That 0.001 gain must be a clue for something and y'all will add up some random numbers so it totals 13, but I'm too lazy to think about it right now.

Can we stop with the posts about random things related to thirteen? Iβd much rather talk about the upcoming dual singles, exile and Cruel Summer.

Taylor always teases something in her award speeches. I was patiently waiting for her to announce exile as the new single...

To be honest after the shitshow that her 1989 speech triggered I'm glad she took the more muted approach this time.
Kudos! I guess this is maybe the last big thing of the evermore/folklore era until touring can resume. She's probably gonna focus on those rereleases for a while.

I hope this reinvigorates her and pushes her to keep going strong. I think an AOTY loss would have broken her, especially after the last five years. So knowing she still gots it at 31, hopefully she continues to reinvent her sound and fights a sexist, ageist music industry.

I don't know how much effort she needs to complete the rerecordings at this point, if any, aside from taking photos for the covers and stuff, but that's maybe gonna keep her busy for a while and then touring... let's say Q2 2022?
It could be a while before we get whatever's next for her.
I just hope she is getting enough rest. (Oh and eventually, reputation remake needs to happen too).

I dunno, Taylor proved with folklore she can complete an album in like three/four months if needed. It just depends what she has in store for her next album. I think folkloreβs success gives her free reign to explore more without the risk of failure or flopping. As it is, the label already seems willing to release anything she hands them. Iβd guess something new before the end of 2021. Or something on the anniversary of folklore just because sheβs insane and doesnβt ever stop working. I think this project and her collaborators have been a dream for her, and she will want to continue down this path with them. Theyβre like a tight knit family at this point and they all look super happy and satisfied with the end result. Jack and Aaron both have a background in rock, maybe Taylor ventures into rock this next record. Would be quite the change of pace but would make for a really interesting sound. Maybe in the vein of Mumford and Sons/Kings of Leon/HAIM...

She's SO going in that Mumford and Sons/Kings of Leon/HAIM direction the next full new album. It just feels so...right. Like what a natural evolution and progression from folklore/evermore would be.

My current fantasy after the AOTY win is: - Willow stays in the 20s on Pop until April; rides it out on Hot AC until mid-May.
They send august to radio once June hits.

It will also be her 10th album, so I bet she will want it to be iconic. Would love some high profile collabs... been patiently waiting for a Coldplay/Chris Martin collab for awhile now.

did the song get a boost on streaming/sales at all? she performed it but it was also part of a medley & not from the album that won AOTY so I'm curious.

I don't think anything saw much of a boost from the Grammys. The biggest impact I've seen is BeyoncΓ©, Cardi/Meg and Dua Lipa memes.

On Spotify: Last Monday, 3/8 folklore 3,104,717 evermore 3,996,685 Yesterday, 3/15 (change from last Monday) folklore 6,397,308 (+106%) evermore 4,872,329 (+22%) The albums are also doing great at Apple Music, with folklore at #7 (hit #6 yesterday) and evermore at #13. On iTunes, folklore is #1 and evermore is #4. Both are discounted. It's the same story we've seen this whole era. The albums as whole bodies of work are doing very well and the singles are doing ok to meh.

Even if this dies on Pop, Hot AC and AC should keep it on the Hot 100 for at least 20 weeks.

Of course, sky rocketing from #250 to #5 on iTunes is like, what, 3k extra sales? So it's not like it's difficult to storm the iTunes chart with performances, but it did happen lol. Some songs did get decent boosts on streaming, but for the most part that has since worn off already lol.

I would kill for a full version of the Grammy performance of this β the rock elements that were added in the chorus elevated the song so much.

Songs aren't selling enough for boosts to matter much unless it's some sort of BTS fan craze, and only Nicki and Taylor have gotten close to that recently.
