This would take the title of "best UB40 song" if it wasn't seven minutes long. I'm just going to keep posting "King" whenever the subject of "the best UB40 song" comes up

turns out Peter Case was in The Nerves & The Plimsouls...too bad his solo material never matched the quality of those bands

I just love the way this song ends. Probably would have ended up in my bottom 20 otherwise, but I love me a good climax in a song.

It says a lot about the strength of this list as a whole that "Riverside" didn't really get all that close to my top half.
I'm not surprised that it's low. I'm surprised that my #100 beat it.

Thankfully we only have one last song to deal with from these clowns in 1985 and we're done with them for good. Then we get to move on to that other band John Dynamite was in! 94

I don't think we're ranking BAD and Joe Strummer's Clash at the same time, are we? It would be a lot of fun to see which one would push themselves to the bottom faster.
(Spoiler: They both lose, unless it's "This is England".)

This didn't particularly stick out to me when I listened to it in the playlist, but the live version you linked to grabbed my attention more. Maybe I'll revisit the studio version later, because I was getting into the live performance much more.
