time to give some of my favorite extras some recognition.
CRX - Ways to Fake It My favorite of all the extras so far. Also one I charted obviously. This song was like The Cars cruising around with "Stacy's Mom" in a towel in a Corvette Stingray. Had it been on this list I would have put it top 10. True story.
Atlas Genius - Stockholm Another big top 10 hot on my chart. Everyone knows that "Molecules" became my #1 song of that year, and I charted at least three more songs off the album. "Stockholm" was very underrated, and it was around this time that I became very selective about what songs I considered downloadable from the Alternative charts. This was surely one of them. It had a cool Muse vibe to it , and I Love the upbeat chorus.
Metallica - Hardwired Classic Metallica sound with a sort of Punk Rock delivery vibe in the verses.
Maybird - Turning Into Water I didn't recall this one, but since I am previewing all of them at least once I found this one to sound more like what I think Alternative chart should be. I really enjoyed the psychedelic vibe of the melody. Could have been Cage The Elephant, and probably would have been a top 10 hit too.
Chevelle - Joyride (Omen) Not as melodic as I want my Alternative Metal to sound like, but it is Metal, and I support all the hard guitars you can cram into an ALternative chart. Especially in this Mike Kaplan era.
Grace Mitchell - NoLo I liked this one and I also remember charting it for a month or so. The hi-hats killed its chart run early, but the melody is really upbeat and melodic so I couldn't turn my back on it completely. I also liked her vocal tones, except where the hi-hats come in. Then she sounds robotic, but her true vocals sound really good.
Red Sun Rising - Emotionless I liked two songs from this band. The first charting single and "Deathwish". This one has some hard guitar parts, and sounds better to me now then it did back then. I think there was just more hard rock songs I liked better.
Clearest Blue and Demi Lovato's .....I mean Fall Out Boy's "Irresistible" goes without saying that both went top 20 on my personal charts. The biggest factor? You guessed it. The female vocals.
Thrice - Black Honey This one ended up in my "dammit I wish I had charted it back then" pile. Not the most melodic fire in town, but i really dug the build up to the harder Metal chorus. It sounded really angry , and it made the song sound more attractive to me.
*The rest of the extras are not abysmal, but were not composed with me in mind, so I just leave them alone. ;)

it's pretty close to the deadline, so how about a survey?
What songs do you think will be in the top ten? What song do you think will win?
What songs do you think will be in the bottom ten? What song do you think will be #100?
What songs do you think will have a high SD? What song do you think will be the highest?
What songs do you think will have a low SD? What song do you think will be the lowest?
What song in your top ten do you expect to lose first? When?
What song in your bottom ten do you expect to lose last? When?
What songs do you think will rise the most from their finish in the old 2016 rankdown? What will be the highest jump?
What songs do you think will drop the most from their finish in the old 2016 rankdown? What will be the biggest drop?
21 songs were added to the rankdown compared to the original as a result of me using the current no repeats rule for rock chart rankdowns. Out of these songs (everything below "Born Again Teen" on the year end list), what songs will be the highest and lowest?
What will be the highest song/order of songs for these artists:Bear Hands: "2 AM" or "Boss"? BØRNS: "10,000 Emerald Pools" or "American Money"? Cage the Elephant: "Mess Around" or "Trouble"? Coldplay: "Adventure of a Lifetime" or "Up&Up"? Foals: "Mountain At My Gates" or "What Went Down"? Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats: "I Need Never Get Old" or "S.O.B."? Nothing but Thieves: "Trip Switch" or "Wake Up Call"? Panic! At the Disco: "Don’t Threaten Me with a Good Time" or "Victorious"? Silversun Pickups: "Circadian Rhythm (Last Dance)" or "Nightlight"? The 1975: "Love Me" or "The Sound"? The Struts: "Kiss This" or "Put Your Money On Me"? twenty one pilots: "Heathens", "Ride", or "Stressed Out"? Weezer: "King of the World" or "Thank God For Girls"? I'm not going to do all the questions but I will do a few.
What songs do you think will be in the top ten? What song do you think will win?
I think there's a pretty good chance the winner will be a Twenty-One Pilots song. I suspect "Stressed Out" or "Ride". All three of their songs are top 10 contenders for that matter. "Nightlight" by Silversun Pickups is a dark horse for the #1.
What songs do you think will be in the bottom ten? What song do you think will be #100?
I really, really despise "Unsteady" and I know I'm not alone in that, but whether it'll be #100 I don't know. "Roots" is also a strong candidate for #100. Imagine Dragons are becoming the Nickelback of the 2010's I could see this song getting tanked hard.
What song in your top ten do you expect to lose first? When?
There is no way on God's green Earth that my #9 makes the top 50. I expect it'll be gone in the 60s or 70s.
What song in your bottom ten do you expect to lose last? When?
My #99. I think it'll make the top 40 before it leaves.
What will be the highest song/order of songs for these artists:
Bear Hands: "2 AM" or "Boss"? X Ambassadors: "Low Life" or "Unsteady"?

