TROLLZ is already in the 80's in it's fourth week, and it's gonna be absolutely wrecked by Juice WRLD next week.

If I recall in like 1983, on the Top Artists Year-End the highest solo woman was #15. There would also be like 2 or 3 #1's per year with a solo female artist, and that was when the chart had 20+ #1's per year. Lots of times the only female in the top 10 at one point would be a Fleetwood Mac type situation, where they were in a band with male artists also. A lot also depends on the type of music in fashion. A few years before 1983 women were killing it. In 1979, the height of the (female/gay male-driven) disco era women like Donna Summer, Gloria Gaynor, Amii Stewart, Anita Ward, Sister Sledge, etc were dominating the charts. The backlash to that in the very early 80s led to male rock and soft-pop acts being on top. The turbo pop era ten years ago saw women like Katy Perry, Gaga, Kesha, Kelly Clarkson, and Rihanna on top with Adele slaying all challengers on the album chart. The backlash to that era was the male dominated rap era we're still currently in. Men tend to do better overall but certain eras give women the advantage, and they will be on top again some day.

Maybe women will have the advantage in the already-starting move towards more uptempo pop songs

The backlash to that era was the male dominated rap era we're still currently in. Men tend to do better overall but certain eras give women the advantage, and they will be on top again some day. The past few years seem more extreme because the early 2010s was probably the most dominant era for women in music ever. The 2011 Hot 100 for example... there was only 5 weeks that entire year where the #1 song did not have a female vocalist on it. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Billboard_Hot_100_number-one_singles_of_2011Also Adele & Taylor Swift were the biggest album sellers, Katy Perry & Rihanna were the biggest hitmakers, and Gaga was the most talked about artist in culture at one point. Women ruled every diameter of music the early 2010s, so for them to be pushed back to the back with modest presence felt very extreme. There's already been like 6 women to hit #1 this year, so it's not a bad drought, but ofcourse the days of them reigning the Hot 100 for 10 weeks with a single song are somewhat over so it seems worse in that aspect. Also when these album bombs (ala Pop Smoke/Juice Wrld currently) occur it makes their positioning on streaming look pretty bad. A lot of it I also believe has to do with the fact A-list women are just releasing less often compared to A-list men which makes it worse. Adele, Beyonce, and Rihanna haven't released studio albums in 4+ years. Cardi has taken a break and it'll be a 3 year anniversary of her debut album by the time her sophomore is out, Nicki has released 1 album the past 5 years. Ariana was pretty much the only one releasing as much as men which explains her streaming power compared to other women.

new Beabadoobee song, "Care"
could get some decent momentum, since she's built up a lot of goodwill from Death Bed. At the very least it'll hit the rock charts

any chance for juice to get a #1? Unlikely, but there is an outside chance for Come & Go. Most predictors are putting that at #2.

Supalonely not even cracking the Top 40 yet feels a lot like Lalala from last year: a song that didn't even crack the Top 40 - or in this case barely cracked the Top 40 - felt more bigger and popular than many of the hits that were above it at the time.
Like this is different than a songs like The Less I Know The Better or Run Away with Me or Wicked Games (The Weeknd song) slowly becoming more fondly remembered and influential over many years, Supalonely feels bigger than the popular songs right now.

I'm surprised at the tepid airplay it received. At both of the two main Bay Area pop radio stations, "Supalonely" was #2 last week stuck behind "Savage Remix" at both, as opposed to its #13 peak so far on the national chart. It's beginning to descend here, down to #4 and #5 this week. It's definitely served some good longevity, but it really deserved a higher peak on the Hot 100 imo.

Wishing Well is #1 on Spotify... I think it's the 3rd song from the album that has hit the #1 on the daily chart already lol. Juice WRLD has top 2 there still, What's Poppin and Rockstar are #3 and #4.

Well yeah, Sim's predictions in recent times have started to become more and more different from the actual formula and such.
Still, it bums me out that this started as an hobby of his and stan twitter became so "reliant" on him that it started to come to extremes...still, it's true that there were already more accurate predictors such as fhas, Talk of The Charts, etc...
Wishing him the best tho.
