With the 1990s Hot 100 rankdowns currently on pause I figured now is as good a time as ever to announce the next installment of Lost Hits rankdowns: the Lost Hits of the 1990s! Much like those for the 1980s, these rankdowns will cover songs that missed out on making the year-end top 100 lists and will follow a similar format to the Lost Hits rankdowns I've been hosting recently. For these rankdowns I've split the decade up into 3 parts: Early 90s, Mid 90s, and Late 90s. For each time frame there will be 2 rankdowns, one that covers songs that peaked in the top 50 on the Hot 100 and another that will feature songs that peaked in the bottom half of the Hot 100.
This first rankdown features 50 of the most popular and noteworthy songs from the first third of the decade that missed out on making a year-end rankdown (Hot 100 or rock chart). All of these songs peaked in the top 50 on the Hot 100 during this time frame. The first 15 songs on the list peaked during the 1990 chart year, the next 15 during the 1991 chart year, followed by 15 songs from the 1992 chart year, and finally 5 more that peaked before April 1993 (10 more from 1993 will be in the Mid 90s rankdown).
If you've participated in any other rankdowns you know how these work. Just listen to all of the songs and rank them from 1 (best) to 50 (worst) based on your personal preference. PM me your list, and I will compile everyone's rankings and present the results. The due date is currently set for Sunday, December 6th at 9PM EST. Have fun and happy ranking!!!
