New opening theme music for CT40, which we also heard on shows from 2011 earlier this year before settling in on 2010 (they should also have a new closing theme as well). 5/1/2010 is what they're featuring today on WSM-AM. 4/24/2010 was featured last week which had the previous CT40 opening/closing theme.

KFYZ sometimes airs a 90s show from time to time even though they air ACC shows mainly from the late 70s through the early 90s (with the 80s as its core), similar to Premiere's retro AT40 shows corresponding closely to the chart date. Tonight just happens to be the week that they're airing one from 5/23/1992, and one that was aired on ACC Rewind before (except for the first hour). This started around 20 minutes late after a loop of commercials and promos... www.charismusicgroup.com/ACC%20Cue%20Sheets/ACC%201992-0523.pdf

6/5/2010 is what WSM-AM is airing today. They must have skipped a week in the process.

I'm surprised that WSM-AM today is doing a CT40 show... normally around this time they're committed to doing Trash and Treasures but maybe some local programming was cut or another Nashville country radio station is taking over the duties.
But in any case they are doing 6/26/2010 today.
KFYZ for this coming Wednesday's ACC show (from their Facebook page) as it stands will do 6/28/1986.

7/17/2010 today on WSM-AM for their CT40 show (last week they did 7/10/2010).
KFYZ did 7/12/1986 for the third year in a row the past Wednesday, this coming Wednesday according to their Facebook page will be 7/16/1983.

8/7/2010 today for WSM-AM as we wait to find out what ACC show KFYZ will present this coming Wednesday. The 8/1/1987 show that KFYZ ran also aired back in 2021, and 7/22/1989 was one of the last times the 1986 theme (with the 1984 top of hour theme in hours 2-4) was used before a new theme commenced.

KFYZ this past Wednesday went with 8/20/1983 (a repeat of 2021), which I would have liked to see them held back on 1983 one more week or air 8/27/1983 last year but that didn't happen although stranger things have happened.
Meanwhile, WSM-AM keeps offering new CT40 shows, and they're featuring 8/28/2010 today.

Jeffrey Steele is filling in for Bob Kingsley this week on WSM-AM's CT40 show, from 9/18/2010. And on that note the opening billboard is back and kept intact, at least for now.

A year-end presentation for WSM-AM today... they are featuring the 50 biggest country hits of 2010 for CT40. Who knows what year they'll feature next, if they choose to continue Bob Kingsley's Countdown Classics on that station.

I'm not sure what year WSM will feature yet for the CT40 show but we know that KFYZ will air ACC from 1/10/81 next Wednesday according to their FB page. That will be a repeat from 2 years ago.

Here's the cue sheet for this week's CT40 show on WSM-AM:
We don't know if 2014 will be permanent throughout the whole year... last year they started off with 2011, and around February they switched to 2010 so we'll see what they'll do for 2024 if they stick with 2014 as during that year they reduced the number of listener requests from two to one per show to make room for the CT40 Vault.

They just posted on KFYZ FB page that the Don Bowman ACC shows will start airing on Thursdays starting this week at 6pm CT and midnight CT. This week they will air 1/12/74.

Meanwhile on the CT40 side, WSM-AM today is airing 1/11/2014.
KFYZ's FB page says that this Wednesday they'll rerun 1/17/87 (a replay of 2022), and on Thursday air 1/14/78 (which is late in the Bowman era).

Jeff Hoag said on WSM last night that 2014 will be the main focus this year, which means no going back to previous years.
Meanwhile, KLFM did not play last night's Bowman-era show as originally advertised (1/18/75), instead opting for 1/26/74.

They're now in March 2014 as far as CT40 shows go for WSM-AM... 3/1/2014 is what they're playing today.
KFYZ is now airing ACC shows at 6pm CT and at midnight CT in case you missed it the first time. On tap for March 6th is 3/5/1994 and March 7th is 3/5/1977.

4/12/2014 is what they're featuring today on WSM-AM. KFYZ this past Thursday featured an ACC special that featured the Top 40 greatest near-misses up to the date of the recording (late March/early April 1975) that aired on 4/5/1975. I wished the Country Top 40 or ACC later on updated the Top 40 greatest near-misses... or even AT40 that had a special of their own similar to ACC.
