I think "Made For You" is still on track to be a number one hit and therefore its ranking might improve some at a later time. This is one song that I still continue to like more and more.

Yeah, "Made For You" is one of my favorite Jake Owen songs. Which was good enough to have it nearly escape my 40s here

I'm really excited to see how "Redwood Tree" performs in the album rankdown for Cam's The Otherside. Not sure I would've expected this to perform much better given the strength and familiarity of everything ahead of it.

I'm still shocked that "Redwood Tree" finished at #2 in one of the new releases rds, especially considering that "Classic" came nowhere close, and "Forgetting You" only made it to #5. It leads me to think that June must have been a rather weak month. (This was also the month when "Stick That In Your Country Song" finished at #3, lmao)
I can't help but think that if Martina had been in June instead of May, "Girls Like Me" would probably have managed to finish at #2 instead of #3 :'(
"Redwood Tree" is great, don't get me wrong. It being here just feels soooooo random! Lol. Like, I highly doubt it will finish in the top 2 of its own album rankdown based on how I have seen people rave about certain songs more than that one!

"Some Songs" bows out next. This song is such a catchy, feel-good number about the power that songs have in our lives. They can lift you up and transport you to a place if you let them, whether it is feelings of nostalgia for summer parties on the beach or pangs of desire for the one you love. Regardless of what you are going through in life, there is a song that describes it or could provide a soundtrack for your life in that moment. This song comes after Terri's prime and is therefore a bit on the obscure side, so it is no surprise seeing it out now, but it continues her career-long streak of releasing one flawless jam after another (Although it was her most recent solo top 20 hit in Canada, so it's not THAT obscure!)

Color me shocked to see "Twenty Years and Two Husbands Ago" bowing out before "When You Get To Me"! The two of them tied for second place in the album rd, but "Twenty Years" is a single whereas WYGTM is a random album track. When betting on a single verses a random album track in these rankdowns, it is almost always safer to assume the single will do better! In this instance, that did not manage to be the case :)

I don't know why, but I have a lot of mixed feelings about "I Drive Your Truck" (and this comes from a veteran of the Iraq war during this time). Some days I really like this song, some others I could easily skip over it. I think as time passes I'm able to enjoy this song a bit more though.

I really have a lot of respect for Lindsay opening up about the trauma in her past! It probably feels really good for her to make a difference in the lives of young women who are going through similar traumas.
The song itself isn’t really all that interesting though.

Lindsay Ell broke our hearts last summer when she announced that she had been raped growing up (not just once, but TWICE!!), and then dropped "make you" to describe her experience and tell her story... It is an emotional ballad, and it comes with one of the best vocal performances of her career (imo it's THE best). I was pleasantly surprised when it managed to hang on and finish at #2 in the July New Releases rd! It managed to beat "betty", which is one that a lot of people would have liked to see in this rankdown!

Again, this ranking comes down to if said song has replay value for me and “make you” just doesn’t have any (and probably less than “Black Like Me”). I really couldn’t justify ranking this any higher.

"When You Get To Me" didn't really stand out a whole lot to me when we did her album rankdown, but after seeing it finish in a tie for the top 2 and then revisiting it a lot for this rankdown, I have come to appreciate it a lot more! This song just has a really easy-going, laid-back vibe to it that just goes down really smoothly when you're listening to it. It's like a perfect lightweight breezy driving song. It reminds me a lot of "Talk To Me", which was one of my favorite discoveries from Something Worth Leaving Behind.
Don't forget to do Lee Ann's album tracks rankdown if you want to compare all these wonderful songs with each other! Lol

I've always been a little perplexed by how much love "Barefoot Blue Jean Night" has gotten ever since its release. This is 100% bro country through and through, but so many people act like it's the best thing he ever released I was so happy to see it miss out on the #1 spot in the album rankdown! It has grown on me a little bit, to where I appreciate it now more than I ever have. But, it is still very much just a generic modern male country song...

“Barefoot Blue Jean Night" is just one of those light-hearted songs that I’ve never grown tired of now matter how many times I’ve heard it over the years. This is such a spring/summer jam too!

I’m sure I probably overshot my ranking for “Every River” by a few spots, but irregardless (sorry bboat11 I couldn’t resist) the production of this song is so great and I’ve long considered it to be one of their overlooked hits.

"Every River" was a very welcome surprise to see in the #2 spot of the Steers & Stripes album rankdown!!! I have loved this song from the moment I heard it It was a single of course, but not nearly a big enough hit to have a lot of single bias behind it, and yet it managed to outlast a career-defining smash hit in "Only In America", and a couple other huge hits in "The Long Goodbye" and "My Heart Is Lost To You"! The melody here is just so perfect for windows-down summertime drives Of course castleoblivion26 would be the lowest ranker.... We may need to reevaluate who we decided to hand the B&D album series off to ;)
