And for those ultra slow like me, RHN is Remember Her Name lol
Awesome to see her getting nominations two years in a row. Maybe this will open the eyes of country radio.

It goes both ways, while it’s true that Mickey has given up on releasing anything to radio, it’s because radio hasn’t given her the time of the day. Heaven Down Here was generic and cookie cutter, and yet radio didn’t even budge. And that was coming from a huge hype.
I do hope that with the nominations, it’ll give them some incentive to send Remember Her Name. It’s such a GOOD song and so much better than the majority of what’s currently on chart. And we all know that Mickey will easily kill her performance at the Grammys.

Sending songs to radio isn't a cheap undertaking so I'm sure the financial liability is also playing a huge risk. Pour that money into getting her as much exposure as possible or potentially waste on a single that programmers ignore? That said, I do think they need to capitalize on this Grammy hype and send something.

I'm going to go back on my word of not thinking they should send something to radio, because they would just let it flop.
I think they should try one more big radio push, before they completely stop trying like they did with Kacey. I'd send "Remember Her Name" to radio immediately following the Grammy's; because her earning three nominations is huge. I think that track is the track from the album that stands the best chance at radio playing.

Now she better fucking win at least one of these. I don't want to see white male mediocrity win out again like it did when she lost to some dud album cut from Vince Gill over the scintillating "Black Like Me" at last year's ceremony. Giving her performance space and noms is great, but she deserves the actual hardware! My hope is that the Grammys hype can convince her label to invest in sending "Remember Her Name" to radio and at least trying it. Radio didn't turn "Rainbow" into a huge smash by any means for Kacey Musgraves a few years ago, but the hype translated into a modest nearly top 30 showing thanks to quite a few stations jumping on it right away. I feel like something similarly could happen with Mickey and we've seen several times with the reaction to her CRS performances that there are people in radio who would love to play her with the right song, but the only track they've even tried in the past like 5 years is "Heaven Down Here" and it was nothing that moved the needle for fans or programmers. Going the safe route frequently doesn't work out for women -- they usually have their biggest hits with songs that really grab people in a big way -- so I believe releasing something like "Remember Her Name" would be a smarter play than going with something safe like "All American," i.e.

They really should send “Remember Her Name” ASAP. It’s so freaking good.

Now she better f**king win at least one of these. I don't want to see white male mediocrity win out again like it did when she lost to some dud album cut from Vince Gill over the scintillating "Black Like Me" at last year's ceremony. Chris Stapleton is likely taking most if not all of the categories she's in. He's a white male, but I wouldn't call him mediocre.

The point was more so in response to last year though that her song lost to some random album cut.

Her career really frustrates me. I’m with folks on just releasing a damn single!! Lol. I don’t think she’s at the point in her career like Kacey Musgraves was where she doesn’t need to rely on country radio at all. I think she needs to build up some type of GP following from radio whether it’s a couple of top 30/40 singles or even one top 10 single (I know I’m reaching for the stars lol).
Also if her team ain’t going to do anything on the radio front, maybe plan a tour for her in the near future or something cause DAMN. It’s almost like they sitting on her career unsure what to do. They’re going to have to capitalize on something at some point.

Radio will not play her, her album while being critically acclaimed has not been commercially successful at all…..Her record label is probably at a crossroads with her, she has been front and center at award shows and all over the tv but she just hasn’t been able to click with the country audience. What I think they should do if they feel like the financial investment is worth it is to release a single and send her on a radio tour to reintroduce her to programmers….But doing that will cost a lot of money and won’t guarantee that anything will come of it.

I really wish they would push a single. I think that radio will play something from her at this point, but something has to be pushed in order for them to do so.

I agree her albums has done nothing in sales or streaming. Although it is an important piece of work that Has garnered critical acclaim it IMO is not an albums that will catch on. The lyrics are powerful and important but melodically it is again IMO nothing outstanding. Kacey’s was catapulted into stardom beyond the critical acclaim with a mesmerizing album. She was able to parlay that into a career that doesn’t need country radio. It will remain to be seen what this critical acclaim and TV opportunities can do in the long run for Mickey. The fact that they have released nothing to radio speaks volumes to what radios interest is with the current catalog has. Perhaps they are looking for a better song or duet opportunity.

I think they are just using the money they would’ve spent on a radio push on getting her in the public eye. She’s been everywhere since the album was released.
Like you would think she was Carrie level status by how many TV promotion appearances she’s made; when in reality she hasn’t connected with the general public at all.

I will say the one thing that just stuns me to no end is despite all these TV performances and slots you would think she would at least connect following these TV performances but it seems like despite the TV performances her music isn't sought after much at all online, and it really can't be overstated how much the album flopped commercially despite all the promo beforehand (it barely charted on The Country Albums Chart). I give credit to UMG Nashville for constantly trying, and trying to get her to breakthrough with all these TV appearances but it feels like no matter how hard they try it never sticks.