What songs do you think will be in the top ten? What song do you think will win?Radiohead, both NBT songs, maybe both Foals songs, Phantogram, maybe Band of Horses. What songs do you think will be in the bottom ten? What song do you think will be #100?I think the general consensus is “7 Years” is a definite #100? I’m hoping “Girl Crush”, “New Bohemia”, “Don’t Threaten Me With A Good Time”, “Roots”, “Gone”, “Wow”, “Thank God for Girls” and other trash heaps help round out the bottom 10. What songs do you think will have a high SD? What song do you think will be the highest? Maybe “Up&Up” (I know I can’t be the only supporter for that). I can also see “Thank God for Girls” and the P!ATD vehicles being a bit divisive. Maybe “Brazil” because of the vocals? What songs do you think will have a low SD? What song do you think will be the lowest?“7 Years”, “Girl Crush”, and “New Bohemia” are all pretty damn bad. I do not see many supporters for those. As for good songs, I’m going to with “Burn the Witch”, “Casual Party”, and again the NBT and Foals songs, because how the hell can you hate them? What song in your top ten do you expect to lose first? When? 5, 7, 8, and 9 are the ones I can see losing earliest. Maybe 50s at the latest though. What song in your bottom ten do you expect to lose last? When? For 91, 96, and 97, I think they’re pretty bad but they may be divisive. I really don’t know, but I don’t expect those to live past the 70s.
Now here’s this really long spoiler. What will be the highest song/order of songs for these artists:Bear Hands: "2 AM" or "Boss"? ”Boss” was teetering on bad. Honestly their worst charting single. BØRNS: "10,000 Emerald Pools" or "American Money"? Both good. Cage the Elephant: "Mess Around" or "Trouble"? ”Mess Around” is one of their most unpopular hits if my understanding is correct, but I still like it. Coldplay: "Adventure of a Lifetime" or "Up&Up"? Honestly unlikely but I can dream. Foals: "Mountain At My Gates" or "What Went Down"? Both are great. Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats: "I Need Never Get Old" or "S.O.B."? S.O.B. is honestly a guilty pleasure. Nothing but Thieves: "Trip Switch" or "Wake Up Call"? I honestly prefer “Wake Up Call” a little bit but both are great. Panic! At the Disco: "Don’t Threaten Me with a Good Time" or "Victorious"? Neither are very good. Silversun Pickups: "Circadian Rhythm (Last Dance)" or "Nightlight"? Both are good. I prefer “Nightlight” though. The 1975: "Love Me" or "The Sound"? Both are good. I can see these being close. The Struts: "Kiss This" or "Put Your Money On Me"? “Kiss This” is the better song by far. twenty one pilots: "Heathens", "Ride", or "Stressed Out"? ”Stressed Out” prevailed in 2016 but I can see “Ride” going further now. Helps that it’s the best of the three. Weezer: "King of the World" or "Thank God For Girls"? Absolutely “King of the World”. Not hard when it’s going up against that POS. One of their worst songs. X Ambassadors: "Low Life" or "Unsteady"? ”Low Life” is somewhat better but that isn’t saying a lot.

Been a while since I answered one of these
What songs do you think will be in the top ten? What song do you think will win? Trip Switch wins (and Wake Up Call might be top 10 too), both Foals songs, at least one SSPU song, Life Itself, Dark Necessities. Maybe Run or Hide, YDGMHA or Life Itself will be underdogs. Burn the Witch will probably be close too
What songs do you think will be in the bottom ten? What song do you think will be #100? New Bohemia (#100), Roots, 7 Years, That's All I Need, Up&Up, Girl Crush.
What songs do you think will have a high SD? What song do you think will be the highest? Pretty Pimpin', all TOP songs, The Sound of Silence, This Girl
What songs do you think will have a low SD? What song do you think will be the lowest? New Bohemia, Good Help (Is Hard to Find), Going the Distance, In Your Arms, Troublemaker? Not sure if I can pick a lowest.
What song in your top ten do you expect to lose first? When? Probably my #2, I'll say in the 30s/40s.
What song in your bottom ten do you expect to lose last? When? do I have to answer this
What songs do you think will rise the most from their finish in the old 2016 rankdown? What will be the highest jump? Hopefully "Loud(y)" and "Casual Party"
What songs do you think will drop the most from their finish in the old 2016 rankdown? What will be the biggest drop? All TOP songs
21 songs were added to the rankdown compared to the original as a result of me using the current no repeats rule for rock chart rankdowns. Out of these songs (everything below "Born Again Teen" on the year end list), what songs will be the highest and lowest? Highest: "Burn the Witch". "Dancing on Glass" will likely be pretty high too Lowest: "New Bohemia"
What will be the highest song/order of songs for these artists:
Bear Hands: "2 AM" or "Boss"? BØRNS: "10,000 Emerald Pools" or "American Money"? Cage the Elephant: "Mess Around" or "Trouble"? Coldplay: "Adventure of a Lifetime" or "Up&Up"? The Struts: "Kiss This" or "Put Your Money On Me"? twenty one pilots: "Heathens", "Ride", or "Stressed Out"? Weezer: "King of the World" or "Thank God For Girls"? X Ambassadors: "Low Life" or "Unsteady"?

