Leona is right. This album is NOT pop, but it could still do okay on the format. On the other hand, she thinks it could do really well on HAC or country. Seems reasonable to me That was definitely NOT what leona said. This album is alt and it probably won't do well on CHR but alternative radio has like 5m audience and pop is her core format... Why wouldn't her team try to get a hit there? |

I would gladly sacrifice chart success for a couple great videos for album tracks. |

As a Swift fan for many years, I could see the upcoming "Folklore" singles doing well on AC Radio. CHR/Pop isn't willing nowadays to give her a hit,Taylor has a good future with AC Radio.A Collaboration with Post Malone or Cardi B would be the perfect play to get a comeback on CHR/Pop radio if they are not willing to play the regular versions.

I would gladly sacrifice chart success for a couple great videos for album tracks. in a perfect, pandemic-free world, folklore would have made a great visual album (like BEYONCÉ) or a movie with all the songs in it (like LEMONADE). UMG Germany published something online, suggesting "the 1" is the next big single. hopefully we'll see if that turns out to be true sooner than later. I said this in the folklore thread many times, but just to recap: "the 1" has the best chance on CHR, "dynasty" would make a great video, and "august" is my personal favorite off the album and could also work for CHR, I think. (especially considering the song is about how fast August slipped away—very relatable right now tbh. can I get my summer break back?) "exile" could also work with a shorter radio edit. |

She has options for sure. Any one of "dynasty", "exile" and "the 1" has its plusses and minuses. I would almost think that "exile" next (for awards season) followed by "the 1" would make the most sense, with a "dynasty" video coming whenever she can would be best, but I'm not sure.
