Demi Lovato will be releasing her seventh studio album on August 15th, 2020. “The Love Of A Daughter” will surely be her most personal to date, as it directly involves her daily struggles in overcoming her past relationships with her late father. The inspiration for the album comes from her difficulties connecting with her father, including a feeling of abandonment during her teenage years. Following his death in 2013, Demi has had time to reflect on what her father meant to her and spent numerous recording sessions reliving many of her times of darkness and becoming stronger.

PROMOTIONjune 3rd: demi blacks out all her social media
june 4th: demi posts on instagram "first 50 who comment get the zoom call of a lifetime. 18+ only." naturally this sparks people's interest, and internet searches for demi lovato surge 350% overnight
june 5th: demi hops on a zoom call with 50 of her loyal fans. after about a couple minutes of blackness, she suddenly starts singing, as flashing lights illuminate the room around her. she appears to be doing some kind of strip tease, taking off more clothes as song progresses, until the final notes play, the lights come in, and like the bad bitch she is, she looks straight into the camera, completely. f**king. naked. her camera quickly cuts to black, and the call promptly ends
june 6th: word of demi's shocking zoom performance quickly spreads around the internet, though there is much speculation about whether it's an urban myth or not. 24 hours after the original zoom call, she posts the footage on youtube as the official music video for her new single, "daddy issues"
june 7th: youtube quickly takes down the video, but is hit with backlash from multiple celebrities, including kesha, miley cyrus, and megan thee stallion, calling out the double standard. #istandwithdemi becomes the #1 trending topic on twitter, with daddy issues shooting to #1 on spotify and itunes