alright, we're now technically closed but since I won't be revealing until tomorrow I'll give this time as a last chance, if you can send me a list before like, tomorrow afternoon (in est, at least) I'll probably accept it
in the meantime the survey's always open to answer, and I added some questions I forgot to include initially

What songs do you think will be in the top ten? What song do you think will win? - I think Foals could be a lock with both songs – I could see "What Went Down" missing barely, however. "Life Itself" should be able to get there this time with the new crop of posters considering it won a WTM seed and did very well in the finals. Nothing but Thieves should be a shoo-in with both songs. "Nightlight" should be another safe bet. I think dark horses for the top 10 could be "Run or Hide" which barely missed in the first one, and "Pretty Pimpin'" finished top 10 in 2016 AAA, so I think it could do it here again. For #1, my guess is going to "Mountain At My Gates" with "Trip Switch" being right behind.
What songs do you think will be in the bottom ten? What song do you think will be #100? - If "7 Years" is not the #100, I am leaving this site forever. "Roots" should be here again. "New Bohemia" will probably be here, as well as "Circles" and "Girl Crush". I could see "Up&Up", "HandClap", and "Unsteady" finding their way here, or they just barely miss the bottom 10. "That's All I Need" will probably be here too because Pulse doesn't like fun.
What songs do you think will have a high SD? What song do you think will be the highest? - I could see Panic! At The Disco having both of their songs with high SDs. "Loud(y)" for sure won't be #99 like it was in the original, but I think the newfound high rankers will be combatted with people who still rank it low and give it a high SD.
What songs do you think will have a low SD? What song do you think will be the lowest? - "7 Years" and "Roots" towards the bottom. "Mountain At My Gates" and "Trip Switch" should be universally liked.
What song in your top ten do you expect to lose first? When? - Not going to answer this, lol.
What song in your bottom ten do you expect to lose last? When? - Also not going to answer this, lol.
What songs do you think will rise the most from their finish in the old 2016 rankdown? What will be the highest jump? - "Loud(y)" should see a big boost here. There was no reason it should have been #99 in the original. I could see it climbing into the top half this time around. "Life Itself" should get a nice little boost into the top 10 after finishing at like #26 last time. "Casual Party" should see a healthy boost too, as that was unfairly shafted in the original.
What songs do you think will drop the most from their finish in the old 2016 rankdown? What will be the biggest drop? - twenty one pilots is going to get dropkicked with all three of their songs here. I could see them all missing the top half after "Stressed Out" somehow hit top 10 in the original.
21 songs were added to the rankdown compared to the original as a result of me using the current no repeats rule for rock chart rankdowns. Out of these songs (everything below "Born Again Teen" on the year end list), what songs will be the highest and lowest? - "Burn the Witch", "Pretty Pimpin'", and "Dancing on Glass" should all do pretty well in this. "Delilah", "Lights On", "Bury It" and "Cry Baby" should do pretty well as well, but not to the magnitude of the previous three. For poor showings from the new ones, "In Your Arms", "Your Love Could Start a War", and "New Song" probably aren't going to do all that great, while "New Bohemia" and "Girl Crush" probably finish bottom 10. I think "Work This Body" might be a dark horse candidate for doing way poorer than people would think.
X Ambassadors: "Low Life" or "Unsteady"?

