This is a tournament idea I started working when I was doing the Top Hot 100 Songwriters of All Time list. The songwriters for the top 5 songs from each round get to advance a new song to the next round. Round 6's top 5 were 1999, Fallin', Let It Be, Starman and Together Again so their songwriters get to place songs in round 7. Songwriters that fail to make the top 5 will eventually get a second chance but not until at least a few rounds later. That's why there are songs by songwriters that almost made the five in earlier rounds (Stevie Wonder, Max Martin, Paul Simon and Stevie Nicks). ROUND 7 - Due June 22, 6pm EST Rank these songs 1 to 20 from best to worst and PM me the list. Boys Don't Cry - The Cure (writers: Robert Smith, Lol Tolhurst, Michael Dempsey) By The Time I Get To Phoenix - Glen Campbell (writers: Jimmy Webb) Cecilia - Simon & Garfunkel (writers: Paul Simon) Come Together - The Beatles (writers: Paul McCartney, John Lennon) Here You Come Again - Dolly Parton (writers: Cynthia Weil, Barry Mann) If - Janet Jackson (writers: Janet Jackson, Jimmy Jam Harris, Terry Lewis, Harvey Fuqua, Robert Beavers, Johnny Bristol) I'm On Fire - Bruce Springsteen (writers: Bruce Springsteen) Let's Go Crazy - Prince (writers: Prince) Love Me Harder - Ariana Grande feat. The Weeknd (writers: Max Martin, Ali Payami, Savan Kotecha, The Weeknd, Peter Svensson, Ahmad Balshe) Landslide - Fleetwood Mac (writers: Stevie Nicks) Let's Get It On - Marvin Gaye (writers: Marvin Gaye, Edward Townsend) Off The Wall - Michael Jackson (writers: Rod Temperton) Otherside - Red Hot Chili Peppers (writers: Anthony Kiedis, Chad Smith, John Frusciante, Flea) Night Fever - Bee Gees (writers: Barry Gibb, Maurice Gibb, Robin Gibb) No One - Alicia Keys (writers: Alicia Keys, Kerry Brothers Jr., George Harry) Rebel, Rebel - David Bowie (writers: David Bowie) Ribs - Lorde (writers: Lorde, Joel Little) Signed, Sealed, Delivered, I'm Yours - Stevie Wonder (writers: Stevie Wonder, Syreeta Wright, Lee Garrett, Lula Hardaway) These Arms of Mine - Otis Redding (writers: Otis Redding) To Zion - Ms. Lauryn Hill (writers: Lauryn Hill, Norman Gimbel, Charles Fox)Round 7 Spotify PlaylistPast RoundsRound 1 Round 2 Round 3Round 4Round 5Round 6

Once again, you can rank these based off whatever your favorite recording of the song is.
The most notable cover that you could use as an alternate would be the Dixie Chicks' cover of Landslide, but Come Together also has several popular covers (Aerosmith, Michael Jackson, Gary Clark Jr).

I'll probably only start reveals in a couple hours so you can still squeeze in a list by then if you want. Submissions are only closed once the first reveal is posted.

Jimmy Webb's most famous songs are Wichita Lineman and Highwayman, but as usual I'm keeping what I consider to be their top two out of the tournament. He also wrote MacArthur Park.

Of course a country song was out first. #pretenstobesurprised
The vocals on "Cecilia" were... not good.
