You could all be right, but I don’t think anything is stopping her from having two performance slots at the CMAs and it’s not like a radio single from her is competing with Adele anyway.
I also find it interesting that Miranda is releasing a new single this week and not closer to the CMAs.

Album next year, I think. But the set-up for a lead single debut at the CMAs just seems too perfect. Also - I keep coming back to this quote: “The show title (Reflection) refers to the fact that this show will reflect the amazing journey I’ve been on for the past 16 years, as well as a glimpse into what lies ahead.” I think we’ll get IIDLY at CMA, a lead single drop to coincide with her residency (simply due to the quote, if it doesn’t include any new music, what does that quote even mean?), and the album in Spring.

I hope next era has some radio friendly earworms. I want to see her get her 30th #1 next era. Bearing IIDLY goes #1 she’ll only be two songs away from it.
Honestly I need her to release an album with the same sound as Carly’s new album.

I hope she focuses on making genuinely great music. I’m over this cater-to-radio crap. She’s long since proven that she doesn’t need radio to have massive success. Case in point: Cry Pretty’s debut being over 250k of pure sales (!) in its first week, in 2018, with her lowest-radio-peaking lead single of her career.

3 months ago I was of the same opinion, but after the success of IIDLY, part of me would like to at least go big on the 1st single.

Ehh her cater “carter to radio crap” has given us one of the best discographies in country music; I have zero problem with her making more songs like Little Toy Guns, SITW, TBC, Church Bells, Blown Away, See You Again, etc. I’m not saying keep trying to recreate BHC. Cry Pretty was alright and am a huge fan of Carrie’s but a huge portion of her CP sales came from her bundling them with her tour. Outside of Southbound (which most of y’all didn’t like), that album didn’t have staying power like her others. All the other songs from it don’t continue to stream all that well compared to her previous efforts.

Honestly, I just want good music. I love to see chart success when it happens, but I’m over those days of chart tracking… One, because it’s stupid confusing now, and two because anything at this point is a bonus. The fact that Carrie is still at the forefront of the genre and an EOTY nominee for the third year in a row is a testament to Carrie’s 16 years in the business and her incredibly large and strong fan base. So anything now is really just … extra.
That said, I wouldn’t hate for Carrie to have a solo smash on the upcoming project; aside from the Aldean duet, Carrie’s country discography hasn’t “smashed” since the Blown Away era, arguably. SITW was huge, but in a different way. I think she’s still got it in her to release an absolutely massive career defining single, but even without she’s set to sell albums and concert tickets like hotcakes for the rest of her career… I know I ain’t going anywhere!

Carrie never release a bad song or in her career it's the radio that don't like her songs. I'm looking forward to whatever Carrie has plan.

If IIDLY is going for max spins now til 11/1…any chance they cut it down a week to make room for Carrie’s new single. Now this is totally me just dreaming, but what if it peaks at # 1 at that time. Then Carrie releases a new single on 11/5 and it impacts and is added 11/8 and she performs it at the CMAs on 11/10. Just an idea if TeamCU happens to be seeing this!!!

But I don't think this would be a smart strategy, as I expect IIDLY to receive a lot of airplay for the remainder of the year, even once it goes recurrent. I don't follow charts closely, but this song seems to have ascended them rapidly, has good callouts, and still has some room to grow. As a woman, I think this song's spins would eat into the spins of a new Carrie song if released. I think they may push the Christmas album a bit in the next couple of months and turn their attention to a new era in the new year. But then again, I keep coming back to the Vegas residency as advertising a "preview of what's to come" or something like that. So that bit doesn't fit in with this timeline.

I guess I don’t mean they would kick off an entire new era right now. I could just see a promo single just to promote REFLECTION. Kind of like The Champion was made for the Super Bowl. A song not really made to chart per say. Really something just to draw more people to Vegas that could end up as a bonus track on her next album.

IIDLY should hit #1 this week and it looks like the label is pushing for 2 weeks. Pretty awesome!!
I’d love for something solo to do the same, but this is definitely a major hit for them both and might even sweep the collaboration categories at all the country awards shows next year, so I’m here for it! Solid career move for Carrie, I hope the follow up continues the momentum!

Sorry for the double post, but I love this quote and I love that she’s on their radar!!! I just realized "If I Didn't Love You" could be up for Best Country Duo at the Grammys. Carrie has so many shots at nominations this year, I really hope she gets some!

The way IIDLY has performed has to have been noticed by the Recording Academy. I will be shocked if she does not walk away with--at the bare minimum least--a Best Country Duo nom.

Aldean isn’t much of a darling with The Recording Academy. Even with CU’s strong history, he’s still the lead.
Not saying there’s absolutely no way it gets nominated (he’s got 4 noms under his belt — 3 in 2012, 1 in 2014), but I wouldn’t hold my breath. Hedging stronger bets on her to hopefully shine in the Christian/Gospel categories.

Carrie’s Grammy submissions (apparently)… looks legit to me… but this can’t be all they’re submitting? Can it? I mean - no Hallelujah? Or MS for Album of the Year?

Her latest Instagram Reel where she's showing all of her husband's things around their home, including at least half a dozen stuffed carcasses of animals that he killed just for fun, proudly displayed alongside a mile-long "trophy" wall, is absolutely gut-wrenchingly unsettling to me. As someone that has always felt a sort of kinship with Carrie on account of her love, respect, compassion and advocacy for animals, I found it extremely disheartening and disappointing. I knew that her husband was an avid trophy hunter, but it was just shocking to me to see how many dead animals they actually have up for display in their home, and the fact that Carrie is even using those disturbing images in a lighthearted fashion just to elicit a few cheap giggles on a social media post. I won't even fully address the fact that her own kids are being raised in such a sick environment that both promotes and normalizes the killing of animals just for sport, because it's technically none of my business. Knowing Carrie's roots and her heart though, I would think that'd be a major bone of contention in their marriage, and certainly not something that she'd ever want to publicly shed light on, and especially not for laughs. It's just beyond shocking and disconcerting when you feel so strongly connected to someone in a shared system of values and convictions, and then they seem to depart from it. It almost feels like a betrayal when that happens, but I guess that's just life and some people unfortunately do change character and moral composition as they navigate through it, as contingent upon with whom they choose to surround themselves. Sadly, we're only as good as the company we choose to keep in most cases.

I imagine the ones they can submit for include: Album - My Savior Gospel Roots Album - My Savior Traditional Pop Album - My Gift Traditional Pop Duo - Hallelujah Gospel Duet (is this a category?) - Great Is thy Faithfulness Gospel Vocal Performance (is this a category?) - How Great Thou Art Country Duo - If I Didn’t Love You Music Film - My Savior: Live from the Ryman I may have totally made up categories here but just assume they or similar ones exist. I don’t see why they wouldn’t go for them. Out of these I think her best chances would be for Gospel duet and Gospel album.
