I definitely thought that the Say So remix would be more successful than the Savage remix when I first heard the news about them tbh

Well it made sense because Say So was bigger than Savage at the moment, but as soon as i heard the Say So remix i knew it won't even surpass the original's popularity.

Also I’d be glad another female rapper goes number 1. Meg deserves it she’s very talented

The last Female •duet• to top the Hot 100 was “Lady Marmalade” with Mya; Pink; Lil’ Kim; Christina Aguilera in 2001, and prior to that was “The Boy Is Mine” with Brandy & Monica in 1998. They all had equal billing on the song and were credited as one. If “Savage” is credited as Megan Thee Stallion •featuring• Beyonce then it’s not a duet, or at least Billboard won’t highlight it as such. It could be the first all-Female collaboration (Female lead song featuring another Female) to top the Hot 100 since “Fancy” however. Duet means two so Lady Marmalade doesn’t count.

This is one of the most interesting chart weeks in recent times, thanks to Savage and Say So!

Drake is gonna get clowned for getting outsold by a country singer. His numbers are impressive for a bunch of leaks but still I never thought I’d see a drake project with a few new songs not debut #1. Is this the downfall of drake? He will always be huge and have big songs but will he ever be able to reach scorpion or views levels again. We will see this summer. Maybe not, but this "country singer" you speak of is no random up and comer, it is Kenny Chesney, one of the most consistent country sellers of all time, so it's probably just bad timing. In 90% of other weeks, Drake would probably be #1.

Yeah, Kenny was like Garth Brooks of the 00s.
The single Tip of My Tongue has over 34M streams and Happy Does went top 200 on Spotify so his streaming numbers are not that small (although way smaller than Drake of course).

Yes.
Kenny Chesney has 7 number one BB200 albums and 12 top three albums overall.
He was the #4 BB200 artist of the 2000’s decade.
His last album released in 2018 peaked at number two on the BB200.
He’s definitely a powerhouse.

I didn't see that one coming lol Cardi B got three number ones before Minaj even scored... one. Nothing surprises me when it comes to others scoring success that Minaj can’t sadly. Saweetie will probably hit number one before she does. 💀

Nicki will never get a #1 and you hate to see it(or not) she done collaborated with half the industry. She can collaborate with a dog and still not hit #1.

The Barbs will have you believe that it’s “easier to score number ones as a Rapper in the Streaming era than in the Digital era” and yet... She still hasn’t scored a number one yet multiple Rappers have. 💀 As a matter of fact, aside from “Anaconda”, none of the singles she’s released post-2014 have outstreamed any of Cardi B’s number one hits in a single week at their peak so there really is no excuse. If remixing a song that is ALREADY in the top five of the Hot 100 still can’t score you a #1 then it’s never happening. Clearly!

Can't Drake just go away for a while? Like maybe a 2 year break? from everything including features? He's always releasing a bunch of rubbish that clogs the charts for a week and ruins everything. Like a mixtape now and his actual album confirmed for summer (so....July/August?) Like enough is enough. He's greedy at this point I feel. #sorrynotsorry Drake ain’t taking a break when he’s two years away from 35. According to past interviews, that’s when he wants to retire.

What I think will help Drake's longevity, especially in the second decade of his career is his prominence of being included on features.
There's still the fact that every huge Hip-Hop artist essentially collaborates with him. He could still get many feature hits, and that would translate to relevance/hype towards his name. Whereas in the past when other huge Pop artists declined/reached veteran status it is rare and not really encouraged/ground that a current Pop artist at the height of their career would release music with them.
This also plays a role in why most Hip-Hop veterans in general are having the best longevity this century. Jay-Z, Kanye, Eminem still remain huge names and can easily still get multiple hits with other artists. They can easily jump on a Drake/Kendrick/Nicki/J. Cole/etc song and it would be well accepted if the output was good. Even though she's R&B, similar thing is happening with this whole Beyonce Savage Remix situation.
Whereas in the Pop world if an Xtina/Britney/Avril was to hop on a track with Ariana/Selena it would just feel really out of place & non-authentic/forced.

Are there really enough points from the Nicki remix for Say So to go #2?

Remix + original Say So have Savage leading by only around 600k on Spotify. Is that enough to break the gap between Say So's very large lead on radioplay and also their almost equivalent sales (taking in to account merch bundles)

Here's what I think:
Savage Remix > Say So > Say So Remix > Savage
Very happy to see 4 extremely talented women vying for the top. Was about damn time we got a woman on top this year.
Also the Nicki erasure is not cute. She walked so Cardi, Megan and Doja can run. She might never win a GRAMMY or get a #1 but her impact is unmatched.

Just listened to both the Say So and Savage remixes. It is night and day when it comes to production and effort.

Just a few days ago there was an article in Billboard about how pop music was ruling over Hip Hop and now there’s expected to be at least 6 rap songs in the top 10. That was fast.

I think there are more pop songs on the Billboard Hot 100 than rap songs which I'm sure is what they were referring to. Not everything needs to be done in relation to the top 10.

I'm just mad because to me, Nicki is still BY FAR the most talented and capable mainstream female rapper and for the life of me, I can't figure out why she keeps sabotaging herself.
