I’m not even sorry, “Good Lookin” was the most country sounding song on the whole list. I know the lyrics might be a bit much for some lol, but despite the vulgarity it’s actually quite clever.

I absolutely love this man… I love what he is doing with his Dixon Dallas persona and he is actually a really talented rapper with several songs I bop to. Plus, he’s so attractive lol.

Well at least Flops' last place didn't outlast his #1 by very long! I thought "Wide Open" had a nice pleasant sound, but I definitely found it to be one of the more forgettable female offerings in this list.

Colbie Caillat is atrocious! I’ve hated her ever since that song with her crinkling her toes and wrinkling her nose. She remains musical trash to me and I want her to gtfo of country.

"Wide Open" is solid, but not one of the best cuts from Along the Way, which is admittedly one of my very favorite country records of 2023. Such a strong record. 😍

The first time I heard Good Lookin I thought it was a cover of a WAP type pop song. Nope. This is 80% a great song. I drop it 10% because it's explicit, 5% because the autotune in the middle and 5% because he switches between you in the first verse and he every where else (he slips back to you in one part) i had this conversation with myself:
It's no more explicit than an old Conway song.
No, pumping deep inside us way more than fingers touching forbidden places.
Oh. It's because it's gay.
No, not at all.
So if it were sung by Morgan Wade or Hailey Whitters you'd think the same?
Oh, if it were Morgan Wade it would be more explicit and Hailey would have worked "corn hole" in somehow.

Ultimately I had it third from the bottom and bumped it 5 spots because it's a good tune.

Sad to see Mason out so early. I'm glad he finally resurfaced with some new music again. He's sounding better and better as he grows up. I think he's got a lot of potential to be a big star in the format once he's a little bit older.

I'd be interested in seeing Mason Ramsey have a career. He has a lot of potential! Although this one did feel a bit demo-ey to me compared to everything else in this list (aside from Billy Currington). Give this man a budget and see what happens!

"Million Little Bandaids" might have a title that is weird af, but I feel like this is a breath of fresh air from Caroline! The light, uptempo bluegrass arrangement really fits her vocal style well, and I don't notice it feeling underwritten, which is my usual complaint about her music.

I had already heard the chorus on a country central posting so it had been spoiled. Twist aside, it threw me off.

After so many years of diminishing returns and feeling stale and uninspired, I am fully on board with "Save Me The Trouble"! This may be yet another overblown power-ballad from them, but there is just something about this one that makes it sound fresh to my ears. The harmonies are on point, and there are quite a few more country elements. I especially love the baritone guitar in the chorus.

Speaking of "Dicked Down In Dallas"! Trey Lewis proves here that he can make quite a good NORMAL song too! I really liked "Always You". It has a very sweet message, and his voice sounds fantastic. It probably won't go on any favorites playlists, but maybe I'll add it to a random slow dance playlist or something.

I love Trey Lewis, but this song is a bit middle-of-the-road for me among his stuff, though it makes sense considering it was what they decided to launch him at radio with because his more... vulgar songs wouldn't have worked, lol. I actually didn't expect this to come this far.

I guess I'm one of the few folks who prefers traditional country who also likes Dan and Shay. Poppy vocal bands go way to (if not before) the Statlers and Oaks in the 70s, throught the 80s (Alabama. Exile etc.) 90s (Diamond Rio, BlackHawk) 00's LoneStar, Rascal Flatts) So when people say they aren't country, I just shake my head.
