1. What will be #1? "Red Ragtop" is pretty obvious to me, lol. That one has out-performed the other singles here quite a few times by now, lol. Although hopefully "She's My Kind Of Rain" puts up a fight, as it is my personal favorite!
2. What will be #15? "Illegal". The production here reminded me a lot of the only bad songs on Everywhere ("Hard On The Ticker" and "You Turn Me On") lol.
3. What will be most polarizing? Least? Most: Sing Me Home, She's My Kind Of Rain. Least: Red Ragtop, Tiny Dancer.
4. Which singles (Red Ragtop, She's My Kind of Rain, Real Good Man, Watch the Wind Blow By) will do best? Worst? Best: "Red Ragtop". Worst: Wasn't "Tiny Dancer" a single? ๐ Definitely that one!
5. What will be the highest placing album tracks? "Tickin' Away", "Comfort Me".
6. Which will go farther, Home or Sing Me Home? Probably "Home". I did this album so long ago that I don't remember how either of these went, but I do have that one quite a bit higher on my list, so...
7. Any other thoughts/comments? The singles placements in the singles rankdown were:
62. Tiny Dancer 55. Watch The Wind Blow By 40. Real Good Man 38. She's My Kind Of Rain 21. Red Ragtop
I would have thought "Wind" would have done better, but it probably got dinged for overplay. It will be interesting to see how they finish this time, as they could definitely do some switching around now that we have a relatively different pool of participants, and the differences between them on these lists are not going to be nearly as severe as the distances between them in the singles rankdown lists! I wouldn't be surprised to see the four country singles be the top 4, but the order is hard to predict.

Y'ALLLLLL I didn't think of me having so many shows this evening (4 episodes of The Circle, 2 hours of Survivor, Big Brother, The Challenge, American Horror Story finale), be ready for some results tomorrow! ๐๐ The bottom two are separated by one point! Which will have the honor of worst song on TM&TDD?

Our first loss of the rankdown is Illegal! I really struggled to put this in last place as I know there's an excellent song in there that I really like, but MY GOD I hate the instrumental with a passion. Someone make me an acapella without it please! Three last places are lost including bboat11 and Kanenrรก:ke !

ยกViva Mรฉxico! A little disappointed this one did as bad as it did, and even more that it was only spared from last place by ONE POINT! I even remember Tim performing it on a Tonight Show (Leno or Letterman) and I thought it was about to be a single! austin , castleoblivion26 and someguy are headed to Canada, eh? They've lost their last place! bboat11 with two perfect rankings in a row. ๐

"That's Why God Made Mexico" being in my bottom 2 is a testament to how strong this album is. This is something I could listen to quite happily without skipping! The lyrics are great, particularly in the verses. I just think the blues/gospel flavorings just make it sonically not something I'd revisit as much as most of the rest of this album.

There's something about Who Are They that I'm not a fan of- the lyrics. Listing a lot of unlikable bitchy people (do what's politically correct ) and then we get... who are they? x5. ๐ (and um what in the actual HELL does he mean by ~funny boys~?!! who are they?! 0.o) I really wish the chorus was more a fire comeback ๐ฅ. But lyrics aside, I do think it's a catchy song. It received a LOT of support from someguy , kw9461 and gonecountry ! tim finally loses his last place and HeyHeyHey got a perfect ranking!

I thought "Who Are They" had a really interesting premise The whole point of the song is that we all have to follow a bunch of arbitrary rules because "They" say so, but we don't actually know who "They" are.

Really sad to see this one go so early, I guess it was low hanging fruit? It was always one of my favorite Elton John songs and when I heard Tim's, I had no complaints. I wouldn't consider it a country radio single, when Red Ragtop stalled (around #6?) from the abortion controversy, I think they just sent this to radio to hold them over during release week till they were ready for She's My Kind of Rain. (TD did become a successful single at Adult Contemporary though). Three people lose a last place, which I feel is pretty harsh considering this album had the likes of Illegal. 0.o Congrats to countrymusicjunkie and Kanenrรก:ke for perfect rankings! OFCOURSE the hint was the Tony Danza name comparison, probably most popularly known from Friends.

11. I Know How To Love You Well The last song to miss the top ten from Dancehall Doctors is I Know How to Love You Well, which received enough support to make it the third most polarizing song in the rankdown. I do like the song but it's a bit slow and sounds like something that's been on multiple albums already, it just gets lost in the shuffle for me. :( bboat11 gets a perfect ranking (again?) and HeyHeyHey loses his last place! Any predictions what will be the next few songs to go before I come back tonight?

