14. We Carry On 14. Carry On
Lol! ClevelandRox you ranked them both at #14 too! One time I listened to Tim on shuffle and “Carry On” came on but I got confused cause it wasn’t the song “We Carry On” that I remember listening to for a Rankdown a while back… Word has it he is including songs for the new show, 1883, titled Carry On, Shotgun Wagon Rider and Gotta Make it to Telluride (West of Tombstone)!

This is by far my favorite album track on A Place in the Sun! Happy it made it into the album track rankdown and received a ton of support along the way. No support from gardy or boat, who lose their last place. o.0

Lmao this album was a lot like Set This Circus Down to me. Where the title track is good, but everything else is better

Missing out on the top five and leaving She'll Have You Back fighting it out with the remaining singles is Somebody Must Be Prayin' For Me. I like this song more than my own ranking shows! Six tractors got perfect rankings as well!

Some Things Never Change - 123 points 8. Seventeen - 118 points 7. A Place in the Sun - 116 points 6. Somebody Must Be Prayin' For Me - 114 points The Top Five! She'll Have You Back My Best Friend Something Like That Please Remember Me My Next Thirty Years
Anyone wanna predict how this will all end tomorrow night? edit: I've been on the phone with a friend while doing these reveals tonight/seeing the 2000 Rankdown reveals and talking to him about it (and Pulse in general)- when I said I put "any predictions?" he said "Oh, Sara Evans will be #1." 🤣🤣😂😂

"She'll Have You Back" has always been my least favorite song from this album since it released, something about it is annoying. In the context of listening to the full album I can stand it but it is the weakest here and has no business being in this top 5. Hopefully it is at least #5. I'm thinking 4 and 3 will see "My Best Friend" and "My Next Thirty Years" go and then #2 is "Something Like That" and "Please Remember Me" is rightfully #1.

I agree that "She'll Have You Back" will be next. Not due to any sort of assessment of its quality, but because these four singles are just SO iconic! They could all win a rankdown someday and I wouldn't be surprised. But in this case, "Something Like That" and "Please Remember Me" are bound to be the rightful power couple. And if PRM manages to lose yet again, I am going to mutiny!!!!!
5. "She'll Have You Back" 4. "My Next 30 Years" 3. "My Best Friend" 2. "Something Like That" 1. "Please Remember Me"

The final album track couldn't compete with the remaining four singles. I'm honestly pretty surprised it found it's way in the top five, but it is a cute song. gardyfan and jenglisbe got perfect rankings while Castle loses his last place!

My Best Friend is the first to fall short of the four big singles, partly to three rankings tanking it and giving it half it's point total. 4 perfect rankings and austin and Cody are first to lose their first place.

This time the solo tanker is yours truly, but this has always been one of my least favorite Tim singles. :'( Don't hate me! It would've finished third no matter my ranking, which says a lot about our top two. However, four #1's are lost. Sorry for your loss, gardy, indulge, jordan and someguy. I wish you nothing but happiness in your next thirty years. Something Like That vs Please Remember Me

And winning by six points, there you have it! Both songs had the lowest SD's and were always in the top two spots. Congrats to the six participants that had their #1 song win! Please Remember Me is definitely in my top ten Tim songs, a friend swears she is going to have it playing at my funeral (wtf 😂) and Something Like That is such a classic! Very deserving top two. And that's a wrap for "A Place in the Sun"! Next up we have "Emotional Traffic" opening soon, and closing with his latest album, "Here on Earth" soon after. Thanks everyone who joined in and hope y'all are having some happy holidays! Be ready for the Thomas Rhett reveals over the next two days as well!

For me the two singles that ended up at 3 and 4 are >> the top 2, but all of the singles from this record are incredibly solid, which is something that can be said about very few Tim McGraw projects, lol. Good finish nonetheless. Looking forward to the last couple albums on the series.

Freaking FINALLY!!!!!!! This song being our primary #1 contender in his singles rd only to be ripped out of the top 2 altogether by Sabre’s final list remains one of the most infuriating and tragic country rankdown moments. At least now it FINALLY gets its moment, like 3 years overdue!
“Something Like That” is of course a Tim McGraw staple, and easily in the running for his top 3 most well-known hits! Overplay will always work against this one, but it remains a jam nonetheless.
I love “My Next Thirty Years” as well! Another classic Tim hit! I consider this one to be rather under-appreciated on Pulse, so to see it at least beat out “My Best Friend” was a nice surprise! MBF is fine, but definitely more boring than the other three huge hits.

Any song with the incomparable Patty Loveless ion harmony vocals is a deserving #1. “PRM” has such a great melody, and Tim wrings emotion out of it well.
This album - and more specifically “PRM” and “MNTY” - made me a Tim stan.

Tim has always had the ability to take his limited vocal range and just absolutely convey such strong emotion in every song he cuts, and "Please Remember Me" is a great example of that. It was in perfect hands when he cut it, and anything from the Top 4 could have won and I would have been happy!

I can’t say I was expecting a perfect ranking for the top 4, but then again there was probably little doubt that all four of those singles would land inside the top 5 for sure. As a fan of Deryl Dodd, I have to admit that I prefer his original version over Tim’s which nonetheless is still solid. That said, whenever I listen to his version I can’t help but hear someone more along the lines of George Strait or Alan Jackson singing this as it sounds right up their alley. While “My Next Thirty Years” is quite overplayed (I swear I still hear this a couple times throughout the week if not more), I still find it enjoyable and always end up singing along to it regardless. The same thing goes for “Something Like That”, although I don’t hear this one as much as I used to. This was everywhere on radio at the time and for what seemed like forever you still couldn’t escape it years after its release. Because of that and more often than not, I’d always change the station whenever I’d hear it come on as it just wasn’t something I was always in the mood for hearing. That said, with the passage of time I do have a newfound enjoyment for it. I’m not sure if anyone else here remembers this, but when “Please Remember Me” was initially released it was being hailed by every editor from Rolling Stone to Billboard as one of the best country songs of all time. I don’t know if it’s still put up on such a high pedestal today, but nevertheless it’s a song that many people have a strong connection to including myself. And how is it that after all of these years I never knew that was Patty Loveless on harmony vocals?! Thanks again ClevelandRox!

Emotional Traffic: the barely promoted album. If I remember correctly didn't his new label release Truck Yeah at the same time as Right Back Atcha? I'm in!

Just about to submit. Usually I have no clue as to what the #1 and #2 song will be. This time I'm feeling like I have a pretty good guess. We'll see.

This is a lot of build up for Better Than I Used to Be to blow the competition away and steal the title....

Wondering if Mike Curb (Curb Records) hijacked this rankdown?

Wondering if Mike Curb (Curb Records) hijacked this rankdown? If he did, we'd have already ranked Tim's Greatest Hits instead 6 times by now. 😒😂

Does ClevelandRox even go here anymore? Haven’t seen him around in eons. His last post was 3 months ago, and since this rankdown's intended due date he's only posted like 4 other times, so... looks like he indeed isn't very active anymore. :/
