The Billboard Global 200 and Billboard Global Excl. U.S. charts launched with inaugural rankings dated Sept. 19, 2020, based on worldwide audio and video streams and download sales (the latter list excluding U.S. data).
A year later, we're recapping the biggest hits and newest names and more from around the world with the Global Music and Chart Report: A Year in Review. Alongside celebrating the top global hits from the last year, this Billboard and MRC Data recap spotlights some of the most prominent highlights and trends in that span.
To begin, American acts have dominated the Global 200, infusing more than half of the chart over its first 52 weeks (based on total chart weeks for every artist on the survey). Their 51% share reflects a markedly more diverse assembly than the U.S.-based Billboard Hot 100, which is made up of approximately 80% U.S. artists. The Global Excl. U.S. chart over the past year sees America's lead shrink to 33%, its reign encroached on by more than 50 territories from five continents.
Latin and South American markets are the most prominent territories making such inroads. Artists from Puerto Rico, Colombia, Brazil and Argentina combine to make up 23% of the Global Excl. U.S. survey's first year. Their reach includes crossover superstars such as Bad Bunny (from Puerto Rico), J Balvin and Karol G (both Colombia), as well as regional success stories including Bizarrap (Argentina) and João Gomes (Brazil).
Asian pop also made a considerable slice in the global music pie, combining for more than 7% of the Global Excl U.S. ranking. South Korea has exported several international crossovers such as BTS and BLACKPINK, while Japan has been more insular, with less collaboration and hip-hop influence. It makes sense then, that South Korea has made a slightly bigger impact than Japan on the Global 200 (though each is close to a 2% share), despite the latter having a bigger share of the Global Excl. U.S. chart (4.2% to 3.1%).
For the crossover stars of Colombia, Puerto Rico and South Korea, collaboration has been key to transcending any geographical or language borders. Tracks such as the pan-Latin "Relación" brought together acts from Colombia (J Balvin), Panama (Sech), Puerto Rico (Daddy Yankee and Farruko) and Spain (Rosalía), while South Korea's BLACKPINK earned entries duetting with Cardi B and Selena Gomez.
It's not only acts with non-English-language hits achieving extra exposure, as, conversely, North American and European artists have looked outside their respective regions for diverse chart hits. Notably, Jason Derulo, has built his global chart history with a series of remixes of hits by international artists and producers, snowballing each song’s original momentum on the likes of YouTube and SoundCloud with his own name-brand familiarity. The strategy paid off in the highest form when "Savage Love – Laxed (Siren Beat)," with Jawsh 685 (New Zealand) and BTS, topped the Global 200 in October 2020.

Khan's weekly update time! This one is a pretty cool week imo, even if just for one continent. docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1jSdctFcLyQl6HJYoi9Jr2OHFGkn-TBnxWVFNxMlzrto/edit?usp=sharing- As I'm sure everyone could guess, Nigeria is our big big winner today! Because of CKay having just a massive amount of remixes for "Love Nwantiti" he becomes Nigeria's highest peaking artist on both charts this week, taking the title from Darkoo who was on the "Body" remix. Nigeria and the entire continent of Africa break into the top ten on the main chart and the top five on the Excl. US chart for the first time ever. This also makes my spreadsheet look prettier because I don't need to make room for the super long credit list on "Body" anymore, but mostly congrats Africa! As a side note, the song's success is driven off of those remixes I mentioned before which could theoretically credit all new countries on this list like Ghana, but it's the main version with just CKay that gets the credit for now, so oh well. - One more new peak to talk about, and that's Indonesia on the Excl. US chart. Rich Brian's song there made some gains, but it hasn't broken into the main chart just yet. - Now for the October 2nd specific news. Lil Nas X takes back the belt for biggest American song in the world. The Hvme remix of "Goosebumps" with Travis Scott makes him once again the biggest Spaniard because it is hella stable. Brazil is finally back on the main chart after being surprisingly absent for a while for such a big music industry, this time with Henrique & Juliano. Because of a little technicality, South Korean boyband NCT 127 takes the title for biggest Japanese song this week (one of their members, Yuta, is Japanese) which is a shame for the new Yoasobi song that debuted two spots lower lol.

