On Earth 2, Take What You Want became a hit. It even got to number one in January after a radio run. However, Blinding Lights flopped (Heartless cannibalized it, In Your Eyes became a medium sized hit tho). And Circles, while a hit, was no where near the top ten record. It left after radio dropped it in mid January.

But hey, if Earth 2 had Taylor releasing "Cruel Summer" as a hit single before "folklore" and Selena Gomez, Niall Horan, and Halsey not being so criminally slept on for their respective eras, I might reconsider it. Oh, and "On Chill" and "Be Kind" becoming bigger hits, and Pop Smoke and Juice WRLD getting the success they're currently having while still alive.

We’re getting closer and closer to the week circles first hit #1. That should show how big of a hit this is. The fact he outdid himself twice in not only performance, but longevity in comparison to rockstar and sunflower, goes to show how much of a superstar post really is

^A top 10 placement qualifies as a hit, no? :) Even if it weren't long-lasting. Plus, it cracked the top 40 at pop radio.

Probably “can we not argue about what a hit is,” which of course you weren’t, but it could have started up as it often does

Since WAP is confirmed #1 on the new global chart - pretty clear it is the Hot 100 #1 this week too

Since WAP is confirmed #1 on the new global chart - pretty clear it is the Hot 100 #1 this week too Global 200 doesn't include D2C which is where stans were mass-buying 24 copies though; but yeah it was 136k on Nielsen yesterday (BB could have shaved some more off today), which isn't enough for #1 anyway

jodak- I see that point. Thanks. :)
Gary- that is true, too. Also was top 30 in rock airplay. Maybe perhaps it wasn't pushed/promoted as much as it could have been.
The BTS mega-fans continue their strategic purchasing even past the first week? The dedication.

BTS stans buying music may be annoying to most of you but considering that the song placed 2nd on both global charts based on streams kind of speaks volumes. USA stans should probably learn to stream

USA stans should probably learn to stream I think it's more of the fact the global charts account for the entire planet, whereas the US is contained to the US (plus the number of crazy stans who've changed their VPN to the US). Figures they would be bigger on the global charts, they probably have more fans collectively outside the US.

They’re actually big here too and yes, millions of fans globally but this sounds like you’re saying that they don’t have as many fans here and that they use vpn. Back in the day when we had concerts, BTS had a sold out stadium tour here in the USA. Kpop fans in the USA especially are just notoriously terrible at streaming.

How can someone be good at streaming or bad at streaming for that matter?
If i like a song i will listen to it once/twice a day(the first week - untill i get bored of it), if i don't i won't stream it after the first listen.
Fans aren't leaving their streaming platforms to run a single fuсking song 24/7 = well they are bad at streaming.

Hypothetical example
If a BTS song gets streamed on average 1 million times in every state but in say Arizona- -- Some BTS fans gather together and set up their computers to stream it 10 million times to boost chart points, that would be removed from the final data.

Oh my gosh, breathe.
I mean that Kpop fans typically do not stream music. They buy. That’s what I meant by saying that USA fans needed to learn to stream.
Geez, I don’t know why I read this board sometimes