My first post is honestly a big ass mess and I want to answer the additional questions so it’s new post time!
What songs do you think will rise the most from their finish in the old 2016 rankdown? What will be the highest jump? “Brazil”, “Casual Party”, “S.O.B.”, “Loud(y)”, and maybe “Ditmas” are songs I can see having significant boosts. I need to know why people hated “Loud(y)” so much in 2016 lol.
What songs do you think will drop the most from their finish in the old 2016 rankdown? What will be the biggest drop? “Good Grief” will not be anywhere near #3. I don’t see “Adventure of a Lifetime” going as high as #27 this time. I don’t think “The Sound of Silence” isn’t going to be as high as #28. TØP are going to experience drops, and I don’t see blink-182 and Bishop making the top 50 this time.
21 songs were added to the rankdown compared to the original as a result of me using the current no repeats rule for rock chart rankdowns. Out of these songs (everything below "Born Again Teen" on the year end list), what songs will be the highest and lowest? “Burn the Witch”, “Dancing on Glass”, “Delilah”, and “Pretty Pimpin” are songs I can see doing pretty well. As for the new bad songs, I’ll be highly confused if y’all let “Girl Crush” and “New Bohemia” escape the bottom 10.

Top 10 Predictions (that are likely to not be even close to true): Nightlight, What Went Down, Wolves Without Teeth, Wake Up Call, The Sound, Circadian Rhythm (Last Dance), Mountain At My Gates, Put Your Money On Me, You Don't Get Me High Anymore, Good Help (Is So Hard To Find)
Can't say I have much of a pulse on what's liked and what's not liked. I don't know anything about the original rankdown either, but it seems like a safe guess that the more mainstream big hits (twenty one pilots, Coldplay, Fitz & the Tantrums, Lukas Graham, Strumbellas, etc.) will drop more.
As for the highest song for the artist: Bear Hands: Can't say I care for either, but I guess 2 AM is more memorable. BØRNS: 10,000 Emerald Pools has the best song title here, if nothing else. Cage the Elephant: Mess Around. Trouble is too slow. Coldplay: Adventure of a Lifetime Foals: Mountain At My Gates probably, but What Went Down has a chance. Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats: S.O.B. Nothing but Thieves: Absolutely no clue. Panic! At the Disco: Don’t Threaten Me with a Good Time Silversun Pickups: Honestly both have around the same chance. Wouldn't be surprised if they finished close to each other. The 1975: The Sound The Struts: Put Your Money On Me twenty one pilots: Ride seems to do the best of the three. X Ambassadors: Low Life

I am not qualified to respond to questions regarding the previous 2016 rankdown but I will answer this one:
21 songs were added to the rankdown compared to the original as a result of me using the current no repeats rule for rock chart rankdowns. Out of these songs (everything below "Born Again Teen" on the year end list), what songs will be the highest and lowest?
"Burn The Witch", "Bury It", and "Dancing On Glass" should do pretty well, I think. I will go out on a limb and predict that "Your Love Will Start A War" and "New Song" will get into the top half.
I don't expect "Girl Crush" and "New Bohemia" to get very far.

Goona do these in the unrealistic spirit of Doc Indie Party RockWhat songs do you think will be in the top ten? What song do you think will win?wishfull thinking, but all my top 10. What songs do you think will be in the bottom ten? What song do you think will be #100?I'm hoping at least one 21p's song will be #100 as for the rest of the bottom 10. With so many stinkers this year it could really vary. What songs do you think will have a high SD? What song do you think will be the highest? One of the most 80's sounding song always has tankers, and one of the most hybrid sounding stinkers always has fans. What songs do you think will have a low SD? What song do you think will be the lowest?Either a 1975 song or "Mountain At My Gates"What song in your top ten do you expect to lose first? When?probably the most obnoxious sounding one. When you guys get tired of the "yeah-oh's" What song in your bottom ten do you expect to lose last? When?Without giving anything away. probably one with "rattlesnake" Hi-hats. What songs do you think will rise the most from their finish in the old 2016 rankdown? What will be the highest jump?"the Sound Of Silence" What songs do you think will drop the most from their finish in the old 2016 rankdown? What will be the biggest drop?21 pilots and Panic! At The Disco have really fallen from grace with one time fans. 21 songs were added to the rankdown compared to the original as a result of me using the current no repeats rule for rock chart rankdowns. Out of these songs (everything below "Born Again Teen" on the year end list), what songs will be the highest and lowest? "Dancing On Glass" should dance it's way to the top 30, and "Three Burning Girls" "This Girl" should burn in the rubble. What will be the highest song/order of songs for these artists: not entirely my choices, but...
Bear Hands: "2 AM" or "Boss"? BØRNS: "10,000 Emerald Pools" or "American Money"? Cage the Elephant: "Mess Around" or "Trouble"? Coldplay: "Adventure of a Lifetime" or "Up&Up"? Hopefully all around the same range. Weezer: "King of the World" or "Thank God For Girls"? X Ambassadors: "Low Life" or "Unsteady"?