The Billboard Global 200 and Billboard Global Excl. U.S. charts recently celebrated their first birthday, with a full (and free) report spotlighting the biggest artists, newest names and timeliest trends from the last year.
But on the latest, Oct. 2-dated charts, some hits of the past came back into play.
Taylor Swift debuts two songs on this week's global charts. At No. 25 on the Global 200 and No. 34 on the Global Excl. U.S. chart is "Wildest Dreams (Taylor's Version)," and at Nos. 170 and 188, respectively, is the original "Wildest Dreams," from 2014's 1989. The original is the first of Swift's Big Machine-era songs to appear on the global charts.
Swift released the new take as part of her ongoing series of re-recordings of her first six albums. The new "(Taylor's Version)," released Sept. 17, debuts with 24.1 million worldwide streams and 18,400 copies sold in the week ending Sept. 23, according to MRC Data. The original drew 10 million streams (up 27%) and sold 1,000 copies (up 26%). In April, Swift dropped Fearless (Taylor's Version), the first of her planned re-recorded albums. Its first sneak peak was "Love Story (Taylor's Version)," which debuted and peaked at No. 17 on both global charts in February (with 34.1 million streams and 21,900 sold worldwide). That re-record hit higher than the first-week results for the new "Wildest Dreams," but it didn't send the original "Love Story" (from 2008) back to the charts, like the "Wildest Dreams" double-up.
Swift will continue the "Taylor's Version" franchise with Red (Taylor's Version), due out Nov. 19.
"Wildest Dreams" isn't the only older song to re-appear in new clothes on this week's global charts. Decades after topping the Billboard Hot 100 in 1986, Whitney Houston's "How Will I Know" gets dressed up and re-worked as "If You Really Love Me (How Will I Know)" by David Guetta, Mistajam and John Newman. The interpolation debuts on the Global Excl. U.S. chart at No. 154 on the back of 5.8 million streams and 2,400 copies sold outside the U.S.
The "How Will I Know" reimagination follows other producers' updates of classic hits. Kygo scored two global chart entries in 2020 with remixes of Tina Turner's "What's Love Got to Do With It" and Donna Summer's "Hot Stuff" (co-crediting each legend). Plus, earlier this year, British DJ Majestic updated Boney M.'s "Rasputin," fresh off a TikTok-aided resurgence, hitting the Global Excl. U.S. chart just over two months after the 1978 original scored two weeks on the tally.
Somewhere in between Guetta's remix and Swift's update is Travis Scott's "Goosebumps." His 2016 original has spent a full year on the Global 200 (so far) and 30 weeks on the Global Excl. U.S. chart. But at the turn of 2021, a remix with Spanish producer HVME started charting alongside its inspiration. The new version reached No. 10 on Global Excl. U.S. and No. 15 on the Global 200, after the original hit Nos. 113 and 102, respectively.
"Wildest Dreams" follows "Goosebumps" as the second song to appear on the global charts simultaneously in two iterations.

One year after the launch of the Billboard Global 200 and Billboard Global Excl. U.S. charts, we’re recapping the biggest hits, newest names and more from around the world with Billboard and MRC Data’s Global Music and Chart Report: A Year in Review.
The two charts collate data from more than 200 international territories, with the Global 200 based on worldwide digital sales and official audio and video streaming and Global Excl. U.S. excluding U.S. data.
The new Billboard & MRC Data report, among other findings, dives deep into a pocket of songs that have been lifted onto the global charts by the power of video streaming.
Notable videos such as Lil Nas X’s “Montero (Call Me By Your Name),” Future’s “Life Is Good” featuring Drake, and, a chart hit in its own right, Pinkfong’s “Baby Shark” have each racked up massive views online, helping these songs heighten and extend their global chart runs.
Meanwhile around the world, video streaming helps diversify the charts, specifically with hits sprinkled throughout Asia.
Japan and South Korea make up for the bulk of representation for Asian artists, although certain Indian acts have found success bolstered by official music videos for their charting hits. Jubin Nautiyal’s “Lut Gaye,” featuring Emraan Hashmi, climbed to No. 23 on the Global Excl. U.S. survey in April. But throughout the Hindi-language track’s chart run, it was the most or second-most streamed video in the world, despite never cracking the top 20 of the Global Excl. U.S. list or the top 40 of the Global 200.
