"7/11" always have been a terrible song, and not in a good way. Is mediocre an one of Bey's worst songs ever released. "Treat You Better" aged like milk out of the fridge, I can't even hear it anymore.

ROUND THREE - RESULTS
Welcome to the third elimination ceremony! I can tell just by looking at these results that the competition is getting crazier, and you can't just get by with just a mediocre performance. One person stood out above the rest for this round and that person is...NICK PERKINS!Daft Punk - "Something About Us"Your performance has been super consistent so far! Can this season finally be the time when you shine? Keep this up!Sambalada: "I believe this is a style that Daft Punk rarely ventures in, and I gotta say they pull it off very well. However, the song itself doesn't interest me much. I can't really pinpoint a negative thing about this song, it's just not really pulling my excitement." (7.3)Fearless: "I didn’t realize Daft Punk could pull off this type of song well! The result is a funky and almost a “lost in the music” type of experience. Had a good balance between the sung parts and instrumental parts - otherwise the autotune probably would’ve been too much." (8.5)Matt: "Didn't expect to see daft punk here but i'm always excited to hear more from these guys, and with the funky instrumental and the overall vibe to the song I'd say this definitely fits. There are others I prefer from Discovery but this is still a very well-composed track and makes me think about doing a discog dive for Daft Punk." (9.1)Violet: "I own discovery on vinyl and this song is honestly one of my favorites on the album. what a solid instrumental here. probably one of their best with how layered it is. the vocals aren’t around much but honestly that isn’t a problem. though when they are around they also sound really good. just overall a nice song to drive to in a dense area at 12 am." (9.8)Willapted: "Quite an incredible song this one. The atmosphere created by the production is truly immersive and I can picture myself driving through a city late at night when I listen to it. I’m also a big fan of the vocals on here, whilst there aren’t many lyrics, I think they’re very effective." (9.5)Tay: "I feel like a broken record lmao but I loved the vibe to this one as well. Nice beat. One thing I liked was that it started out with a piano, leading me to think it’d be up my alley (I am a piano ballad HOE) and then it switched up on me into something interesting enough to keep me hooked." (8.5)TOTAL: 52.7 | AVERAGE: 8.78The second best is...MAYMAN!Beyoncé feat. Jay Z - "Crazy In Love"Two second call-outs in a row is definitely a sign of good consistency. Maybe next time it's your turn to win?Sambalada: "Definition of iconic. Everyone knows when that horn comes out it's gonna be one hell of a fun ride, and the rest of the song doesn't disappoint. It will forever be a Bey classic." (9.8)Fearless: "I had always thought this was a little overrated, but I don’t think that’s the case now. I think the chorus is a bit lacking but I think that’s because the horns are too iconic; that also happens to be my favorite part of the song along with the bridge. Her vocals are on point as well." (8.9)Matt: "This is more straight-up pop than r&b, but that doesn't mean that it isn't a pretty dope song and one of Beyonce's best in her 2000s output. The horn line, Jay-Z's verses, and the chorus all absolutely kill." (8.5)Violet: "Damn why don’t you two get a room." (7.8)Willapted: "It’s good, probably a tad overrated on here, but its popularity is well deserved. Not a whole lot to say about this one that hasn’t been said countless times before." (7.6)Tay: "She’s got a point. She’s an icon, she’s a legend, and she IS the moment. Now come on now!" (10)TOTAL: 52.6 | AVERAGE: 8.77The third best is...WALT91!Aaliyah - "More Than A Woman"So far your placement gas been going up every round. Just keep this energy up the whole season and maybe you'll be a two-time winner?!Sambalada: "What happened to Aaliyah is a tragedy. She already has 4-5 classics, and each one of them is great. MTAW is fantastic. The production is hot and Aaliyah delivers a great vocal performance, as well as a strong melodical structure. This track is banging and it kept growing on me with every listen." (8.5)Fearless: "Aaliyah would no doubt be one of my favorite R&B singers if her estate manages to put her albums on streaming services but it hasn’t happened… Anyways, I love the production on this one (Aaliyah & Timbaland is a fire combo). I honestly don’t mind the repetitiveness of the chorus, it’s so smooth and catchy!" (9.1)Matt: "I like this Aaliyah tune a lot more, as Timbaland's production just hits all the right spots for me and manages to be pretty uplifting and groovy over the course of the track. The chorus is also pretty good, especially when complemented by the strings hitting at key points in the instrumental to give it some new energy. prijedlog" (8.4)Violet: "This sounds kinda cool ngl. i wish there was more for me to say outside of that but cool song with a cool sound." (8.3)Willapted: "The production here is the highlight for me, a lot of cool things going on there. Obviously Aaliyah sounds good too, but I find the hook is a little repetitive." (8.2)Tay: "Aaliyah always delivered the BOPS! She also delivered vocals, which are apparent on this song. This one, however, did feel like it ran a tad bit longer than needed. If this were released today, it probably wouldn’t be longer than like 2:50." (8.0)TOTAL:50.5 | AVERAGE: 8.42Next...ZEDD!D'Angelo - "Brown Sugar"Sambalada: "This is D'Angelos most popular song for a reason. Very nice and chill production. I love the thumping beat (or bass?) that goes on through the entire tune. His voice is also very soothing, it goes so well with the flow of the music." (8.3)Fearless: "Smooth vocals and production - I’m wondering if it’s an organ in the background but the bouncy notes that they (or whatever it is) make adds a lot. That did help elevate the song to another level for me, since otherwise I don’t know if I would care to return too often." (7.8)Matt: "Smooth as butter; D'Angelo has one of the best voices in the genre that i've yet heard and the chorus is really something else. Great pick." (8.9)Violet: "Goddamn is this smooth. i love how the bass just kinda does the thing." (8.0)Willapted: "Very smooth with great vocals and production on display." (8.4)Tay: "I loved the vibe of this one! Nice backing vocals during the chorus; nice vocals period. That beat, whew!!!" (8.5)TOTAL: 49.9 | AVERAGE: 8.32Next...