"I Know How To Love You Well" is like 80% of the way to being really good, but there's just something clunky about the hook that makes the song fall apart for me.

Oh, let me catch up before I get any further behind than I already am. I mightโve mentioned this already, but I was deployed in the Middle East when this album came out and this is one that I had on repeat during that time. Revisiting these songs ended up bringing back a lot of memories of me working out to them at the makeshift gym we had set up in camp lol. Anywaysโฆ
While I didnโt get around to making any predictions, I wouldโve guessed that both โIllegalโ and โWho Are Theyโ would likely be out somewhere at or near the bottom. I just as easily couldโve put either one in last place myself, so itโs not at all surprising then that was the overall feeling amongst the group as well.
I admittedly am a bit disappointed to see โTiny Dancerโ exit so soon, especially in the bottom 2 which seems a bit harsh. Much like the host, I too am a big fan of the original by Elton and still had no complaints at all with Timโs cover version. I definitely enjoy this one more than most on here as I canโt revisit this album without listening to this song.
I didnโt have โThatโs Why God Made Mexicoโ on my radar as a song that would leave in the bottom 2 let alone the bottom 5. I too had always thought that they were going to release this as a single at some point, but alas that never happened. Not quite sure why this one ended up being so disliked, but I suppose itโs a bit long-winded for some?
Lastly, โI Know How to Love You Wellโ shouldโve at least made it past the bottom 5 as itโs one of the standout tracks for sure. I could just as easily hear someone like George Strait or even Kenny Chesney recording this during that time. That said, this clocks in at over five minutes so I suppose thatโs a reason why this fell to the bottom on everyones list.

As for what songs are likely on the chopping block next, I'd have to guess that both "Sleep Tonight" and "All We Ever Find" are certainly in that mix. And much to my disappointment, I'd have to assume that "Sing Me Home" will be leaving shortly given the mixed response it seems to have here on Pulse. Of the singles remaining, "Watch the Wind Blow By" is the one to watch as I think it could be the one to miss the top 5 altogether leaving the door open for two album tracks to sneak in ("Comfort Me" being one of those).

Our first loss in the top ten is the opening track Comfort Me, and I'm honestly shocked! Definitely my favorite album track from Dancehall Doctors. It was honestly doing great till we got Colby and Jordan's lists near the end. Now, it just misses the album tracks rankdown. Up next, the most polarizing song of the rankdown!!

This album rankdown is effectively canceled. Come hell or high water, โComfort Meโ will be in the album tracks rankdown!

We lose our first actual single at #9 and it's pretty divided, making it the MOST POLARIZING song of the rankdown! Four people put it in their top three while four had it in their bottom three. I don't think this album offered a ton of single options, but there was probably something that would've been better than this. countrymusicjunkie and kw9461 lose their last place and .indulgecountry gets a perfect ranking!

Like, if you don't hear that fiddle line after the chorus and immediately think "f**k me this is a jam!", I honestly don't even know what to do with you???! Edit: Looking at my list, I can't even believe I had this as low as #8!! I definitely had a lot of contenders for my top 5... Lol

Lmao you'd never know it based on how massive of a hit this was!!!! Radio ate this up and didn't stop playing it about 500x per day for the entire gap between eras until "Live Like You Were Dying" finally gave them something else to beat into the ground! Is that just my area? I have always perceived this as being far and above the biggest impacting single of this era. Like I only remember hearing "Red Ragtop" on the radio once or twice, "She's My Kind Of Rain" like 10 times, "Real Good Man" like a billion times on CMT but only 10 or so times on the radio...and then "Watch The Wind Blow By" every 15 minutes for twelve months straight ๐๐๐

Both songs finished at #9 on the year end charts (Man in '03, Wind in '04), so maybe it's kind of even. Glad to see "Wind" out, even if it did make the top 10. I know Tim has recorded worse songs ("Truck Yeah" says hello), but I'm not sure there's a song of his I dislike more once you factor in the massive overplay. And this was an album loaded with single possibilities (both "Home" and "Sing Me Home" would likely have done just as well as, maybe better)

Fortunately for tim it wasn't his #1 going here, but unfortunately for castleoblivion26 , it's his. I've always liked the first three album track openers, but doing my rankdown, this kept getting pushed a lot farther down my own list than I expected. countrymusicjunkie scores a perfect ranking! I had a hint in the wings of a gif of a tick getting flicked away, but chose not to use it after all. ๐๐คฎ