Similar stories go for B Praak’s “Filhaal 2: Mohabbat” and “Baariah Ki Jaaye,” both of which ranked among the top five videos for every week they charted, peaking at Nos. 68 and 134, respectively, on the Global Excl. U.S. chart.
One viewing of the aforementioned Bollywood-inspired videos shows why audiences are driven in droves to video rather than audio. They all showcase advanced choreography, set design, costuming and cinematography that resemble short films rather than typical promotional clips. And despite a worldwide halt to film production due to COVID-19, a tie-in with mega-popular Bollywood films never hurts.
It’s not just official music videos that help power the Billboard global charts. Short-form video, primarily trending in every direction on TikTok, helps fuel interest beyond the limits of social media. Though views on TikTok don’t count directly toward the charts, sales and streams regularly spike once a dance trend or sound clip goes viral on the app, pushing songs new and old onto the charts. From Fleetwood Mac to Kali Uchis, video virality has led to some of the year’s biggest hits, such as Måneskin's "Beggin' " and Nathan Evans' "Wellerman."

Plus, Elton John and Dua Lipa's "Cold Heart" hits the Global Excl. U.S. top 10.
The sky's the limit for Coldplay and BTS, as their collaborative new single "My Universe" debuts at No. 1 on both the Billboard Global 200 and Billboard Global Excl. U.S. charts.
Plus, Elton John and Dua Lipa's "Cold Heart (Pnau Remix)" reaches the Global Excl. U.S. top 10, climbing 11-9.
Billboard's two global charts (the latest of which are dated Oct. 9) began in September 2020 and rank songs based on streaming and sales activity culled from more than 200 territories around the world, as compiled by MRC Data. The Billboard Global 200 is inclusive of worldwide data and the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. chart comprises data from territories excluding the U.S.
Chart ranks are based on a weighted formula incorporating official-only streams on both subscription and ad-supported tiers of audio and video music services, as well as download sales, the latter of which reflect purchases from full-service digital music retailers from around the world, with sales from direct-to-consumer (D2C) sites excluded from the charts' calculations.
'Universe' Rules the World
Britain's Coldplay and South Korea's BTS blast off at No. 1 on the Billboard Global 200 with "My Universe." Released Sept. 24, the single, sung mostly in English with some lyrics in Korean, starts with 95.4 million streams and 142,400 downloads sold worldwide in the Sept. 24-30 tracking week. It's BTS' record-extending sixth leader on the list and Coldplay's first over the chart's year-plus archives.
The Kid LAROI and Justin Bieber's "Stay" slips to No. 2 on the Global 200 after nine weeks on top, the most for any song so far. The track drew 106.2 million streams (down 8%) and sold 17,200 downloads (down 17%) and, notably, pushes its unprecedented run to eight consecutive weeks with over 100 million global streams, after tallying 115.6 million (Oct. 2), 115.7 million (Sept. 25), 119.8 million (Sept. 18), 125.7 million (Sept. 11), 124.9 million (Sept. 4), 123.7 million (Aug. 28) and 108.5 million (Aug. 21).
Lil Nas X and Jack Harlow's "Industry Baby" backtracks to No. 3 on the Global 200, from its No. 2 high.
Nigeria's CKay surges 8-4 on the Global 200 with "Love Nwantiti (Ah Ah Ah)." In its third week on the chart, the Afrobeat song sports gains of 36% to 68.9 million streams and 76% to 4,500 sold worldwide. It's the first entry by an artist from Africa to hit the top five (after becoming the first such top 10) on the chart.
Rounding out the Global 200's top five, Ed Sheeran's "Bad Habits" drops 3-5, following a week at No. 1.
Collabs Likewise Top Two on Global Excl. U.S.; John & Lipa Hit Top 10
Coldplay and BTS' "My Universe" bounds onto the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. chart at No. 1 with 84.4 million streams and 90,500 downloads sold in territories outside the U.S. in the Sept. 24-30 tracking week. BTS earns its fifth No. 1 on the tally and Coldplay achieves its first.
The Kid LAROI and Justin Bieber's "Stay" descends to No. 2 after seven weeks atop the Global Excl. U.S. chart, with 84.2 million streams (down 8%) and 8,800 sold (down 13%).
