the entire album is Top 20 on Apple Music's daily chart, and Ariana occupies the entire Top 5.

π The pain of people mentioning K-Dot's name making me think there was some announcement for his album. I think there would need to be a perfect storm for him to even come close to break the record which involves the hype, the reception to his singles, the length of his album, and the strength of the streaming environment. He will have the hype but I'm not so sure on the other factors just yet. I'm absolutely not implying that he'd break the record, that just seems unreasonable and really I can't see any artist pulling that off. He is, however, one of the only two artists that I see being able to pull off 500/600M+, with the other one obviously being Drake.

Rihanna could do it too tbh, Rihanna is like one of the only female artists in the music industry that can still get a large portion of male streamers, plus she has tons of hype and is already a streaming force. I think people are overestimating Adele's streaming power, her singles are usually huge and her album sells like crazy but I don't consider Adele a streaming force on the likes of Taylor, Billie, Ariana, Drake, Kendrick, etc.

He's probably releasing soon, especially since he was supposed to release the album this year. Let's see what he and Baby Keem have in store.

Hello was released in 2015, and YT was the #1 streaming platform. She broke the 24h VEVO record, and managed to hit 1 billion views in 87 days (still a record). In the US, Hello debuted with 61 million streams (only behind Harlem Shake at the time); out of 61 million - 18,7 million streams were from Spotify...and 18,7 million is huge even in 2020 (2,67 million per day).

Rihanna is one of the very few Female artists (if not the only one) whom generates a large portion of Male listeners from the Hip-Hop demographic so theyβll surely be flocking to AM and Spotify to stream, especially if her lead single is Hip-Hop influenced. Almost every Hip-Hop star wants to collaborate with her also. As for Adele... I still believe itβs too early to say. She achieved very notable streaming accomplishments in 2015 when Streaming was still in its infant phase. β25β has sold 21M pure units to date worldwide and recently passed 3B streams on Spotify. Today, some artists albums have moved over 3B streams on Spotify but less than 500K pure units in total.

^^^ What 'Hello' managed to do in 2015 on Spotify US peaking with 2,758,752 streams,
in 2016 only One Dance managed - 2,767,175.
In 2017 HUMBLE./Look What You Made Me Do/DNA./Rockstar/Passionfrut/ELEMENT. Only 6 songs from 4 artists.
What Adele did in 2015 streaming wise in 2016/17 only 4 people managed to reach/surpass.
But if the question is will she break the streaming record (746M)? - NO. Noone will. (*talking about 2021 here*) Will she get 400M+ -most likely, 500M+ possible ...
Kendrick might break 500M because of hype, but overall i don't see him having bigger album than DAMN. comercially. I don't expect him to make "mainstream sounding" album like DAMN. with his next release.
Drizzy/Cole/K-dot have all peaked comercially (2018/2014/2017).
Only artists i am expecting to hit /can possibly hit 500M or more are Drake/Kendrick/Post Malone/Adele/Rihanna/Billie (if she doesn't go indie route). Adele, Rihanna & Kendrick are possibillities because of hype. Wild cards: Travis Scott & Cardi B as the rising stars. Ed Sheeran as someone who smashes streaming Globally but not so much in the US.

That will go away tomorroe Of course it will but that wasnβt the question ;) Yes, it looks like βMonster Mashβ is a bigger hit today than itβs been on 10/31! If it re-enters the Hot 100 weβll know for sure, since it hasnβt done that in decades

It seems like everything except maybe βThrillerβ (come through, cancel culture) is over-performing this Halloween... is it just me, or does listening to Halloween music alone in quarantine sound extremely unenjoyable?

The streaming numbers are gonna be a mess for Ariana, I think they'll drop compared to previous projections at this point.
"For the Night" is like barely doing 1 million daily on Apple Music. I'm very surprised she now only has 2 songs above it, and also 2 songs top 5 and the second day isn't even finished yet.
Also this release week just wasn't smart in general. Halloween is gonna bite into streams (people are gonna be listening to classics today, at parties, trick or treating, etc) and I'm sure Election Day will also bite into streams too (people will be voting, watching coverage, etc all day). That's 2 national disruptive days for streaming music in one week.
Ariana also should've released another music video, done virtual performances or something, etc this week. She feels pretty invisible even despite the world circumstances.

While the album is still fresh, can I just say how massively disappointing "off the table" is? Even if Love Me Harder didn't exist, it's just not a good. They sound decent but neither of them have good interplay

They sound decent but neither of them have good interplay you're entitled to your own (wrong) opinion but let me tell you why it's really good. it's giving 90's R&B duet vibes which I love. on top of that, the lyrical content is just so emotional and deep. Ariana sings to her lost lover (Mac) and Abel sings from the perspective of someone Ariana's seeing currently (Dalton). allegedly, Ariana wrote her part herself, texted Abel, and got his part, written by him. it's a wonderful collaboration. it's a continuation of "Love Me Harder" in a lot of ways.

I criticized positions for being wallpaper....and that has not changed one bit having listened to the album twice. But I'll say this: it's a competent paint job at least? Like if I was doing a photo OP and had this as my background I wouldn't be embarassed? There are tons of other walls and backgrounds I would much rather use but you could also have worse wallpapers. Keep going; Iβm loving this metaphor

Off the table is definitely one of the worst songs on the record, which is a shame because Love Me Harder is one of my fav sex songs of all time

Thriller shot past its previous YouTube record by over 500k, it had over 2,5m views together with the shortened version. This looks more like the people celebrated that Safechuck been thrown out of court with only the ticking time bomb Robson left. These frauds deserve all what is happening to them right now.

I do find it ridiculous that people already are celebrating Christmas, AIWFCIY reenters the Hot 100 earlier and earlier every year and it feels so strange. The start of the holiday season is always after Thanksgiving for me, so seeing millions jamming to Christmas music the day after Halloween is a bizarre concept.
Poor Halloween tho, it continues to get fucked every year by Christmas. You get maybe 2 weeks of Halloween then it's like 2.5 months of Christmas.

Poor Halloween tho, it continues to get f**ked every year by Christmas. You get maybe 2 weeks of Halloween then it's like 2.5 months of Christmas. It's probably an American thing but I think it's natural some people start preparing for Christmas after Halloween. America is the only country that culturally has Thanksgiving. Everyone else starts shopping and preparing for the family partiesafter Halloween.