BB!TLC - "Waterfalls"Sambalada: "This song defines 90s music in the greatest way. The smooth production, blended with the girls's combined harmony, make this a really great tune." (8.2)Fearless: "A classic and a jam. I actually don’t think the song stands out exceptionally in different components of the song, but everything is just done really well and ends up as a very solid record. Tackling HIV/AIDS as a mainstream record is a bold move, and I appreciate that too." (9.0)Matt: "Pretty emblematic of its time period with the classic funky production, exciting horn lines, and smooth yet comfortable melodies throughout the verses, and then, the track gets a whole new energy when the chorus hits. The final rap verse from high-pitched girl is pretty annoying and feels unnecessary, but otherwise great song and message, too." (7.9)Violet: "Crap song and awful singing and rapping in the end. TLC has been one of the worst teenage bands in the 90s. With the same title, Paul McCartney did much better... (in all seriousness though this song isn't that bad. the rap part is out of place but the rest is solid)" (6.5)Willapted: "Very solid production and a great chorus, definitely a strong choice." (8.0)Tay: "Another ICONIC tune! The groove is incredible and if you don’t at least know the chorus, your music palette needs to be expanded. " (10)TOTAL: 49.6 | AVERAGE: 8.27Next...MOD!OutKast - "SpottieOttieDopaliscious"
Sambalada: "The instrumentations in this song are top notch. The saxophone line is very fun to follow along. The same thing also can be said about the multiple layers of the production. This song is so groovy, yet so smooth in overall execution." (8.8)Fearless: "I enjoyed the funkiness and the usage of the horns, but what I enjoyed the most was the way the lyrics progressed - I had totally thought it was another song about meeting a woman in a club but it turned out that this woman ended up having a child with the protagonist but with a warning about the vicious cycle that people who are involved in selling drugs fall into." (8.5)Matt: "Dayummm dayummmmm dayummmmm dayummmmmm" (9.8)Violet: "Damn, damn, dayum, daayyyyuuumm" (8.7)Willapted: "A masterpiece. Those horns may well be where music peaked. A highlight on an album full of them." (9.8)Tay: "Now just WHO has got the time (COVID-19 and quarantine notwithstanding) to listen to a whole ass SEVEN MINUTE song?! The verses were good and I loved the instrumental…but SEVEN minutes, damn! My brain just couldn’t get past that and I grew bored after awhile." (4.0)TOTAL: 49.6 | AVERAGE: 8.27Next...WRIP!Erykah Badu - "On & On"Sambalada: "Great song. Erykah's voice is unique and this production showcases the best parts of her vocal talent. I love how she plays around with the melody line, like what young girls in talent shows are trying to do to make them sound like they have strong vocal techniques but often failed. But in Erykah Badu's case she does it in a natural way that is easy to enjoy." (8.0)Fearless: "The recording is soulful and I like the beat behind the track - it contrasts how subdued the rest of the song is and helps to keep the song interesting instead of plodding along. I’m not going to pretend to understand the entire meaning behind the lyrics but all the symbolism behind the lyrics makes the song feel even deeper than the music itself." (8.4)Matt: "The hi-hats carry here and I really like the elevator jazz type vibe that this has going for it. Badu's vocals are stellar as well." (8.6)Violet: "Idk if sophisticated is the right word but i think it fits this song well. really good production paired up with a pretty decent vocal performance." (7.7)Willapted: "Similar to 'Brown Sugar's, smooth as hell, just super enjoyable overall." (8.5)Tay: (8.0)TOTAL: 49.2 | AVERAGE: 8.2Next...HAMED!Mariah Carey - "Honey"Sambalada: "Slay a little bit. I haven't decided what Mariah songs I think is the best, but this one is definitely up there. No actually, I think this might be my favorite of her singles ever. The production is amazing. Vocally Mariah was at the top of her career here, even without all those difficult techniques I know she has." (9.4)Fearless: "The bouncy bass and the piano riff make the song for me. The production is just so strong in this song. The pre-chorus/chorus isn’t the strongest as far as Mariah Carey songs go, but the tempo of singing in the chorus is to my liking. However, Mariah’s ad libs are A+ in this song." (9.1)Matt: "This obviously has glistening and high-quality production, especially that little piano line that plays throughout. I'd definitely say I enjoy this side of Mariah more than her poppier stuff, and the only thing holding this back for me would be my general dislike for her super high vocal on the chorus." (7.5)Violet: "Mariah carey has never done much for me outside of “all