CKay's "Love Nwantiti (Ah Ah Ah)" rises 4-3 for a new high on the Global Excl. U.S. ranking; Ed Sheeran's "Bad Habits" dips 3-4, after five weeks at No. 1; and Lil Nas X and Jack Harlow's "Industry Baby" retreats to No. 5 from its No. 2 best.
Elsewhere in the Global Excl. U.S. chart's top 10, Elton John and Dua Lipa's "Cold Heart (Pnau Remix)" ascends to the tier, climbing 11-9 with 25.9 million streams (up 10%) and 17,900 sold (up 1%) beyond the U.S. John logs his first top on the ranking and Lipa lands her third. In the mash-up, John sings part of his 1990 hit "Sacrifice" and Lipa reprises his 1972 classic "Rocket Man," as well as his 1983 single "Kiss the Bride" (while the single's coda interpolates John's 1976 track "Where's the Shoorah?") Joining the two British stars, Australian trio Pnau sports co-writing and co-production credit on "Cold Heart." The Billboard Global 200 and Billboard Global Excl. U.S. charts (dated Oct. 9) will update on Billboard.com tomorrow (Oct. 5). For both charts, the top 100 titles are available to all readers on Billboard.com, while the complete 200-title rankings are visible on Billboard Pro, Billboard's subscription-based service. For all chart news, you can follow billboard and billboardcharts on both Twitter and Instagram.

Khan update. Wow a surprising amount of news this week that came outta nowhere! This is the power of BTS... docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1jSdctFcLyQl6HJYoi9Jr2OHFGkn-TBnxWVFNxMlzrto/edit?usp=sharing- Something I neglected to even think about until I started doing this week's update is Coldplay contains a Welsh and Scottish member! Guitarist Jonny Buckland already represented Wales's peak on this chart through "Higher Power" and you can't forget that bassist Guy Berryman is Scottish. This means that on both charts this week, Wales and Scotland notch their first #1 hits! For Scotland, this takes the peak away from Nathan Evans and that funny sea shanty meme from earlier this year. This makes them the second and third sub-national units to hit this high on the chart, after Puerto Rico. It's also the second #1 hit for the UK as a whole! This is the second country that BTS has brought up to the #1 spot, after New Zealand. - CKay keeps rising because of the vast international success of "Love Nwantiti (Ah Ah Ah)" which puts Africa in the top 5 of the main chart and the top 3 of the Excl. US chart. - Belgium news! As I predicted last week, Angèle has been dethroned from having the highest Belgian peak by Lost Frequencies. Only just barely, too. Lost Frequencies rises only two spots above where "Fever" peaked on the main chart and actually ties Angèle on the Excl. US chart, I'm pretty sure only the second instance of a tie at as low of a position as #43. - Finally, only on the Excl. US chart, Rich Brian is doing a slow but steady rise, now bringing Indonesia all the way up to #150 this week. - Time for the October 9 specific fun! I think for the first time ever, Sweden is totally off the main chart. (Might've happened when "Breaking Me" fell off though idk) Official Hige Dandism takes the Japanese top rank this week again after a one-week intrusion last frame. Same with Pol Granch and Marc Seguí for Spain. Lisa replaces herself for the top Thai song as "Money" goes viral.

Billboard's two worldwide tallies rank songs based on streaming and sales data from more than 200 territories.
The Kid LAROI and Justin Bieber's "Stay" is the biggest song in the world, as it tallies an unprecedented 10th week at No. 1 on the Billboard Global 200 chart and an eighth frame atop the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. survey (both dated Oct. 16).
Plus, Elton John and Dua Lipa's "Cold Heart (Pnau Remix)" reaches the Global 200 top 10, rising 12-9, and TWICE's "The Feels" debuts at No. 10 on the Global Excl. U.S. chart.
Billboard's two global charts, which began in September 2020 and recently marked their first year, rank songs based on streaming and sales activity culled from more than 200 territories around the world, as compiled by MRC Data.
'Stay' First Song to 10 Weeks Atop Global 200
"Stay" by The Kid LAROI, from Australia, and Justin Bieber, from Canada, logs a 10th week at No. 1 on the Billboard Global 200, becoming the first song to lead the list for double-digit frames. The song drew 100.1 million streams (down 6%) and sold 15,700 downloads (down 8%) worldwide in the Oct. 1-7 tracking week.
