Royal Blood dropping a new tune on my birthday? They shouldn't have!
Seriously, hope they bring it.

This song better reflect the muscle in that Ford classic pic.

I hear a cool guitar hook in that snippet. Hopefully that's a sign of a great song.

I liked the singles from the last album, but this is kind of dull. Probably won't listen to it again.

I thought this was pretty good! It doesn't hit as hard as their previous lead singles do, and they're doing a couple of different things, but this is solid from start to finish. I think the disappointment some people have is because they're restraining themselves a bit more than "Figure It Out" and "Lights Out" did, possibly because of the intention to submit to Alternative in a troubling environment for rock right now.
I don't think this will be an album standout but as a taste for the future this works just fine.

While it's poppier with having a dance beat and clapping included in the background, I don't mind this one at all. It still has some rocking guitar and certainly will be one to get stuck in my head for awhile.

Huh, I guess Royal Blood are trying their hand at dance-punk? This sounds somewhere between DFA and IDKHOW. I like it more than I expected to.

If this was a single from a random new band, it would sound like a pretty decent first attempt at creating something that fits the Alt format, but is also a little rougher around the edges.
As a first single from the band that I once proclaimed to be "the saviors of mainstream rock"...this can't be anything more than a letdown. I thought this might happen, but I was really, really hoping it wouldn't.
At least it's better than Highly Suspect's first single from their third album.

The chorus is kind of 'meh' lyrically but certain elements of this melodically are quite good...and memorable, of course. Solid song, overall, though. Check-plus.
This sounds more alt-friendly than their previous material, IMO, but then alternative is harder to predict right now, in my opinion, given its format changes in recent months, and this may leave reception toward even newer artists up in the air. We'll see how Royal Blood do...I hope this does well on both formats but needs to do well on at least one.

I wouldn't have put this sound together with the name Royal Blood, but it has aspects I like in that poprock themed guitar vibe, so I'm thinking thumbs up. It's no "I Only Lie When I Love You" cowbell heaven , but in a world where Mike Kaplan could be the musical antichrist I'll take it and run.

Been playing the hell out of this the past few days. I may prefer the sound they mined prior, but this is a grower. Thumbs up from me.

This is kind of catchy, but also doesn't really go anywhere and becomes stagnant after a while. Maybe it's a grower.

I dig this one. It reminds a bit of IDKHOW and Joywave, also I get Queens of the Stone Age Villains vibes.

Chorus is a little repetitive but then so are a lot of choruses (I'm never a fan of a threepeat of any line as a general rule). This to me sounds like Muse meets Glass Animals...maybe more Muse. Really rocking. Hopefully it'll break the 20-week barrier on multiple formats.
