The albums fourth and final single “USA Today” bows out first in the top 5. This is actually a bit of a reversal from the singles rankdown as "Too Much of a Good Thing" left before this and still remains in the top 5. This initially started out in the back of the top 10 as it picked up its two lowest rankings at the beginning of its run including a bottom 2 from Kanenrá:ke. That was soon followed up by a pair of back-to-back top 2 rankings from someguy and ClevelandRox which brought this closer to the top 5 but still remained outside of it. It only became a top 5 contender towards the last part of the rankdown as it again picked up a pair of back-to-back top 2 rankings from kw9461 and Cody Wants Out....

I hope that single bias doesn’t carry ”Too Much Of Good Thing” much higher. What a boring song.

"Too Much Of A Good Thing" is one of my least favorite Alan Jackson songs so I am disappointed to see it above much of this album. I hope it leaves soon

I hope that single bias doesn’t carry ”Too Much Of Good Thing” much higher. What a boring song. Ask and you shall receive!
Smiles in the morning as warm as sunshine Kisses when I lay down at night and two loving arms to console me I should be scared, it's so right
You look in my eyes and see my thinking I know when you're happy, when you're sad Someone said it’s too perfect But, I don't think what we have is so bad 4. “Too Much of a Good Thing” Track: #1 Songwriters: Alan Jackson Released: June 2004 Billboard Peak Hot Country Songs: #5 Placement in Singles Rankdown: #59 out of 65 Total: 76 Average: 5.85 Std Dev: 2.67 (5th Lowest) {Songs Remaining} Monday Morning Church Rainy Day in June You Don’t Have to Paint Me a Picture

Both someguy and castleoblivion26 will be happy to see “Too Much of a Good Thing” exit next as they are actually the songs two lowest-ranking participants! Again, this is quite the reversal from Alan's singles rankdown as this was not just the first single from the album to exit but just barely managed to escape the bottom 5 as well. While this managed to start out inside the top 5 here, it received its three lowest ranks in a row starting out with a bottom 2 from someguy. It was able to find its way back into the top 5 though as it began to pick up quite a bit of support from those that submitted towards the last half of the rankdown. Of those, it included a pair of top 3 rankings as well as a final top 2 from Kris Kringle. Up until recently, this was never a favorite of mine either as I too always thought this was a rather boring song. My opinion of it began to shift some though when I revisited it for the singles rankdown and again for this. I certainly appreciate this song a lot more today than I did even a year ago, but again I can relate to those that aren't a fan of this song themselves.

That leaves only one single remaining with two album tracks making it into the top 3! Will it be "Rainy Day in June" or "You Don't Have to Paint Me a Picture" making it into the top 2?

I expect “Monday Morning Church” to take this pretty easily.

When we first fell, we fell a long way Summer nights and winter days Mountain sunrise, ocean sunset Hand in hand in the haze Now it's cold heart summer evenings And there's clouds on my sunrise But you don't have to smile and say you're happy I can see what's in your eyes 3. “You Don’t Have to Paint Me a Picture” Track: #6 Songwriters: Alan Jackson Total: 66 Average: 5.08 Std Dev: 2.72 (6th Lowest) {Songs Remaining}Monday Morning Church Rainy Day in June

“You Don’t Have to Paint Me a Picture” is our first song to exit that has no bottom 2 rankings and remained a very consistent top 3 contender for its entire run. It in fact was also a top 2 contender thanks in part to the majority of the participants placing this somewhere within their top 5. That includes a #1 from ClevelandRox who becomes only our third participant to lose their top-ranking song. It also picked up a top 2 ranking from .indulgecountry as well as a trio of top 3s from myself, George Strait Junkie, and 🌺CountryLineDancer. This was one of my favorite songs from the album to revisit and one that I had on repeat for quite a few days. I've always thought that this would've made for a great single and wish they had released either this or "Rainy Day in June" over "USA Today".

Maybe a soft breeze on my back To make me feel at ease Anything more than what I've got On this rainy day in June

Not my favourite Alan album at all. And that was a completely unintentional tank, lol. The right song won though.

In what likely doesn't come as a surprise to anyone, “Monday Morning Church” comes out on top where it all but remained for the entirety of its run. There really was no competition as over 40 points separate this from our #2 finisher and almost 60 points from our first song that bowed out in the top 5. This also comes in as our least polarizing song as all but one participant put this in their top 3 with ClevelandRox finding himself as the lone participant not to put this in their top 5. Speaking of, nine participants put this as their top-ranked song while two others placed this in their top 2. Our runner-up "Rainy Day In June" actually started out as our first #1 contender as yours truly put this at the top of my list. This is such a gut-wrenching song for me to listen to as I lost my father in June of 1990 and chokes me up a bit whenever I hear it. This too was a solid top 3 contender of its entire run and flip-flopped with "You Don't Have to Paint Me a Picture" quite a few times jostling for that top 2 finish. The majority of the group also placed this inside their top 5 with someguy being the only participant to leave this outside of their top 10 altogether (and a last place at that!).

Played out about how I would've thought! I'm a little surprised "If Love Was A River" wasn't able to make it at least one more spot but not a big difference.
For "There Ya Go" it's the only song on the album I tend to forget about till I'm listening to it so it was an easy last place for me.
"Monday Morning Church" is a damn beautiful song and Patty's background vocal is gorgeous too. There really wasn't another choice for a winner here!
I do love Adam and Shannon's contributions to the album and I wish more artists would cut their songs or that they would've made some kind of impact as an act. They were so good!

"Monday Morning Church" is a phenomenal song. It was my favorite discovery back when did his singles rankdown, and it even landed in my top 5 there, so it was a no brainer for my #1 on this album. Glad it was a landslide victory as it deserved!
