Imagine if, in 2 or 3 years, country has completely dominated the Hot 100 because of streaming and whatever else and every week the discussion around what’s going to be number one always includes at least one country song.
That’d be

The thing is positions is already kind of flopping because nobody seems to actually like it.

No way in hell Luke Combs in #1 after 12 hours on Apple Music where RAP MUSIC is usually the dominant genre by far.

The last time a pure Non Idol country song to top Hot 100 was Amazed almost 21 years ago. Amazing.

Luke Combs is most likely not topping the Hot 100 chart.

Honestly #1 is starting to feel meaningless anyway. So many #1s this year are just based on hype or having one big sales week.

Well, we know what Luke's next single after Better Together is gonna be.

Fuck it, even though it's not gonna happen, at least not this week., I'd much rather see Luke Combs or Jack Harlow get the top spot than Ariana being gift wrapped yet another undeserved number one.

f**k it, even though it's not gonna happen, at least not this week., I'd much rather see Luke Combs or Jack Harlow get the top spot than Ariana being gift wrapped yet another undeserved number one. ?? what? her first two #1s spent 7 and 8 weeks, respectfully at number one so I find a hard time finding the argument that these were not deserved. I will agree with Stuck With U although I personally believe that song was made to do more work for Justin than Ariana, and Rain on Me, while not sticking around forever, was not a complete cheap grab at a number one at all (it got up to #2 on AM for gods sake, not an easy feat for a dance-pop female collab). You don't have to like her, but you can't argue that the majority of her success is extremely deserved.

Yeah, the only one remotely "undeserved" was "Stuck With U" but that was also a timely duet that has special circumstances surrounding its release.

WANEGBT: US Hot Country Songs (Billboard) 1 US Billboard Hot 100 1 I always think this one "shouldn't count," but then I remember that it peaked at #13 on Country Airplay, which isn't bad. "Amazed" was of course a bigger country airplay hit, but it, like WANEGBT, was a crossover success on radio.

Luke Combs tracks are performing exceptionally well on Apple. It will be interesting to see how they perform on Spotify.

That’d be I guess just for times like these(Country single getting no.1 in 12H), hitsdd made this article. COUNTRY STREAMING IS A THING.

Isn't country super big on Amazon music too? Does anyone know how well Combs is doing on there?

^Looking at the charts right now, "Forever After All" is No. 8 on the Top Songs chart. "Better Together" is 26.

Where do you see the up to the minute Apple Music chart you all keep citing? All I see is one without any new releases.

Websites can do whatever they want, I have seen free downloads before. They can do it, but they won't be counted by Billboard, the minimum single price is 0.39 Billboard established this along with 3.49 minimum album price in 2011 after the Lady Gaga case.

positions is #2 on both itunes and apple music, being blocked by luke combs on both platforms. It looks like ariana has youtube and will probably have spotify and radio on her side though. i also see website sales helping her a lot.

Isn't 39 cents the minimum in a single's first four weeks of release?
