[ It’s not uncommon for featured artists to have more than one verse. The lead artist however is typically the one that owns the rights to the song...and that would be Cardi in this case. Cardi’s verses were already recorded when she sent it to Meg who liked it so much she sent two instead of the one Cardi expected. Cardi sent this song to others as well but decided no to include them. It’s Cardi’s song and concept though. The song itself was curated by a producer worked with on her last album. The creative direction of the video is all Cardi; Cardi’s team arranged for the choreography, dancers, and custom designed Mugler outfits and decor, using the relationship Cardi developed with the fashion house. Cardi’s team/record label also paid for everything including but not limited to co-vid testing for all participants. Word on the street is that Cardi spent $100,000 on the testing alone. This was hella of a creative look, design, and concept that all started with Cardi. She deserves credit as the lead, it’s not even a question. I just think it’s funny of you to insinuate Meg deserves lead credit as well when the song wasn’t hers; she didn’t contribute towards the budget; and the creative direction was all Cardi and her team. This breakdown was great and informative (I didn't know Cardi was that involved in the video creatively), but on the question of a guest artist getting a feature credit, a co-lead credit or no credit at all, arg991, it's all at the discretion of the main artist/the artist who owns the song. Cardi didn't need to offer creative direction for anything to own that right. It's her song and she retained the right to credit whoever appeared as a guest on it however she pleased. I’m aware of that. I said Cardi owner the rights to the song. I was just added context because the person I responded to implied Meg should be a lead simply because she submitted two verses. I wanted to provide context because it’s not uncommon for a featured guest to have two verses on someone else’s record. We’ve seen it often. Also, Cardi has creative discretion with all of her videos. See Money and Press as examples. She’s really into high fashion and artistic expression and is always drawing inspiration from real life instances. Press was inspired by the story of Aileen Wuornos who was executed for killing her rapist. Both songs would’ve had more YouTube streams had they not been age restricted. People were talking about Money for days. This time around, her team had a conversation with YouTube specifically to ensure it wasn’t age restricted. That’s why they used the censored - instead of the explicit -, version of the song.

Super impressive. And here is how many were from US compared to Global for those songs. There are a lot of kpop songs that get 100M+ streams globally (almost every week)
Date | Song | US | Global | US% | Apr 26 - May 2, 2019 | Me! | 28.4 | 129 | 22% | Jun 21 - Jun 27, 2019 | Senorita | 16.9 | 134 | 13% | Jan 18 - Jan24, 2019 | 7 Rings | 27.2 | 99.6 | 27% | Feb 8 - Feb 14, 2019 | buwygimb | 18.6 | 72.5 | 26% | Apr 5 - Apr 12, 2019 | OTR | 52.4 | 73 | 72% | May 8 - May 14, 2020 | Gooba | 50.3 | 142 | 35% | Jun 12 - June 18, 2020 | TROLLZ | 35.1 | 120 | 29% | 2 days | WAP | 30.8 | 57.5 | 54% |

Where can I get daily US Youtube numbers? Kworb is showing 27,111,139 streams for WAP only on saturday and I'm sure that's not right.

Weekly YouTube charts (you can chose which country): linkYou can click on artists to see their induvidual songs, like example Cardi B: linkYou can check in a specific country the top songs in the past 7 days/ 28 days /12 months (example USA): link
Note: For some reason on Firefox i can't change the country when i am on a specific artist and on Chrome i can. I don't know if its my end or not.
And i will repeat again: This numbers include User Generated Content.

Spotify 08/09/20 34(+11) Machine Gun Kelly - my ex's best friend 447,258 (+7,759)Play Date, Electric Love, and now Money Trees; TikTok's really reviving songs that should've been hits the first time. Can't wait to see Colors by Halsey, 3005 by Childish Gambino and Somebody Else by The 1975 to become hits! Go get that streaming monster hit king! Man, what a shame that such creative lyrical miracles weren't topping the charts beforehand! A change for the better, that's for sure!

Are the signed singles that artist have been doing announced on the day the song drops, or is there usually an announcement beforehand?

If MGK is going to have an actual organic hit I'm going to change my profile pic or something

My posts from last September, where I described Circles as ''The Voice, Hot AC, soccer mom bait'', have aged really well. Except, it topped both Hot AC & AC. There's rapping on that song?

Ok I'm 99% sure this is nonsense but I just have to ask if Move Ya Hips did in fact have 90k unreported sales and Ferg were to submit them right now could that actually send the song upward next week?

Sale transaction needs to happen during the tracking week. I believe if a physical component is present the sale counts for whenever the physical is shipped, starting this week, but I'm not sure if MYH had physical bundles.

^ yep if that was a possibility, every label would hold off sales and combine for a 2-week sales figure later. this is essentially how the UK charts worked until streaming started to factor in in 2014. (Ariana Grande's "Problem" was the first #1 of the streaming-era iirc.) labels would release the song, but wait weeks or months to put it on iTunes and get a frontloaded #1. now, granted nearly all artists did this, it was an even playing field, but it still ruined the accuracy of the chart.
