I gave her team credit for pushing Physical and Don't Start Now when they did. I've been on record calling Don't Start Now the best single of the year and Future Nostalgia the best album of the year. Her team is doing what they feel they need to do (as they should) and my opinions were never stated so they could do what I specifically want. I understand that the goal of her team is to pick singles that end up being hits for her and I know that the opinion of one fan won't change what they end up doing. Still, that doesn't mean I can voice those opinions, which is what I did. sis you called her team "clueless" and said single choices have been misses since "Don't Start Now." Not when it comes to pushing her singles, they're not. They started off well with Don't Start Now, but they've missed it since then. There's no reason why Levitating shouldn't be the single being pushed right now. It's a perfect summer bop. So what's the truth? Anyways you sound tired, you make better points in your arguments usually. Physical hit top10 in most markets where it was a single, BMH all things considered is also a solid choice. Not even her team could have predicted Don't Start Now to be spending its 250th day still inside the Worldwide Spotify's top10, right? Don't Start Now and Physical were smart choices as singles, but the single that should have been pushed after that is Levitating, not Break My Heart. Levitating would have peaked on radio and on the charts in the apex of summer. Harry Styles' team was smart. They started pushing Watermelon Sugar and now it's grown into a solid summer hit.

Levitating and Hallucinate are fairly even on Spotify and among her top ten most listened tracks right now so there is no wrong or right answer from that point of view.

I'm assuming her team is trying to set her up to be the next worldwide global superstar so they're just trying to always keep people fed with her music and having her name in their ears.Β If she can secure this collab with Madonna she could have the next DSN or New Rules. Madonna is def not the streaming force she used to be, but just the power of her name alone with probably the second biggest female pop streaming force next to her would be a surefire hit. Well, Madonna was never a streaming force, her hits were based on Radio/Sales, but I think a remix could be a huge hit ,since Madonna's streaming action has increased. Maybe Levitating is after Hallucinate in the fall.

In my original post I know there wasn't much of a streaming platform, I was just referring to viewers on MTV and such, and how huge of a global pop sensation she was. I always thought Vogue was some huge song MTV.

Hallucinate is the better song in my opinion, but it will probably be mostly pushed to international markets anyways, so don't worry. BMH is still rising in the US for now and unless a meme or tiktok challenge comes out of nowhere Hallucinate likely won't get any traction. She's still a huge radio darling so whatever the next single is will probably be pushed just as hard over here

I thought Cool & Levitating shouldβve been the next singles following the album release. Break My Heart is not really anything special and Hallucinate just isnβt more hit appealing than the former two imo.
Donβt Start Now -> Cool -> Levitating -> Pretty Please
I donβt think her team did a good job with the singles this era, but I also think it comes down to a lot of it was moreso geared towards the European audience where she is more established. Physical, Break My Heart, and Hallucinate donβt really sound like hits here in America to me at all.

After fully listening to both Hallucinate and Levitating again, both feel just as "summery" as each other, both very danceable and upbeat with this euphoric feeling, so if that is what's driving the next single choice, it really doesn't matter and either one would be good.
As for a possible Madonna collab, sorry but I don't think that will do anything for her. As much as I love Madonna, she is clearly a legacy act now and has been dead at radio for almost 20 years.

Wow this is probably one of the slowest and calmest hot 100 threads in a while. Not complaining tho. lol still quite calm if you think that the biggest argument is if Dua's team is just good or REALLY good

Physical was 100% the right choice for an European single and so is Hallucinate.
Both Hallucinate and Levitating are the biggest album tracks with 42-44m streams already. Hallucinate seems to have done better in the UK, and so I see Hallucinate getting the Physical route, which would be a very smart choice indeed, especially if it ends up getting the Madonna remix. the US can have Levitating soon, but we also don't wanna fatigue her in that market, if that is even possible.

I disagree about the Madonna comment. If anything the single will get even more airplay due to Madonna having such familiarity with all age groups.

I still don't get why there's a debate of which songs should have been (or shouldn't have been) as singles from Future Nostalgia when this isn't related to the Billboard Hot 100 and it could have simply been done in Dua's artist discussion thread. Shake my head.

Highly doubt the same industry 6ix9ine battled against to get the top spot is now going to give him enough airplay to prevent TROLLZ from dropping out early. Besides, GOOBA only has 4.25 according to Kworb, and it's been out for 7 weeks.

Trollz is definitely breaking that Taylor Hicks Record. To clarify, are you talking about the record for the fewest weeks on the chart for a #1-peaking song? If so, I hope it breaks that record. I actually like the Taylor Hicks song. As a side note, 2006 must have been a very weak year for the chart if nothing that peaked in that year even cracked the top 40 of the decade-end chart and that song managed to make the year-end, while "I Believe" didn't make the 2004 Year-End Hot 100.
