VERY FAVORITE Tim album track and I'm scared to death it's gonna get done dirty. 😓 Ofcourse I'll probably do the other one you mentioned soon as well since you asked. 😎

I don't know if I understand this comment very well. For me I've been in a situation where I was at the hospital and was begging god not to take someone from me and that is a very real feeling that I had in that situation. You think of everything you'd be willing to give up to see that person pull through. It is one of the most real moments in a song I've ever heard and it is why the song means so much to me so I guess due to my experiences I don't understand how that cannot sit well with anyone

Oh I'm a little surprised "Don't Take The Girl" wasn't able to stay ahead of the title track. I know it's polarizing, but it was such an iconic moment that I thought it'd have it in the bag.!

Another reason I should figure out the chart graphs, but it actually was till right near the very end. Probably another factor why I lost enthusiasm for a few days on posting results for this. 😂