"Stay" extends its record run to nine straight weeks of over 100 million global streams, after logging 106.2 million (Oct. 9), 115.6 million (Oct. 2), 115.7 million (Sept. 25), 119.8 million (Sept. 18), 125.7 million (Sept. 11), 124.9 million (Sept. 4), 123.7 million (Aug. 28) and 108.5 million (Aug. 21).
Nigeria's CKay pushes 4-2 on the Global 200 with "Love Nwantiti (Ah Ah Ah)"; Lil Nas X and Jack Harlow's "Industry Baby" holds at No. 3, after reaching No. 2; Ed Sheeran's "Bad Habits" rebounds 5-4, following a week at No. 1; and Coldplay and BTS' "My Universe" falls to No. 5 a week after it launched at No. 1, down 34% to 63.4 million streams and 79% to 29,700 sold.
Elsewhere in the Global 200's top 10, Elton John and Dua Lipa's "Cold Heart (Pnau Remix)" reaches the region, climbing 12-9 with 34.4 million streams (up 9%) and 27,700 sold (up 3%). John posts his first top 10 on the chart and Lipa adds her second, after "Levitating" hit No. 2 in May. On the Global Excl. U.S. chart, "Heart" ascends 9-7 for a new high.
In the mash-up, John sings part of his 1990 hit "Sacrifice" and Lipa reprises his 1972 classic "Rocket Man," as well as his 1983 nugget "Kiss the Bride" (while the single's coda interpolates John's 1976 track "Where's the Shoorah?") Joining the two British stars, Australian trio Pnau sports co-writing and co-production credit on "Cold Heart." On the U.S.-based Billboard Hot 100 (where "Stay" leads for a seventh week), "Heart" jumps 46-32, becoming John's first top 40 hit since April 1999, when he charted with the No. 29-peaking "Written in the Stars," with LeAnn Rimes; he appeared in the ranking's top 40 for a record 30 consecutive years, from "Your Song" in 1970 through "Stars.
With "Heart," John scores his 58th top 40 Hot 100 hit, the seventh-most in the chart's history (which dates to 1958). Here's an updated leaderboard:}
Most Billboard Hot 100 Top 40 Hits: 143, Drake 87, Lil Wayne 81, Elvis Presley 81, Taylor Swift 68, Kanye West 61, Nicki Minaj 58, Elton John 52, Eminem 52, Jay-Z 51, Glee Cast 51, Rihanna
TWICE's First Top 10
The Kid LAROI and Justin Bieber's "Stay" scores an eighth week atop the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. chart, with 79.4 million streams (down 6%) and 8,500 sold (down 3%) in territories outside the U.S. in the Oct. 1-7 tracking week.
CKay's "Love Nwantiti (Ah Ah Ah)" rises 3-2 for a new Global Excl. U.S. best; Coldplay and BTS' "My Universe" drops to No. 3, a week after soaring in at No. 1; Ed Sheeran's "Bad Habits" keeps at No. 4, after five weeks at No. 1; and Lil Nas X and Jack Harlow's "Industry Baby" is steady at No. 5, following its No. 2 peak.
Plus, TWICE's "The Feels" enters the Global Excl. U.S. chart at No. 10 with 50.9 million streams and 8,800 sold beyond the U.S. With its first English-language single, released Oct. 1, the nine-member South Korean group (which formed in 2015 and comprises Chaeyoung, Dahyun, Jeongyeon, Jihyo, Mina, Momo, Nayeon, Sana and Tzuyu) earns its first top 10 on the chart, following two top 40 entries: "I Can't Stop Me" (No. 16, November 2020) and "Alcohol-Free" (No. 22, this June).
"The Feels" introduces TWICE's third LP, Formula of Love: O+T=<3, due Nov. 12.
