I'm amazed that Savage Love is a real hit, it seems like a bootleg tiktok remix or something, probably because it is. someone said that it's a stolen hit,now that it's a remix.it's an original song...jason derulo is the writer of the song -wrote the lyrics-.. also jawsh 685 said that he didn’t expect the beat to be so focused on love as Jason Derulo MADE IT, but he said that is 'what collaboration is all about' .. The lyrics of the song are original, however the beat was stolen by Jason Derulo. Jawsh 685 was already negotiating with plenty of artists who wanted to use the beat before "Savage Love" was commercially released by Jason Derulo, who at first only gave him a production credit on the song. It was only when Jawsh 685 saw that the song was instantly taken off (and after he got the co-lead credit), that he was "cool" with it being used by Jason Derulo.

Also can the album bombs slow down a bit so "Watermelon Sugar" can finally outpeak "Adore You"? k thx. It looks like you will get your wish. With it being discounted this week, Watermelon Sugar is almost certainly going to be #2 on the 8-15 chart.

Wouldn't anyone else like to know how much Billboard gets paid to take space in Taylor's bung & post endless garbage for 2 weeks during a new album release?

First time in 10 years that a 30+ year old woman released a solo #1 (since raise your glass).

Honestly we should’ve pushed to ban twitter instead of tik tok first. These stans are so confusing and toxic to even understand

The song was first released in May, but was pulled after Derulo faced backlash.

How would Billboard now before them? She's the biggest female artist in the world, and dropped a surprise album to critical acclaim and chart success. Billboard is obviously gonna create 1 million and 1 articles about her. Just like they will when this BTS song debuts at one with like 150k sales lol

Cardigan debuting at #1 on the HOT ROCK / ALTERNATIVE SONGS chart is a little jarring. I guess the chart really IS revamped!

First time in 10 years that a 30+ year old woman released a solo #1 (since raise your glass). Do we mean debuted at #1? Or just hitting #1? or do you mean female and exactly 30? Otherwise, 30+ year old women have hit #1 as solo fairly recently

My guess is you are referencing All I Want for Christmas is You & Truth Hurts which were released by women in their 20s.

This is Pulse, don't you know it's more impressive when a woman does it. my post was a jab at the fact that the industry is sexist (and their ageism is harsher toward women)... but turns out, so are you! It's sexist to point out that most posters on Pulse are more impressed by female statistics than male ones? okay dokey. On the other hand, I could make a case that most of the posters on Pulse are sexist against MEN rather easily as well.

Misogyny is rampant in the music industry; we know this. The GP likes their ladies young and beautiful, and many a pop star suddenly starts dwindling when she turns 30.

Also Nicki, Beyonce and Gaga's recent #1's from "Say So", "Savage" and "Rain on Me", respectively. Edit: oh, you said solo. Lol.

Maybe female statistics are more impressive because they are harder to achieve in a culture where most of the people at the top are men, perhaps?

Emily Lazar became the first woman to get nominated for Sound Engineering at the Grammys. In 2016. In 2018, a study by the Annenberg Inclusion Initiative at the University of Southern California Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism found that out of 899 individuals that received a Grammy nomination in a six year period between 2013 and 2018, only 9.3% were women. The study also reports that a mere 2% of all music producers identify as women.

It's sexist to point out that most posters on Pulse are more impressed by female statistics than male ones? okay dokey. On the other hand, I could make a case that most of the posters on Pulse are sexist against MEN rather easily as well. Focusing on rarer achievements is not the same thing as sexism
For example, between Raise Your Glass and Cardigan there were numerous solo #1's by solo men in their 30's and even 40's. The implication being that it's a lot harder to get #1 as a woman in your 30's.
So it's not sexist against men to pay more attention to solo #1's by women in their 30's when they're so much harder to achieve.
Beyond that, the vast majority of hate posts on Pulse are directed towards women beyond a couple specific songs such as Someone You Loved
