It is crazy how ahead of the game Mutt was production-wise. For my money, this album only started to sound "Dated" 3-4 years ago and Come On Over & Up! both still sound current and flawless. It is a shame what happened to them romantically, but man, was he good for her musically.

I actually think the album still sounds fresh. Hell, if her voice was up to par, I'd think a couple of the songs could have made it onto Now (the album). Could just be me. The songs hold up, I am talking production-wise. It's not a bad thing, its over 25 years old. Many albums from other artists from 2006 already sound dated. She held up so much better. |

Howdy y'all! Time for another reminder as we are now 3 weeks away as of yesterday from the deadline for this album. I'm currently at 11 lists and I wanted to give a few stats as I have begun my own spin on doing the trajectories! --Four songs so far have spent at least one list as a #1 contender --The current #1 contender has spent five lists at the top --Two songs have spent time as the last-place contender, and they are the only songs so far whose point totals have surpassed the triple digit mark --The current #2 trails the current #1 by just 9 points Please feel free to shake things up by sending in your own list!

Howdy! I've been bad at the reminders for this album, but it seems that it wasn't needed all that much! I've received 3 new lists in the past few weeks, bringing our total up to 15 lists. A few stats so far: --The #11 and #12 placed songs are currently separated by just one point --The Top 5 has been set in stone for a majority of the submission process, with a number of points separating each of them --The last place song has been there for nine lists now Since I was bad at reminders I'm gonna go ahead and extend this out a couple weeks to Tuesday, August 18 because I want as much participation as possible, so if you'd like to shake things up, please get a list in to me within the next two weeks please!

Alrighty, I haven't received any lists since the last update and we're down to ONE WEEK! This due date is days before I'm set to go back to college, so I want to try to have it done before Saturday, which is my move-in day. Please send your list in!
Trajectory update upon removing netti's list: --Six songs out of 12 have point totals exceeding 100 --Our #1 leads the way by five points --The Top 4 and the #5 song are separated by 24 points --The bottom 3 all separate each other by just one point --The last place song has been there for nine lists now, over half of the submission process The album is nearly concrete in its solidity but you can still shake things up! If you're even remotely interested, please consider sending me a list in the next week!

I still haven't received any new lists since my last reminder and we're down to 4 days left until the due date! Did you know this album is 25 years old?! To celebrate, Shania is re-releasing this album in a special 3-disc Diamond Edition. To celebrate, why not toss on the copy you already have and give it a spin and rank the songs? My PMs are dying for Shania lists! Come send in a list! Please note: There are far too many open rankdowns with due dates in close proximity to this album for me to give an extension longer than 24 hours. I really do want to try and get this album done and revealed as soon as possible, preferably before the end of the weekend. I move back to campus next Friday (the 21st) and if reveals could be finished by early Sunday evening at the latest that'd be incredible, so if you're interested in sending a list, please get on it as soon as possible.

I'm thinking "If It Don't Take Two" will be the highest album track. It got some unsolicited country airplay in Canada and maybe the US.
I *hope* "Home Ain't Where.." is the lowest placing single because I enjoy the other seven more, but we shall see.

2. What will be #12? "Raining on Our Love." I feel like there is just too much love for "Leaving Is The Only Way Out" because it is a Shania solo write. It feels weird to even mention a bottom-ranked song from this album because it is so good.

As many of y'all predicted, "Raining on Our Love" is the first song to leave us in this rankdown. I quite like this song, but I always find it to be a bit too much on the slower side, leaving me a bit uninterested at times, and in an album as strong as this, that proves itself to be detrimental nearly every time! I do also find that this song is one of those where you need to be in the right mood to want to listen to this. I mean, this song ain't something you can just two-step and jam to Four of us correctly placed this in the last-place position, with many other #10s and #11s scattering the submission pool. Now this one did start out as a Top 10 contender, as you can see, but the more the low ranks came in, the more the song just couldn't keep up. It found its way to last place early on in the submission process and just couldn't give a comeback from there. |