The Billboard Global 200 and Billboard Global Excl. U.S. charts (dated Oct. 16) will update on Billboard.com tomorrow (Oct. 12). For both charts, the top 100 titles are available to all readers on Billboard.com, while the complete 200-title rankings are visible on Billboard Pro, Billboard's subscription-based service. Khan's time to update the global charts has returned! Places across four continents get news this week, which is always a fun moment. docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1jSdctFcLyQl6HJYoi9Jr2OHFGkn-TBnxWVFNxMlzrto/edit?usp=sharing- We start with Taiwan! Due to one member of Twice, Tzuyu, being Taiwanese, the disputed land gets a new peak in the top 20 of the main 200 and the top 10 of the Excl. US chart. Of course, the previous record was also held by Tzuyu on "I Can't Stop Me" so this was expected with how much "The Feels" has blown up. In addition, Momo, Sana, and Mina of Twice are Japanese, so Japan gets its second highest entry on the main chart ever, only under "Homura" by LiSA, and "The Feels" is technically the highest Japanese song on this week's chart. - Another note to make is that Nigeria has crept into the #2 spot on both charts this week, due to the incredible power of CKay and his remixes. This just keeps rising, so we might see our first African #1 hit very soon! - Belgium has gotten a small new peak of about ten spots over the last frame because of Lost Frequencies steadily gaining in popularity. The tie with Angèle from last week on the Excl. US chart is broken, meaning Lost Frequencies now holds the uncontested Belgian trophy on both charts! - One last new peak to discuss, only on the Excl. US chart, is Jamaica. The confusingly named Rvssian is a dancehall producer whose "Nostálgico" collab with Rauw Alejandro and Chris Brown has climbed over BEAM's previous Jamaican peak. That means we finally have a Jamaican lead artists as the top peak for the country! - Now onto the October 16th specifics. Julieta Venegas takes the Mexican lead for now off a Bad Bunny feature. Austria ekes onto the Excl. US again by a collab between producer LUM!X and the blue da be dee guy. Kimbra reps New Zealand on "Somebody That I Used to Know" in the main 200 this week because lol no recurrency rules. Brazil is back on the bottom of the main 200 again, and I don't understand how that's apparently in contention when Brazil is such a massive music market.

The Oct. 16-dated Billboard Global 200 and Billboard Global Excl. U.S. charts sport a combined 23 debuts. Fewer than half, 10, are English-language songs by Americans, with five by one artist, as first-week streams for Meek Mill's new album Expensive Pain impact the surveys.
Elsewhere, international acts, primarily from Asia and Latin America, enter the global charts.
Three Spanish-language songs debut on the Global 200, although they are absent from the Global Excl. U.S. list, against trend for typical non-English-language titles. Two are by Mexican artists as Ivan Cornejo's "Esta Danada" and Grupo Firme's "Ya Superame" start at Nos. 181 and 198, respectively. In the week ending Oct. 7, they drew 7.8 million and 6.8 million global streams, respectively, with both selling about 500 downloads, according to MRC Data. Perhaps less surprising, Kali Uchis' "Fue Mejor" arrives at No. 187 on the Global 200. The song comes in multiple versions, one with singer-songwriter PARTYNEXTDOOR and the other, released Sept. 29, features SZA. In both iterations, the song alternates between English and Spanish-language sections, much like Kali Uchis' other 2021 global hit, "Telepatía," which reached No. 10 on both the Global 200 and Global Excl. U.S. charts.
Kali Uchis and SZA are both American and PARTYNEXTDOOR is just upstairs in Canada, making the overperformance of "Fue Mejor" in the U.S. fairly logical. The song drew 76% of its global sales (400 total) and 55% of its streams (8.7 million total) from the U.S., far beyond the week's respective averages of 54% and 24%. But its Latin rhythms and Spanish lyrics still cast it as an outlier among Latin songs in terms of its Global 200 debut while not ranking on the Global Excl. U.S. list.
Halfway around the world, South Korea is represented by bows for TWICE ("The Feels" at No. 10 on Global Excl. U.S. and No. 12 on Global 200) and aespa ("Savage" at Nos. 44 and 77). The former is the highest debut on both charts and is the most-streamed music video of the week, with 35.7 million clicks worldwide.
And slightly to the east, two Japanese artists debut on the Global Excl. U.S. chart, with back number's "Yellow" at No. 99 and B'z's "Unite" at No. 109.
("Yellow" is one of two song titles to double up on the chart, as Coldplay's 2000 song of the same name hangs at No. 130 in its 38th week on the survey. Elsewhere, "Loco" is at Nos. 45 and 124, by Itzy and Justin Quiles, Chimbalana and Zion & Lennox, respectively. The Kid LAROI and Eminem come close with "Without You" and "Without Me" at Nos. 100 and 167, respectively.)
