Her humor being sanitized has been a problem since Hot Pink dropped, it didn't just start this year.

Also she was never "cancelled". The fake rumors came out but she cleared it up. The backlash lasted a week and everyone moved on

Following the death of Eddie Van Halen on Oct. 6, his namesake band’s catalog of songs were streamed over 31 million times in the U.S., according to initial reports to Nielsen Music/MRC Data.

On Oct. 6-7, Van Halen's collected songs earned 31.19 million on-demand streams -- up 1,369% compared to 2.12 million clicks on Oct. 4-5.

The band’s top five most-streamed songs on Oct. 6-7 were all tunes that were originally released between 1978 and 1984. The group's lone No. 1 Billboard Hot 100 single “Jump” leads the way with 2.33 million streams (a gain of 554% compared to the previous two days), followed by “Panama” (1.97 million, up 653%), “Runnin’ With the Devil” (1.78 million, up 925%), “Hot for Teacher” (1.51 million, up 1,044%) and “Eruption” (1.37 million, up 2,662%).


Fans aren’t just streaming Van Halen’s music, but also buying it. The act’s albums and songs generated 112,000 in sales on Oct. 6-8 -- up 4,896% compared to the 2,000 sold on Oct. 3-5.

The group’s 1978 self-titled debut album (which includes "Runnin' With the Devil" and "Eruption") sold nearly 6,000 copies on Oct. 6-8 (the act’s biggest-selling album in that time frame) and could re-enter the top 50 of the Billboard 200 albums chart dated Oct. 17 (reflecting the sales and streaming week ending Oct. 8). The band’s 1984 album (which contains “Jump,” "Panama" and "Hot for Teacher") may also stage a return to the list, as could the greatest-hits package Best of Volume 1.

Van Halen peaked at No. 19 on the Billboard 200 chart in 1978, while 1984 peaked at No. 2 in 1984, and Best of Volume 1 marked the band's fifth (of five) No. 1s in 1996. All told, the group has logged 16 charting albums on the Billboard 200. Of those 16 albums, the act had a streak of 14 top 10s in a row between 1979's Van Halen II and 2012's A Different Kind of Truth.

And another week, another frustration at "Shake It Off" never hitting #1. The song was stuck at #2 for more weeks than I expected. From "Boulevard Of Broken Dreams" to "Don't Cha", 2005 was quite the year for smash hits blocked from the top spot.
