I think Ed's next album will be named "Minus". I hope that it's not a mess like his album from last year.

Ok so Scorpion was released on 29th June 2018. Album units in 2018 - units from pre-released singles in 2018. 3,052,000 SPS without pre-released singles. btw this was 26 weeks. It depends when he releases his album and how big it is. Hollywood's Bleeding had way more units from pre released singles compared to Scorpion because it was releaded later and had more singles pre album. 3M units from 23 unreleased songs and a viral blockbuster song. It's really tough to do 3M without both, but hope he or someone else does. Or else this year would just stuck with 5-9 albums with 2M and not a single album over 3M units.hopefully he bundles the album or else I don't see it happening

I'd prefer if Drake waited until after Summer to release the album. It just seems out of place currently.
I also don't think the album is even coming Summer. Every single album release he has ever done has had singles released months before the album release. Infact ever since Take Care, every album hasn't come until atleast four months after the first single that appears on the album.
Marvin's Room released June 2011 -> Take Care released November 2011 Started from the Bottom released February 2013 -> NWTS released October 2013 Hotline Bling released July 2015 -> Views released April 2016 God's Plan released January 2018 -> Scorpion released June 2018
I think him saying the album coming Summer was an unrealistic thing he was toying with. Reminds me of him saying Views was Spring of 2015, then he dropped the mixtape in February, and it ended up being pushed back much further.

Hotline Bling has always felt like a standalone single to me. Wikipedia even says it's a bonus track.

Hotline Bling has always felt like a standalone single to me. Wikipedia even says it's a bonus track. He was still hyping the album and announcing it for a long while before release, which was the overall point. He has never announced and released an album in just a mere <3 months. Views actually had the longest rollout considering we knew the album title almost 2 years before... We have absolutely nothing from this album yet so I doubt it’s gonna all be put together by Summer.

I've always doubted that he'd be able to release an album in the summer. The smallest break he's had between projects was 7 months between IYRTITL/WATTBA and 7 months between WATTBA/Views. Dropping an album in the summer would dropping a new project less than 5 months after having one out already. There's also your point of him not starting the rollout of the album era yet. I think he should delay the album till next year altogether. Maybe release a single in the fall, another early next year and then drop the album sometime in the second quarter of next year or maybe even delay starting the era till January next year like he did with Scorpion. He can get through the rest of this year will well-timed features.

I would appreciate if he pushed the album back to make it better. The last thing we need is Drake pulling a Culture II

I am ready for Bruno Mars' next era. Before Ed has another release, I want solo singles from Bruno and Adele.

Can we talk about how Roddy Ricch is doing so well on radio? Two top 10 radio hits (The Box and High Fashion) another top 15 radio hit (Ballin') and ROCKSTAR quickly rising as well. This kind of radio presence seems unheard of for a new rapper. Roddy Ricch is a serious contender for Best New Artist at next year's Grammy awards.

I think Ed's next album will be named "Minus". I hope that it's not a mess like his album from last year. Feel like 'Subtract' is a more poetic but still mathematical title

Subtract is probably the title if he sticks with the theme. The other albums have been named after the action rather than the symbol

Ed, can you go back to make Thinking Out Loud again txx Thomas Rhett already made "Thinking Out Loud" again and that song is 6x Platinum. We don't need another.

Drake Artist Discussion Thread (Week 96450):
I think a Drake surprise album is a possibility. If it comes out this summer, I see it topping 3M.

Subtract is probably the title if he sticks with the theme. The other albums have been named after the action rather than the symbol But the first one was Plus? The opposite of plus is minus. Minus would work better imo

Oh wow, this made me realize it's been 3 years since Divide already. Definitely doesn't feel like it.
Ed's next era will more than likely have atleast 1 big smash and do good numbers. Divide is easily one of the top 10 biggest peaks eras ever on a global scale... Shape of You/Perfect are two of the biggest songs ever, the album is one of the biggest albums ever, and even the tour is the highest grossing of all-time.