Finally, three European acts join for a No. 192 Global Excl. U.S. debut, as Gabry Ponte, Prezioso (both from Italy) and LUM!X (Austria) enter with "Thunder." It's the first appearance for each artist on the ranking, although Ponte is no stranger to Billboard's charts. As part of Eiffel 65, he hit No. 6 on the Billboard Hot 100 in January 2000 with the act's pop/dance classic "Blue (Da Ba Dee)."

Billboard's two worldwide tallies rank songs based on streaming and sales data from more than 200 territories.
The Kid LAROI and Justin Bieber's "Stay" continues as the biggest song in the world, as it logs an 11th week at No. 1 on the Billboard Global 200 chart and a ninth frame atop the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. survey (both dated Oct. 23).
Plus, "Money" by BLACKPINK's Lisa reaches the top 10 of both the Global 200, where it jumps 19-10, and the Global Excl. U.S. chart (11-7).
Billboard's two global charts, which began in September 2020 and recently finished their first year, rank songs based on streaming and sales activity culled from more than 200 territories around the world, as compiled by MRC Data.
Stay' No. 1, 'Shivers' Top 5 on Global 200
"Stay" by The Kid LAROI, from Australia, and Justin Bieber, from Canada, posts an 11th week at No. 1 on the Billboard Global 200. The song drew 91.4 million streams (down 9%) and sold 19,300 downloads (up 23%, helped by its placement in the iTunes Store's "69¢ Pop Hits" promotion) worldwide in the Oct. 8-14 tracking week.
Nigeria's CKay holds at his No. 2 high on the Global 200 with "Love Nwantiti (Ah Ah Ah)"; Lil Nas X and Jack Harlow's "Industry Baby" keeps at No. 3, after reaching No. 2; and Ed Sheeran's "Bad Habits" rebounds 5-4, following a week at No. 1, and his "Shivers" hits a new No. 5 best, up from No. 6.
Elsewhere in the Global 200 top 10, "Money" by BLACKPINK's Lisa soars 19-10. Following the Oct. 10 premiere of its "dance practice" video, building upon the momentum of its "exclusive performance" clip released Sept. 23, the song sports gains of 28% to 66.3 million and 6% to 4,400 sold in the latest tracking week.
Lisa earns her second Global 200 top 10, after "Lalisa" debuted at its No. 2 peak on the Sept. 25 chart. South Korea's BLACKPINK, with Lisa, born in Thailand, as a member, also boasts two top 10s on the survey, as "Ice Cream," with Selena Gomez, hit No. 8 in September 2020 and "Lovesick Girls" reached No. 2 the following month.
'Money' Also Cashes on Global Excl. U.S.
The Kid LAROI and Justin Bieber's "Stay" adds a ninth week atop the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. chart, with 72.1 million streams (down 9%) and 7,100 sold (down 17%) in territories outside the U.S. in the Oct. 8-14 tracking week.
CKay's "Love Nwantiti (Ah Ah Ah)" repeats at its No. 2 Global Excl. U.S. best; Ed Sheeran's "Bad Habits" lifts 4-3, after five weeks at No. 1; Lil Nas X and Jack Harlow's "Industry Baby" climbs 5-4, following its No. 2 peak; and Sheeran's "Shivers" reaches the top five (6-5).
Plus, Lisa's "Money" ascends 11-7 on the Global Excl. U.S. chart with 61.5 million streams (up 28%) and 3,000 sold (down 3%) beyond the U.S. As on the Global 200, she achieves her second Global Excl. U.S. top 10, after "Lalisa" (No. 2, Sept. 25). With Lisa as a member, BLACKPINK has also tallied two Global Excl. U.S. top 10s: "Ice Cream" (No. 6, September 2020) and "Lovesick Girls" (No. 1, upon its debut, October 2020). The Billboard Global 200 and Billboard Global Excl. U.S. charts (dated Oct. 23) will update on Billboard.com tomorrow (Oct. 19). For both charts, the top 100 titles are available to all readers on Billboard.com, while the complete 200-title rankings are visible on Billboard Pro, Billboard's subscription-based service. For all chart news, you can follow billboard and billboardcharts on both Twitter and Instagram.