i want for christmas is you” leading to me making a pledge to unemployment during the months of november and december and this really isn’t any exception to that. also mase sounds uninterested as f**k." (4.6)Willapted: "Love the production on this, the main piano line is really catchy. Her vocals of course sound good and its overall one of her better singles." (7.9)Tay: "She’s the icon, the legend and the moment, but Mariah is also the GOAT. The Mother of Melisma and the Songbird Supreme. That beat is amazing and her vocals are unmatched!" (10)TOTAL: 48.5 | AVERAGE: 8.08Next...SLAYER!Aaliyah - "Try Again"Sambalada: "Now this is the best Aaliyah song I've ever heard. Even though I find it funny and maybe a little predictable of a submission as now this has been sent for all three seasons so far lmao. So I guess most of what I could say about this song you can see it on previous seasons' thread. To keep it short, I love this song." (8.7)Fearless: "One of my favorite Aaliyah songs along with “Are You That Somebody” and “Rock the Boat”. The production is great here as well, it has a “cool” vibe to it. Timbaland’s part is also somehow catchy as hell too." (9.3)Matt: "I like pretty much everything else i've heard from aaliyah, but this has always been a misstep for her in my opinion. I also usually enjoy Timbaland's production a lot but this beat just feels horribly mixed and all over the place without a real pulse, and I usually like odd/off-the-beat beats, too. The melodies are pretty flat and one-note too, and despite Aaliyah having an incredible voice she's hardly given much to work with here, sad to say. Sorry lmao but i can't stand this one." (4.1)Violet: "Aaliyah died too soon. not too much to say here. cool performance and cool sound. overall nice track." (8.7)Willapted: "Love this one, both Aaliyah and Timbaland killed this track. The vocal performance is fantastic and the beat is hot." (8.7)Tay: "Again, she had the BOPS!! Of the two Aaliyah songs submitted this round, I clicked more instantly with this one." (9.0)TOTAL: 48.5 | AVERAGE: 8.08Next...JAMES!Ginuwine - "Pony"Sambalada: "Never really cared about it until now, to be honest. I just realized how fun the production is. The vocals are good too, but not very remarkable to be honest. Doesn't really detract from the enjoyment though. The hook is definitely strong too." (7.8)Fearless: "As much of a classic as this is, I don’t know if I care for it a ton. The vocoder bassline is creative but I personally find it a little obnoxious." (6.8)Matt: "I've heard tons of praise about this tune for a while without actually hearing it; i'm glad that I finally got to check it out because it's absolute heat. I like the hard-hitting bass mixed with that deep vocal sample, and Ginuwine manages to fit the beat perfectly with his smooth ass vocals. One of the most unique r&b songs i've heard from this era as well as one of the most addicting; great pick." (9.3)Violet: "The blips and bloops are cool but the mixing is kinda bad." (7.3)Willapted: "I don’t love it like some people do, but I can definitely appreciate the interesting production choices and the vocals are cool too." (7.6)Tay: "Guess how I know this song? Magic Mike Anyways, that beat is iconic; I knew what this song was the second it came on!" (9.0)TOTAL: 47.8 | AVERAGE: 7.97The last person to escape the bottom two is...WOODS!Destiny's Child - "Independent Women, Pt. 1"Sambalada: "It's always been one of my favorite hit songs from this time period. It's an undeniably catchy jam that always gives a great vibe." (9.2)Fearless: "We love a feminist anthem! Regardless, this song is an all-out jam. The pre-chorus honestly is something I want to listen to when I’m proud of living an adult life - shoes, clothes, watch etc… I bought it and I depend on me (and therefore am succeeding as an adult)." (9.0)Matt: (6.2)Violet: "So destiny’s child was never my thing. it honestly just sounds like typical 2000s r&b fare to me and this song is no exception minus the pre chorus being admittedly pretty nice. the random and out of placement charlie’s angels references are funny though." (6.7)Willapted: "This is fine, but I’m not sure it’s much more than that. The references to Charlie’s Angels in the lyrics are a bit awkward to me and the melody/production don’t stick out much." (6.0)Tay: "Destiny’s Child can do no wrong! That’s all that needs to be said." (9.0)TOTAL: 47.7 | AVERAGE: 7.95
You haven't been doing super well so far. I hope by barely avoiding the bottom two, you will use this opportunity to pick up your game. Which means the bottom two are... INDULGE & JAMESFLAME
This is interesting. So the winners of the first and second round landed in the bottom two together in the third round. This is a sign for you and everyone else that you need to always be on your top game.
