This rankdown is closed! I am not accepting any more list, if you'd like to be tagged in results please let me know! I will begin results for this tomorrow night! By the end of the week I plan to open Part 2 which will be the Silver Era which I feel like may be a bit more of a popular era.
For anyone who's interested in doing predictions here are some questions:
What movie will be #1? What movie will be #11? Which Golden Era movie will do the best? (Snow White, Pinocchio, Fantasia, Dumbo, Bambi) Which War-Time Era movie will do the best? (Saludos Amigos, Three Caballeros, Make Mine Music, Fun and Fancy Free, Melody Time, Ichabod & Mr Toad) Any other thoughts/comments?
Bonus Question: Which Disney movie(s) do you look forward to ranking later on down the road?

What movie will be #1? Bambi for the win!!
What movie will be #11? Saludos Amigos? Or maybe Make Mine Music since it's not available anywhere...
Which Golden Era movie will do the best? (Snow White, Pinocchio, Fantasia, Dumbo, Bambi) I'm thinking Bambi, but Pinocchio might sneak ahead too!
Which War-Time Era movie will do the best? (Saludos Amigos, Three Caballeros, Make Mine Music, Fun and Fancy Free, Melody Time, Ichabod & Mr Toad) Probably Ichabod & Mr. Toad. Because it feels a bit closer to a "normal movie" than the others do.
Any other thoughts/comments? I could barely make it through all those wartime films. The four actual movies from the Golden Era should be any easy top 4 here, imo!
Bonus Question: Which Disney movie(s) do you look forward to ranking later on down the road? Well now that these weird early films are out of the way, I am looking forward to literally everything else! There are heavy hitters from every era that have been an integral part of my life, so I am pumped for everything! Jungle Book, Lion King, Fox & Hound, Tarzan, Beauty & the Beast, Zootopia, Tangled... I also look forward to some big classics that I didn't own as a kid so I don't remember how they go, like Little Mermaid, Pocahontas, Sleeping Beauty, etc. So yeah, looking forward to literally everything.

What movie will be #11?Hopefully one with this annoying fucker Which Golden Era movie will do the best? (Snow White, Pinocchio, Fantasia, Dumbo, Bambi) Snow White Which War-Time Era movie will do the best? (Saludos Amigos, Three Caballeros, Make Mine Music, Fun and Fancy Free, Melody Time, Ichabod & Mr Toad) Going with King Ichabod! Any other thoughts/comments?Please no more of this bitch ever again! Bonus Question: Which Disney movie(s) do you look forward to ranking later on down the road?Too many to list! I do hope The Little Mermaid is paired with the blockbusters from the '90s, it was a comeback for disney classics, the other ones from the 80's can have their own category to fight it out in.

So, I was significantly more entertained by Make Mine Music than I was by some of the other compilation films. But there are sooooo many things about this movie that are just insanely messed up. I'm not surprised to see it not on Disney+! Like, how about the parody of the Hatfields and the McCoys?? Two neighboring hillbilly families start feuding, and shoot each other with guns until they are all dead except for one young member of each family. It just so happens that one is a man and one is a woman, and they fall in love! They get married, the feud ends, the families are united forever, and it's such a great message! .......Until the closing scene when it shows them domestically abusing each other and is like "Well, I guess the feud never truly ended after all"... Then there's that one drawing film about teens going to a dance party or whatever, and the pencil draws a woman with a little bit of extra weight and one of the men like shakes his head at her in disgust and she's all sad... So then the pencil erases her weight and draws her as a more slim figure and the man suddenly goes gaga over her and they get together and start dancing happily.... And don't even get me started on what they did to poor Willie!!!

Melody Time deserved better than bottom 2 here! The story of Johnny Appleseed was really well done. The Pecos Bill story was also really well done, and had a nice mix of hilarity and seriousness that was one of my favorite moments of the entire wartime era. Not to mention Little Toot is a hilarious icon!!! His story was like one big facepalm, but I loved it, especially when they would sing his name in that stupid singsongy melody 😂😂😂
There was a lot of unnecessary filler in and amongst those three shining moments, but those three films alone made this waaaay more entertaining for me than some of the other wartime films...

The five movies from the Golden Era are absolutely the correct top 5 here. They are all so iconic in their own way, and continue to be relevant to this day in the Disney canon. I mean, I would have preferred to see Fantasia in last place personally, lmao, but there is no denying its impact on the Walt Disney legacy! The innovative barriers that it broke are iconic! The four actual movies of the Golden Era are the correct top four of this list though. I love them all, although unlike the other three, Dumbo has lost some of its magic as I've transitioned from childhood to adulthood. I loooooove elephants so much, so it is of course an easy movie for an elephant stan to get into 😂 However, as an adult there are things that bother me. The biggest one being that there is absolutely no point to the entire "getting drunk and seeing weird visions" segment other than "look what we can do with animation", just like Fantasia. It would have been okay if it was only a couple minutes, but it went on for entirely too long, lmao. Also, the whole plot just feels sooooo rushed. Like, I had forgotten that they discovered Dumbo could fly by the crows saying "did you fly into the tree or something" and then the mouse is like "OMG you totally must have flown!" It is an iconic movie no doubt, but is nowhere near Disney's most cohesive or well fleshed out work.
