RIP Leslie Jordan, love him! "Let It Slide" is pure dreck tho lol.
I don't like the song "Bittersweet Symphony" anyway and I thought Aubrie's cover was quite terrible, lol. And I typically enjoy her...
I can't even hear the other 3 in my head and can't be bothered to re-listen tbh but based on my rankings I can tell you I don't enjoy them, lol.

I just wanted to respond to this and point out that the point of doing this rankdown series isn't to be exposed to guaranteed quality, as much as it is to help people stay caught up on what is happening in the mainstream country industry. It may not always be a strong month, but it does make it a HELL of a lot easier to do things like the year-end rankdown once that time of year rolls around So if anyone genuinely decides not to participate because of comments like this, y'all need to knock it off with that mindset! Even in a "weaker" month there are still plenty of songs that deserve support. All that being said, I do remember from month to month which artists tend to deliver consistent quality and do my best to prioritize them. Crap will still sneak in because some mainstream artists just don't know how to make anything else yet are too big of names to ignore, and sometimes requests can be floppy. But every attempt is still made to focus on artists who people tend to like. Tl; dr - If anyone ever walks away from one of these playlists actively disliking more than half the songs, even in a weaker month, that is basically a failure of their own taste to come through (And that's not necessarily directed entirely at you, LBTrocks ! Just the overall sentiment of negativity that people sometimes approach these playlists with.) Fair point, I didn't think of it like that! Music is so subjective tho so I would hope that someone wouldn't let a comment like that deter them from participating without even giving the song's a shot themselves. I mean, having 30-song lists could discourage people from participating just as much as if not more so than negative comments do, so I'll own that aspect of the dwindling participation But damn it felt like there was such an unusually high volume of new releases in the second half of 2022, it's been hard to cut the lists down any further some of these months! Although good news, the January list is already ready, and it will be back to just 25, so that might make people happy

"Heaven By Then" was pretty solid imo. Not something I'd listen to on a large scale, but it had a fairly strong melody.

"Heaven By Then" is far from the worst offering from any of these guys! I certainly haven't minded it being on the radio the few times I have listened to it lately. I can't decide if the theme is more corny or clever, but they at least sell it convincingly.

"Little Miss" was overproduced af! It drowned everything out. It was basically a wall of noise. I want an acoustic version.

"Little Miss" is SHOOTER's request, so it makes total sense that it would be bottom 10 on his own list Personally I found this one to be pretty catchy! #6 might be a tad too high, but the guitars definitely got me tapping my toes in a way that much of this list didn't!

"Supernova" is a pleasant listen, I know it'd grow on me more over time too.

And there goes 🌺CountryLineDancer's request as well as his #1. I definitely wasn't expecting "Supernova" to be quite as commonly disliked as it ended up being! I thought it would be one of those songs that sneaks right about to the middle of the list due to being inoffensive and generic at worst. Personally, this is another one where the more I listened to it the catchier I found it to be, although I can definitely see where others might not find it to be so.

I def enjoy the melody of "God Gave Me A Girl" quite a bit, I can't deny. In a stronger month it probably wouldn't have made my top 10 tho.

It's yet another #1 loss, this time for superdave3556! I must say that Russell Dickerson is a rather.....unexpected artist to have at #1. No offense! Lol. He just continues to be about as unremarkable as a musician can be, in my opinion. "God Gave Me A Girl" is kinda sweet, but he sounds about as bland and average as he ever has. That being said, I'm sure it'll turn into a substantial hit, further cementing how out of touch I am becoming with country radio!

I LOVE Bros Osborne but man that was a dreadful cover. I hate the song anyway. Also The War and Treaty sounded whiny AF on this and they have great voices, especially Tanya Blount (yes I had to look up her name lol)

I can't believe how the #1s have been dropping like flies (this time it's zaclord 🌈's turn for an early loss), and we're still in the bottom 10! Clearly while we mostly found it to be a weak month, nobody can agree on what was actually weak I just found every single aspect of this song to be annoying, tbh. Nobody's voice sounds good with each other here, and the melody is too repetitive for my taste. I'm actually really glad it didn't ride Brothers Osborne's name power all the way up into the top 10, which I was definitely concerned might happen because they are typically quite popular in this series! But this song just ain't it.

"God Gave Me a Girl" is the first song to leave that I genuinely enjoyed. I wish it had made the top 20 here because it's got a great melody. Russell is overhated.

As can be seen by the trajectory graph, "One Thing At A Time" was actually on pace to be a top 10 finisher for much of this rankdown.... Which makes me feel a bit uneasy since he's such a garbage person who doesn't deserve the fame or the platform that his been given to him....
But overall I did find "One Thing At A Time" to be better than average for him. The groove was very catchy, even if not blatantly country! But yeah, definitely not top 10 worthy. This ain't no "Thought You Should Know" or "Don't Think Jesus".

As with most of this list, "I Still Pray" was just so boring to me. Great vocal from Mickey but this ain't my style.

We're seeing a significantly lower than average placement for Mickey! For me personally, I LOVED the vibe of the first verse. But then the chorus completely changes the tone of the entire song, and while it's still fine, it isn't nearly as spectacular as the verse was setting me up to expect. Still, Mickey is such a phenomenal vocalist that I always find her enjoyable, so I'm glad this made the top 20 at least!

"I Wish I Was" was a great discovery. Idk why but based on his name I thought I'd hate it lmao but it's actually super legit, dude's got a good voice and the melody is EXTREMELY strong. Would definitely listen to this again!

I believe "I Wish I Was" is another request from SHOOTER (lol). That fiddle and steel though!!!!! I found this one to be pretty darn good! His voice isn't the countriest thing I've ever heard, but it's stilll pretty solid, and that fiddle sawing away behind his voice in the chorus is spectacular!

Craig Morgan's new music hasn't been blowing me away, but it sure is nice to hear that he's keeping the neo-traditional style alive and well, and his voice is still quite good! I really love the steel guitar in the chorus of this one especially. Even if this song is not all that noteworthy, it still just sounds good to me. I'd love to hear Craig drop a jam on us!!!
