Well i don't know weather zoomers/boomers/millenials/gen-X are carrying these numbers but here:
The most popular rock artists in USA 2020 (based on album units from entire catalogs - Nielsen Mid Year Report): #1 The Beatles
#2 Queen #3 Imagine Dragons
#4 Fleetwood Mac #5 Metallica
2019 it was:
#1 Queen - Queen had huge numbers thanks to the movie (which was released late 2018, but the teathrical run lasted in 2019)
#2 The Beatles - The Beatles had increased numbers thanks to 50th anniversary of 'Abbey Road'
3-5 is newer bands from this century
These are popular albums in the last 3/4 years: * Queen - Bohemian Rhapsody OST
* Elton John - Diamonds
* Queen - Greates Hits * Creedence Clearwater Revival - Chronicle: The 20 Greates Hits
* Journey - Greatest Hits
* Fleetwood Mac - Rumours * The Beatles - 1 * The Beatles - Abbey Road * Billy Joel - The Essentials * Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers - Greatest Hits * Guns N'Roses - Greatest Hits
* AC/DC - Back In Black * Metallica - Metallica * Eagles - Greatest Hits 1971-1975 * Beach Boys - The Very Best Of: Sounds Of Summer
* Bob Seger & the Silver Bullet Band - Greatest Hits * Nirvana - Nevermind * Rolling Stones - Hot Rocks 1964-1971 * Elvis Presley - The Essential
* Red Hot Chili Peppers - Greatest Hits
* Bon Jovi - Greatest Hits * Guns N'Roses - Appetite For Destruction
. . . P.S: i tried to put them in order popularity wise, the 1 & 2 are there thanks to the respective movies (even #3). Probably missed some albums.

Queen has had the #1 catalog album for most of the last year - the effect of the movie - long gone

Queen has had the #1 catalog album for most of the last year - the effect of the movie - long gone Queen has the #1 album in 2020 aswell. I was pointing out that the Bohemian Rhapsody OST is there thanks to the movie. Greatest hits by Queen would be #1 regardless of the movie.
Edit: i probably worded it badly. What i meant is Greatest Hits by Queen has twice the album units of Journey -GH, Rumours ... If it wasn't for the movie the advantage wouldn't be as big. The Greatest Hits by Queen would be #1 regardless.

The two 21 Savage songs barely over 1M on Spotify. Can't see top ten debuts on H100 for them. It's the Monday update and this is usually the day for lowest streams for the week. They'll rebound tomorrow.

pop smoke's posthumous album is doing better than Juice WRLD's worldwide?? crazy Pop's got What You Know Bout Love, Mood Swings, The Woo, and For the Night. Juice only has Come & Go and Wishing Well (and to a lesser extent Smile) so make sense Pop is doing better. It's still such a shame all of this success was posthumous, for both rappers.

We're living in kind of a new era where more and more people pay attention to the charts, aren't we? More demand, more service, and that's how you get the Rolling Stone, Spotify and BB Global charts.
I'm down. As someone who's recently gotten into Cash Box and Record World, it's nice to get more coverage on today's hits than just Billboard. Though it inevitably leads to a butt-load of unremarkable #1's.

Countless "reports" like this have come out over the years about when she would be dropping new music and they've all been false. I'd wait for a more verifiable source or better yet, Adele herself.

Yep like for instance the year round, year-end chart obsession that exists here, have not really seen that elsewhere
