Looking at the estimates I see, it is very likely that Love Again will be caught between years unless it has a lot of longevity in 2022.

Feels wrong that Todo De Ti could finish below that Goosebumps thing. IIRC it got like 1 more week in the top 50 and it peaked way higher & even once it below the top 50 is stuck around between 50-60 for a good bit. Hoping that there's a margin of error there or something

If Levitating didn't resurge then SYT would be YE number 1. To me that's crazy it doesn't even feel as big as any of the last YE number 1s like BL, OTR and even God's Plan.

Levitating doesn't feel either, at least for me. Love Yourself and God's Plan yeah, but not even close to OTR, BL, SOY or UF. It's crazy to think that, without those remixes of Levitating and SYT, Blinding would've been #1 on YE chart again.

Now that we have most of the 2021 Year End figured out, anyone have any early 2022 Year End predictions? (of songs which are charting now)
Here's my guess (bold for top 50): - The current top 10 all make it (STAY, Industry Baby, Fancy Like, Bad Habits, Way 2 Sexy, good 4 u, Kiss Me More, Levitating, Essence, Shivers) - Need to Know has a long top 10 run in it IMO - Beggin' will probably accumulate points for a while because of strong radio - traitor seems like it'll have another run - not sure if it re-peaks but I think it sticks around til spring - Cold Heart is a riskier pick but I think it can stay around for a while - should be big on radio. - Easy on Me (new Adele) will be top 10 for a long time unless it's really awful
I think Knife Talk, Heat Waves, Save Your Tears, and You Right will all fall off too fast to make it. Would love to see other predictions!

Looking at the estimates I see, it is very likely that Love Again will be caught between years unless it has a lot of longevity in 2022. it's still rising, and considering Dua songs stay around for a long while sometimes, I think it's still very possible

With Levitating still going strong, I get the feel that Love Again is the song that will get squeezed out.

Fancy Like is bad enough we don't need both #1 and #2 from the worst list repeating. As for songs that I think will make both years this is a bit of a crapshoot but I'm gonna go with Stay Industry Baby (barely) Fancy Like Bad Habits Good 4 U Kiss Me More Beggin' Heat Waves AIWFCIY I think Traitor and If I Didn't Love You are both gonna be like a week short, might get denied a spot by the Christmas season

I don't think Good 4 U or Kiss Me More is going to make it.

^^ Huh? Make it where? They're close to if not in the year-end top ten. For the week of October 16, here's where I think the Top 100 year-to-date currently stands: Save Your Tears finally gets enough points on my chart to get to #2 on the year-end, something the projections have been saying for over a month. Stay keeps pushing for a year-end top ten. I think we can expect it to stay #1 next week, then Adele will probably run out the year at #1. Three weeks at #2 may not be enough to make the top ten YE though. And here's the latest estimate of where the year end will finish. Even 3 solid weeks at #1 won't allow Adele to reach the number of points needed in this system.

I don't think Good 4 U or Kiss Me More is going to make it. If both songs notch enough longevity (e.g. getting to 52 weeks) it will be possible, but as long they're not in the Top 25-30 area by Christmas season, they'll be safe from being swept off the charts

what do we think the odds are for Take My Breath and Happier Than Ever wrt this year's list TMB will probably be like bottom 10 but it should be in there. HTE needs to basically stay where it is in points. This does kinda highlight something that I think is interesting which is that this is the most stacked year end list since maybe 2015. Year end lists have been kinda trending towards lower barriers of entry for awhile since then with 20 week chart runs being able to peak lower and lower, culminating into the hilarious spectacle of 2019 which featured the amazing meme chart runs of Boyfriend, Walk Me Home & Robbery just to cap it off. But this year, assuming that there's enough justice in the world for that Goosebumps thing to miss, the chart runs of the cutoff songs are all much more conventional which I think is interesting considering how stagnant this year has felt overall.

the thing that worries me though about Take My Breath is that it appears to have already peaked on radio and seems to be falling on Spotify too, but I don't really know how it's doing in most other categories

^Other than radio, the only other place I see it is doing decently is on the Pandora weekly chart, where it is #18. At Amazon Music, it is #36 in the 50 most played. It is #67 on iTunes. It isn't on Apple Music's top 200 nor was it in the top 100 weekly US YouTube music videos last week. Even so, unless it drops on radio very quickly, it will probably make it, specially if it continues to chart above Happier Than Ever on the Hot 100.

Does “Fancy Like” have any chance of catching up to “Forever After All”? I really want FAA to be #1 on the Hot Country Songs YE chart!

It’s frustrating that the singles promotions for Love Again and In Your Eyes were so mismanaged, meanwhile We’re Good and (likely) Take My Breath will be hits instead. The latter isn’t a bad song, but in terms of Abel’s 80s throwbacks, it’s nothing special

I think "Fancy Like" is expected to end up at Top 25 of the YE, so unless it gets an increase in points at the remaining weeks of the chart year, "Forever After All" would be higher than "Fancy Like" and be the #1 in the YE in Country Songs

It's not even that bad but to like record a new song thats obviously worse than your masterpiece of an album & cut off your single run with it is like bad decision making on an unfathomable level that I don't even think you can compare Filthy or Bon Appetit to. It would be like if Taylor Swift's 1989 rollout was Shake It Off, then Blank Space, then she ditched the entire 1989 album to record like a demo from the Reputation era and made that the followup to Blank Space preventing anything else from 1989 from becoming a hit!! Just absolutely ridiculous

A darkhorse candidate for next year’s YE is My Universe, while the sales may dry up, it’s gaining in airplay.

I could see it having a similar chart run to Highest In The Room HIGHEST IN THE ROOM though got a boost from the JACKBOYS project dropping early January of 2020. Coldplay's album is out today and I'm not sure how even if it gets decent airplay, I don't really expect streams or sales to stabilize after Christmas

So Adele *finally* released a new song. Almost exactly 6 years after Hello released. What do we all think of Easy on Me, both in terms of how good it is and what it’s chances of pulling a Hello and making the 2021 list are?

What do we all think of Easy on Me, both in terms of how good it is and what it’s chances of pulling a Hello and making the 2021 list are? If it debuts strong and stays strong at #1 with ~550 points on average each week, it’s got a shot at making it. I doubt it’s going to get to the YE top 40 like Hello did, but bottom 20 is doable. Plus, given it was released 5 hours early, it might have a shot at an early debut to rack up even more points (although the recent shift in the radio tracking week will make that difficult).