One of you will be eliminated.

The last person to advance to the next round is...INDULGE!JoJo - "Leave (Get Out)"Sambalada: "Nostalgia plays a huge part on my enjoyment of this song. It's one of the songs that my older sister used to play a lot back when I was like, 4?, lol. And I don't think I've gotten tired of it now. Neither the production or songwriting are groundbreaking but they're good and the song is a jam and a half. Also, I found it amazing that JoJo recorded this when she was 13!" (8.7)Fearless: "It’s cute but I also don’t think it’s that special. But at age 13, this is solid - it does sound a little juvenile (especially the “leave!” etc. in the chorus). I love “Too Little Too Late” but no JoJo comes close to that one in terms of how much I like it. Still kind of a bop though." (7.2)Matt: "State Farm has released a new commercial to promote its great rates. The spot features Jake from State Farm (played by Kevin Mimms) receiving an unexpected “order” from Parker, a pizza delivery person who wants to thank him for having helped her save money on her insurance and, in order to do that, has devised a promo for him. As Jake tries to say that he didn’t do anything extraordinary because State Farm offers everyone surprisingly great rates, Parker keeps taking out various menu items, from pizza to pepperoni pockets, to an atomic brownie and a cider ranch, and placing them in his hands. “You’re the man, man!” she tells him before leaving. “You want the real deal?” Jake asks at the end the commercial, saying then in voiceover the company’s tagline, “Like a good neighbor, State Farm is there”." (5.5)Violet: "Impressive for a 14 year old but it’s an alright song. does nothing really for me." (5.0)Willapted: "I mean the hook is very catchy, but outside of that this does nothing for me." (5.5) Tay: "I absolutely loved that chorus!! Nice backing vocals leading up into the chorus as well!" (9.0) TOTAL: 40.9 | AVERAGE: 6.82
Your ass is lucky this round because if it's only the regular judges, you would've been a goner. Hopefully this is just a fluke considering your stellar performance in the first two rounds. Congratulations you still have a chance of winning Last Stand Season 3!Which means...
JAMESFLAME, I'm sorry but you've been eliminated.
Hooverphonic - "2Wicky"
Sambalada: "Nice song. I've heard this style done better in the past though, and I come to conclusion that this can be much better still." (7.4) Fearless: "Maybe this person has seen me submit Hooverphonic for Madness and perhaps me ranking Hooverphonic high in this year’s Pulse Eurovision? I like the use of the sample (the jazz sample gives the song a nice soulful vibe imo) and the sound effects that come in in the second half gives off a space travel vibe that’s really cool." (7.8) Matt: "This instantly took me my surprise with the slow jazzy and gleamy production and light vocal performances that definitely gave off a trip hop vibe while still managing to be funky enough to fit in with the r&b genre. I love how the beat manages to get more chaotic as the track progresses, as well as the light background vocals complementing the main beat of the track." (8.7) Violet: "Pretty and lush sounding track with nice vocals but outside of that, there isn’t that much that this does for me." (7.0) Willapted: "This is interesting, I think I like it in theory more than I actually enjoy it. The vocals don’t do a whole lot for me but the production definitely has elements to it I like." (7.5) Tay: "Wasn’t really feeling this one too much at all. What is this background mumbling?! Sounds like a demonic chant, like something you’d hear on Charmed." (2.0) TOTAL: 40.4 | AVERAGE: 6.73
I really didn't expect you'd leave this soon at all especially considering your great submissions when the game first started. Your song this round is actually more well-received in general, but you flopped HARD at impressing the guest judge and unfortunately it costs you the competition. Thank you for participating! :'(

Does best country song of all time Meant To Be count for this theme?
Bebe Rexha and FGL are the only relevant country artists anyways
....what do you mean Bebe Rexha isn't a Country artist?