Bit later than usual but it's another week for Khan to update the Global 200! Bunch of lowkey news this frame, but news indeed. docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1jSdctFcLyQl6HJYoi9Jr2OHFGkn-TBnxWVFNxMlzrto/edit?usp=sharing- First of all, new country! I know some of you will be excited by this one. After rising slowly over the past few weeks on the Excl. US chart, "Edamame" by bbno$ and Rich Brain finally debuts in the lower quarter of the main chart. Through Rich Brian, this puts Indonesia on the main 200 for the first time ever. Despite the title of the song deriving from a Japanese bean... It gets a new peak on the Excl. US chart, too, as expected. - Another country gets a giant boost out of nowhere. Previously represented at the mega low spot of #192 by System of a Down, Lebanon slingshots to almost exactly a hundred spots higher, as Realestk's "WFM" debuts at #93 on the main chart. (Nowhere to be found on the Excl. US chart, though.) "WFM" samples another song that's been shaking up the Global 200, "Talking to the Moon" by Bruno Mars. That TikTok virality bleeding over allows the Beirut-born singer to take his homeland up to the top half of the chart completely by surprise. - Belgium moves up a couple spots on both charts because of Lost Frequencies, now finally sneaking into the top 50 on the main 200. - On the Excl. US chart, Rvssian brings up Jamaica's peak by one spot, just from regular growth. - And finally, the October 23rd specific stuff. Norway makes a surprise return to both charts through their national anthem, "Take On Me" by A-ha. Another legacy dance act, Daft Punk, is able to take back their long-lost role as kings of France this week, just from other more current French songs falling off. (It's "Starboy" if you're curious.) And to complete the trifecta of old electronic songs, Hvme's "Goosebumps" remix with Travis Scott is, again, the biggest song from Spain this week. In hindsight that news wasn't that lowkey...

While the world devours the newest release from a certain divorced British torch singer, another U.K. export enters the global charts. Jesy Nelson arrives at No. 86 on the Billboard Global 200 and at No. 96 on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. tally with her debut solo single, "Boyz," featuring Nicki Minaj.
Following its Oct. 8 release, the duet from "the U.K. baddie and the Barbie" scored 7.6 million streams and sold 13,700 downloads around the world in the week ending Oct. 14, according to MRC Data. It's the first solo chart entry for Nelson, whose former group Little Mix has logged four hits on the global charts, including "Heartbreak Anthem" with Galantis and David Guetta (No. 52 on the Global 200 in July); Nelson departed the act in late 2020.
Minaj adds her 10th hit on the Global 200, although her third on the Global Excl. U.S. survey. The common thread among her three non-U.S. hits? Non-U.S. collaborators (even if the international presence on "Seeing Green" [No. 18 Global 200; No. 117 Global Excl. U.S.] is global superstar, and Toronto native, Drake). Her biggest Excl. U.S. hit, dating to the charts' September 2020 inceptions, is "Tusa" with Karol G (from Colombia), a No. 75 hit just after the list launched. Elsewhere, Latin music is spotlighted by two debuting collaborations between Spanish and Argentine artists. At No. 73 on the Global Excl. U.S. chart and No. 140 on the Global 200, C. Tangana (Spain) and Nathy Peluso (Argentina) arrive with "Ateo." The debut was driven by 14 million streams worldwide, skewing 97% from outside the U.S.
At No. 154 on Global Excl. U.S., Bizarrap (Argentina) teams with Ptazeta (Spain) on "Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 45." It's the sixth edition of Bizarrap's Music Sessions franchise to hit the chart, following volumes with Nicky Jam, Eladio Carrion, Snow Tha Product, L-Gante, and, to bring us full circle, Nathy Peluso.
And finally, the Global Excl. U.S. chart welcomes A.R. Rahman and Shreya Ghoshal's "Param Sundari" at No. 184. It's the first global chart hit for both acts, the newest in a growing roster of Indian artists to impact the global lists. Notably, and long before the global surveys' starts, Rahman hit No. 15 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 2009 with "Jai Ho! (You Are My Destiny)," with The Pussycat Dolls featuring Nicole Scherzinger. The song, from the box office hit Slumdog Millionaire, also won the Academy Award for best original song and a Grammy Award for best song written for a motion picture, television or other visual media.
