I hope they release another single from Nightfall. After "Over Drinking" left them with pretty much zero momentum, "Wine, Beer, Whiskey" clawed its way up to a respectable top 40 peak and onto the Hot 100 (which is impressive considering the low airplay levels), so I'd think that radio would be more willing support a radio-friendly song like "Sugar Coat" even if it took 60 weeks.

Iâd love to see either âSugar Coatâ or âThe Daughtersâ get released. I hope that the time hasnât passed for either to become a hit.

They're probably better off moving on to new music after this and releasing a surefire hit as the lead-off single to their next project, if radio success is the goal in mind... but with LBT there's no guarantee that even that would work out for them though, lol. "Sugar Coat" should 100% be the next single after this if they do dip back into Nightfall for another single, and I wouldn't be surprised if they did opt for another single off the album since its only a year old and I don't get the impression they're gonna be ready to move on to something else soon. I'm not sure how well I see "Sugar Coat" doing for them, but it is a DAMN good song and if they were gonna get another (even minor) hit off the album, it's the only real contender imo.
I do hope "Wine, Beer, Whiskey" can hang in there for awhile yet and clinch *at least* a top 30 finish for them. It's been moving the needle for them a lot and it'd be a shame if it didn't at least make it closer to the top 20 for them.

I'd love to see this song keep going. It feels like a hit to me. If they were to try another single, I'd like to see "Next To You". Seeing live performances of that song sure remind you just how good LBT is!

I understand why this one isnât flaming up the charts because it is pretty polarizing imo. When I first heard it I didnât care for it, but now I like it quite a bit. It amazes me how good this one has maintained relatively high iTunes placement despite being pretty low on the charts.

After entering the Mediabase Top 40, 30 weeks ago in early October this finally reaches the next milestone and makes it to the Top 30 on Mediabase this week at #30 with this gaining spins and losing 60k in audience this week.
So yeah stick a fork in this song. It's not making it any higher beyond maybe #28 or #27 at most. Just drop this song. Radio is pretty much done with this song.

I was kinda worried about their radio career, especially after seeing a jam like "Over Drinking" flopping on the chart. Thus, glad to see this ended up becoming at least a minor hit and they regained the momentum a little bit, but time to move on. Hoping they will try "Sugar Coat", as that song (and the music video) is too good to be left behind as an album track.

I guess they should move onto new music maybe. I think have some good material left on the album, but probably would end up flopping in the end. I wonder if radio would still give them a hit with the right material.

The same week LBT got to #40, Luke Combs debuted at #47 with âBetter Togetherâ. So in the 30 weeks it took âWine, Beer, Whiskeyâ to move up 10 spots, Luke Combs had a complete chart run with âBetter Togetherâ and already had the follow up single to the top 5. At this pace, â Wine, Beer, Whiskeyâ will go to #1 in September 2023 lol.

I realize that Luke Combs songs have insanely quick chart runs compared to everyone else these days, but even so this is a really hilarious stat. I knew this song had been on the chart a long time but holy crap.

It's really unfortunate how even this one radio was hesitant to turn into a real hit beyond letting it get into the top 40 at a semi-decent pace, especially when it's been connecting in a big way from the onset. This really should've been at least a top 20 hit at country radio given the factors at play here: a band with name recognition, multiple high profile live performances, consistently one of the better-selling songs on the charts, etc. No good reason why this has crawled at a painfully slow pace imo. I know they've always had a spotty track record, but unlike some of their recent singles that flopped, this one was actually getting people's attention so it's a shame radio didn't seem to care. It's hard to count them out completely because I do think they can get another smash with the right song, but their mainstream success is definitely winding down quite a bit to where there's not nearly enough hits to outweigh the flops as of late. They've definitely got no momentum left at this point to draw another single from Nightfall, so I'd say their only bet at energizing their profile would be to strike with new music later this year.

I mean I kind of like this song but even with the high sales, this song was always gonna be a tough sell to country radio because it really stands out from the crowd, like there is standing out in country radio, and then there's well this. Also, while I do imagine there is a high passion for this song given the incredibly consistent high sales I wouldn't be shocked given this song's rather polarizing nature that there's a very solid chunk of people that don't like this song, at all. Also this isn't for me at least a song I wanna hear a lot of times on the radio day in and day out.
Honestly, I think the high sales are the thing that got this into the Top 40 and without it I wouldn't have been shocked if this missed the Top 40 altogether. Maybe with the right material Little Big Town can still get another radio hit (I mean Parmalee just got a #1 hit recently so it's definitely possible) but I do think time is ticking and if they don't get the right song soon, I wouldn't be shocked if they were completely phased out of country radio.

They absolutely need to move on to new music. "Sugar Coat" would be the only other choice to try and push IMO but highly doubt it would do anything at radio at this point either. I think they need brand new material and while I get they like to experiment with their sound and try different styles of music, I feel like they have completely lost any distinct form of musical identity and not only do I think that's probably hurting their chances at being successful with music on the radio, but it's also personally off-putting for me as a fan because I used to ADORE their sound and now they don't seem to... really have a sound. And the sound they do have has veered so far away from what their music used to be, and it's not nearly as good IMO. I do LOVE this song and like the album in general, however, I'd much prefer they try to find themselves musically again and go back to more of their 'roots' and I would hope that by in doing so, it might help their typical tumultuous relationship with radio (that has been on-going since they debuted/made a comeback with "Boondocks") turn a bit more favorable again. At least for a single or two per album era, lol.

"Next to You" is one of the highlights of their entire career. Maybe not great for a radio single, but I NEED to see that one live at some point. "Wine, Beer, Whiskey" sure feels like a hit to me.... Even though radio is paying it dust I think it will ultimately fit into the hit category for them. It moved the needle.

Unfortunately, looks like this is done.
Still befuddles me that radio didn't get aboard this. Sales have been, and continue to be strong.

I have to imagine callout scores were awful for this song if Monday Morning Intel's callout scores is any indication (this was always near the bottom consistently from what I recall). I don't mind this song, but despite the high sales this song is just not radio friendly with the horns and stuff.

This definitely seems to be done. And just short of itâs one year anniversary of going for ads, so that is more than enough time to become a hit. I like âSugar Coatâ, and would've liked to see it do well. But since we almost had to throw WBW a birthday party, it would make so much more sense t move in from be album.

The general public (at least those who participate in the callout surveys) continues to be tasteless as f**k and radio continues to rely too damn heavily on callout scores. This should've been a Top 20 hit at the VERY least. Very disappointed that this one's pretty much done--I was only just starting to hear it regularly on my local station. </3
