I will say, as a SHeDAISY lover I always understood why they had ups and downs with radio - they are quirky, original, and never really got the tour following other artists had (their own fault) but I ALWAYS thought radio got it wrong with this song. The crowds went wild for it at every show and I remember it being really positively reviewed by just about everyone when it came out (following a Top 10 hit) and then...stalled at 20. Like. Wtf?!
I am glad to feel that I am right with how this board has received it.

So I am FLOORED to see "Live Like You Were Dying" do this well! Similar to George's "I Just Want To Dance With You" this is one that has been permanently tainted for some people due to overplay. It has always had more than its fair share of tankers, but yet here somehow it was able to get away with only a single bottom 10 rank! The fact that everybody except for three people put it in their top 20 pretty much guaranteed this one a spot in the top 10, and ultimately got it all the way to the cusp of the top 5. In the end, LLYWD misses the top 5 by a measly two points. fearlessarrow might be disappointed to see his #1 leaving now, but I feel like he's gotta be relieved it even did this well!!

THE URGE TO RUN, THE RESTLESSNESS!!!!!!! This song has one of the biggest ear candy choruses I have ever heard in my life I LOVE the way Tim delivers this song. It is perfect for his voice. The arrangement is incredible too, especially with the steel guitar slide down to an epic full-band drop heading into that outro! So glad to see it make the top 5 here!

"If You're Not In It For Love" has always been one of Shania's songs that I just don't get tired of. That melody is SO catchy and iconic! A well deserved top 5 finisher here :)

"If You're Not In It For Love" has always been one of Shania's songs that I just don't get tired of. Opposite sentiment for me as overplay kind of did this song in from my perspective. That likely isn't the case for much of you, but it's one of those songs I grew up alongside with on country radio since it was released. My low ranking for this is a reflection of that.

I had a feeling this was going to be the song not making it into the top two. "Gunpowder & Lead" is quite the headbanger and because of that I really have to be in the right mood to want to hear it. It's definitely not something I ever want to put on casually.

I think this is Patty's to lose, so that leaves "Don't Rock the Jukebox" as the runner-up.

I have never been a huge fan of "Gunpowder & Lead". It is a cool song, but sonically it wore on me extremely quick, and then the extreme levels of radio overplay completely killed it for me. It has grown back on me enough to where I had it in the middle of its album rd, but in a multi-artist rd like this is still just doesn't have nearly as much replay value for me as 80% of this list.

Alan vs. Patty!!!! "Don't Rock The Jukebox" vs. "On Your Way Home"! A career-launching smash hit versus a late-career return to commercial form! Who do you want to see take it?! Also, how cool is it that Alan Jackson is in the top 2 of both of these rds He went from never winning a rankdown before to suddenly having the entire top 2 of his singles rd end up in the top 2 of our most competitive rankdowns. Whatever happens, this is a very unique and awesome accomplishment for him!

I'm sure it won't be the last time and I do hope he at least is able to win one of these two.

Bonus: "Wasted" - Carrie Underwood
Finished at #2 in the: American Idol Series: Part 3 rd (Host: fireflies)
"Wasted" is yet another frequent Pulse fave! This song has been known to do extremely well in every rankdown it has ever been in. It was #3 in the 2007 year-end country rd, and then it WON her Some Hearts album rd. After winning that, it was in our first BotB rd, where it made it all the way up to #3. And then finally it finished at #2 in our previous eligibility period thanks to fireflies' American Idol rankdown series! Ironically, it finished at #2 in the American Idol rankdown behind "Before The Cheats".....the song that it had previously beaten in the album rankdown to secure itself a victory and relegating BHC to yet another in a long line of #2 finishes So BHC totally got its revenge in this case!

There really wasn't any question as to what my top ranking song would be going into this. "Don't Rock The Jukebox" is one of only a handful of songs that I can remember being influenced by at a very young age, so much so that it would pave the way for my musical taste for years to come. I was obsessed with this song as a young boy and even to this day whenever I hear it I feel a bit giddy lol. It just always puts me in a good mood.
Patty's "On Your Way Home" has always been well-beloved on Pulse, so it would've been a tall order for any other song to come out ahead of it here. Another well-deserved winner!

"On Your Way Home" is an enthralling masterpiece of a country song. Patty is just one of the greatest to ever do it and that's a perfect example of her capabilities on full display. Such a riveting song in all aspects.

Such a riveting song in all aspects. I couldn't say it any better. No one could elevate this song to the level of masterpiece it is as Patty could as the way she sings just brings all the emotions and you feel everything in the way she sings. To see this song win makes me SO happy and I cannot stress that enough! If you all enjoy this song make sure to check out her album rankdowns that are winding down as the current two accepting submissions includes the one with this song!

Both of the Top 2 are incredibly worthy of their placements and I'm glad to see them make it this far. I will say I was rooting for Patty out of what I had left, so I'm very glad to see her win! That's certainly my favorite song I've heard from her yet and I echo everyone's sentiments about the song. Thanks for hosting bboat11!
