I imagine she'll release one more single and then start working on album #2. I definitely think "good 4 u" will carry her thru the summer + maybe one more single, but I wouldn't be surprised if they've held some really strong songs back for a one-off in the fall. It's a great debut & strong artistic statement though :) The label couldn’t have known beforehand, but in retrospect I wish they went with good 4 u as the second single, and deja vu as the third. good 4 is so instant but I think it’ll have a high burn rate, while deja vu could have lasted through the Summer and been a song of the summer. Regardless I’m loving the album! The first post literally guessed the future while the latter post was thankfully proven wrong even though both songs are still in the top 10 smashing in different ways like they should be! |

she has 3 songs with bullets gaining on pop radio Top 30 this week, 2 in the Top 3. "deja vu" is headed for the top it seems, possibly replacing "good 4 u".

I gave Sour a full listen a few weeks ago and even though this isn’t the type of pop music I usually enjoy, this album is really good! I’m impressed at how strong this album is and you can definitely feel the Taylor influence in some of the songs. Olivia did a great job and Sour is one of the best albums released this year.

"hope ur ok" should be surpassing 100 million worldwide streams on Spotify sometime early this week, which will mean all 11 tracks will have reached this milestone. Over half of the album is over 200 million worldwide streams.

My guess is, “brutal” won’t be a single but the music video’s release will coincidence with the ‘SOUR’ vinyl drop, thus driving sales & streams. “traitor” will remain the official radio single.

Hopefully they let it runs its course as the Fall/Winter single and then release brutal for the new year. "traitor" is confirmed as the 4th single and went for adds on pop radio last week. however, she teased a possible "brutal" video shoot the other day, which could mean their plan is to make that the fifth single. any single they release from the album will likely have a much shorter run than the first three singles (due to the entire album already being Top 30 hits, lol), so being prepared for the rest of the era is smart. "traitor" has already spent, what, 12 weeks on the Hot 100? doubt they'll have to wait for the new year to push a fifth single, especially since... there are also rumors of her next album being in the works, possibly titled Sweet. when she was asked about it, she stuttered and gave an awkward response (which people think could be because the rumors are true): |

I'm very curious to hear what's next. They are moving quite fast if another record is coming. The plan was for her first release to be a short EP and then DL blew up in January and they turned the project into a full album. Not even a year later and we're already salivating for her second LP.

I say release a new album in 2022 and follow a release pattern similar to Sour. Olivia is a big deal right now, so they might as well strike while the iron is hot. An album called Sweet (which I assume would be thematically opposite of Sour) would be a good way to keep things fresh.

As much as I adore “happier” & “favorite crime”, I think she should push “jealousy, jealousy”. It’s gaining traction right now and it’d break the trend of breakup songs she’s been putting out as singles. Same. It's the best choice left imo. I prefer "brutal" as a song, but I think JJ has the bigger hit potential (especially because "brutal" has burned through a lot of streams already). |

Kinda confirms to me there are no plans to do much more with that track. I thought it was a decent video, felt on brand with what she's given us so far, specially g4u. |
