Predictable, but deserving winner. Caylee's other songs that I've heard haven't done much for me, but "Small Town Hypocrite" is terrific. I only wish Tim hadn't been tanked out of the #2 spot at the last minute, those two felt like easily the two most significant songs on this list. I really do like Sara's cover of "6th Avenue Heartache", her voice sounds terrific as always, it just doesn't do much to add to an already great song.

When Life Is Good Again: And Dolly's Christan music era continues. It's nice until that predictable choir comes in. I Called Mama: And yet another simple sentiment that everyone can feel but like Six Feet Apart it's a bit too plain to me. Girls Like Me: There is a weird country vs pop production going on in this song. I don't think it achieves either, but her vocals are still good. 6th Avenue Heartache: Yes one of the better songs from her cover album because of nicely placed country music elements in this version. Agree with this could be a hit decade ago. Small Town Hypocrite: I have only heard Family Tree and this song from her, but are they even from the same person? The lyrical depth, the instrumentation, the vocals in this song are so much better than the other song! Lately I view her as more country Caitlyn Smith and I hope her album delivers more like this song than the other song. Let's see what songs could be suggested to add to June list  |

Hello all! June was a fairly slow release month...until all of a sudden EVERYBODY decided to debut new songs in the last week of the month!  I could have included 25 and still not done them all justice; so I have decided to keep it at 20, and anything to come out in the past week will be showing up in the July rankdown instead. So if you're missing the brand new songs from Lindsay Ell, Cassadee Pope, Chrissy Metz, The Chicks, (and yes taylor, this includes Caylee/Reba's "Redhead") they will all be carried into next month instead :) The only one I made an exception for was Eric Church, because he is a big enough name to start making waves right away with his new song, and it won't feel "new" anymore if we wait a month. |

A couple of these songs ain't so new. Hopefully they're actually good though. I know the Rebecca Lynn Howard one is a couple months old... But I didn't even know it existed until castleoblivion26 brought it to my attention a couple weeks ago that he loves her and was sad it hadn't been included! And Jamie O'Neal is from the end of May...but again, nobody even know it existed until Kanenrá:ke started charting it. If y'all start doing a better job of letting me know when your random D-list faves put out new music, that won't happen again! I sift through the New Albums and New Singles and News/Non-Singles Discussion threads with a fine-toothed comb! ;) |

Also that Jamie O'Neal song is so similar to one of the big hits in 2000s that I have heard from a rankdown. Can't remember the name though.

Random aside from the April rankdown lmao: I see that I placed "The Stranger" by Ingrid Andress (which won the month) at #12. God, did I underrank it. That would easily be in my Top 5-10 now. Loved it on first listen but felt that there was also a lot of other great songs on the list that month. Ugh.
