In a historic week for The Weeknd on the U.S.-based Billboard Hot 100, the Canadian superstar's new single "Take My Breath" is the highest debut on the Billboard Global 200 and Billboard Global Excl. U.S. charts, at Nos. 5 and 7, respectively. It's the only arrival in the top 40 of either tally, and one of only two songs to debut simultaneously on both rankings dated Aug. 21.
The other double debut is a cross-country collaboration, as "Lose" by English YouTuber KSI and New Orleans-raised rap legend Lil Wayne enters the charts at Nos. 74 and 119, respectively.
Collaboration in hip-hop isn't just prevalent, it's ubiquitous. Recent releases by Tyler, the Creator, Migos, and Polo G, among others, continue the tradition of acts in the genre spotlighting fellow rap stars. The same goes for British rappers such as Dave, Skepta and Stormzy.
But it's rarer for hip-hop acts from different sides of the pond to mingle, as drill and grime lead the U.K. scene and trap and pop-infused rap dominates the U.S. The arrival of "Lose" blends the two countries' styles and pays off with not only debuts on both global rankings, but KSI's first entry on the domestic Hot 100, at No. 86.
Released Aug. 6, "Lose" starts with global counts of 12.4 million streams and 12,600 downloads sold in the week ending Aug. 12, according to MRC Data.
Elsewhere on the Global Excl. U.S. chart, "Vamos a Marte" by Germany's Helene Fischer debuts at No. 165, with help from Puerto Rico's Luis Fonsi in a featured role. The German/Spanish-language song is the first of its kind since the global surveys began last September, as most charted multi-lingual duets have included English (although not Aya Nakamura and Maluma's "Djadja," performed in French and Spanish).
Meanwhile, Sefo's "Bilmem Mi?" becomes the highest-peaking song by an artist from Turkey with a No. 121 debut on the Global Excl. U.S. chart; South Korea's SOMI enters at No. 130 with "Dumb Dumb"; and Sahdev Dirdo, Badshah, Aastha Gill and Rico, all from India, debut at No. 184 with "Bachpan Ka Pyaar."

The Kid LAROI and Justin Bieber again boast the biggest song in the world, as "Stay" spends a fourth week at No. 1 on the Billboard Global 200 chart and a second week atop the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. survey.
Plus, Farruko's "Pepas" ascends to the top 10 of both the Global 200 and Global Excl. U.S. charts and Doja Cat's "Need to Know" reaches the top 10 of the latter list.
Billboard's two global charts (the latest of which are dated Aug. 28) began last September and rank songs based on streaming and sales activity culled from more than 200 territories around the world, as compiled by MRC Data. The Billboard Global 200 is inclusive of worldwide data and the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. chart comprises data from territories excluding the U.S.
Chart ranks are based on a weighted formula incorporating official-only streams on both subscription and ad-supported tiers of audio and video music services, as well as download sales, the latter of which reflect purchases from full-service digital music retailers from around the world, with sales from direct-to-consumer (D2C) sites excluded from the charts' calculations.
'Stay' Scores Fourth Week Atop Global 200
"Stay" by The Kid LAROI, from Australia, and Justin Bieber, from Canada, logs a fourth week at No. 1 on the Billboard Global 200. The song drew 123.7 million streams (up 14%) and sold 24,800 downloads (up 18%) worldwide in the Aug. 13-19 tracking week.
Improving from 108.5 million the week before, "Stay" is the fourth track in 2021 to log multiple weeks of over 100 million global streams, after Olivia Rodrigo's "Drivers License" (130.1 million, 138.9 million, 110.5 million; Jan. 23-Feb. 6); Lil Nas X's "Montero (Call Me by Your Name)" (109.3 million, 107.2 million; April 17-24); and BTS' "Butter" (289.5 million, 169.9 million, 120.9 million, 101.7 million; June 5-19, July 3).
Ed Sheeran's "Bad Habits" holds at No. 2 on the Global 200, after a week atop the chart; Lil Nas X and Jack Harlow's "Industry Baby" keeps at its No. 3 high; Måneskin's "Beggin' " remains at No. 4 after hitting No. 3; and Olivia Rodrigo's "Good 4 U" rebounds 6-5 after six weeks at No. 1.
Elsewhere in the Global 200's top 10, Farruko's "Pepas" bounds 16-8 (58 million streams, up 8%; 3,700 sold, up 10%, worldwide). The singer-songwriter from Puerto Rico notches his first top 10 on the tally.
Plus, Doja Cat's "Need to Know" reaches the Global 200's top 10, rising 12-10 (51.8 million streams, up 9%; 2,300 sold, up 5%, globally). It's the Los Angeles native's third top 10 on the chart, following "Streets" (No. 8, February) and "Kiss Me More," featuring SZA (No. 3, May).
'Stay' No. 1 for Second Week Outside U.S. The Kid LAROI and Justin Bieber's "Stay" adds a second week atop the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. chart, with 92.8 million streams (up 18%) and 10,500 sold (up 24%) in territories outside the U.S. in the Aug. 13-19 tracking week. The rest of the Global Excl. U.S. chart's top five holds in place: Ed Sheeran's "Bad Habits," at No. 2 after five weeks at No. 1; Måneskin's "Beggin'," at No. 3 after hitting No. 2; Lil Nas X and Jack Harlow's "Industry Baby," at its No. 4 best; and Olivia Rodrigo's "Good 4 U," at No. 5 following five weeks at its No. 2 peak. Plus, Farruko's "Pepas" jumps 13-6 on the Global Excl. U.S. chart (47.2 million streams, up 6%; 1,100 sold, up 23%, outside the U.S.) Farruko earns his second Global Excl. U.S. top 10, after reaching No. 8 last September as featured, with Rosalía, on Sech, Daddy Yankee and J Balvin's "Relación." The Billboard Global 200 and Billboard Global Excl. U.S. charts (dated Aug. 28) will update on Billboard.com tomorrow (Aug. 24). For both charts, the top 100 titles are available to all readers on Billboard.com, while the complete 200-title rankings are visible on Billboard Pro, Billboard's subscription-based service. For all chart news, you can follow billboard and billboardcharts on both Twitter and Instagram.

In this weekly update from Khan on the global charts, most of the news is contained in the week-specific info at the end. docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1jSdctFcLyQl6HJYoi9Jr2OHFGkn-TBnxWVFNxMlzrto/edit?usp=sharing- Sleepy Hallow makes Jamaica's score a little higher on the main chart and almost catches up to BEAM on the Excl. US chart. - Turkey is our big winner for the week! Not only did the song that debuted last week, "Bilmem Mi?" by Sefo, launch itself into the top 50 on the Excl. US chart, it also debuted at a very respectable #82 on the main chart. That gives the poultry land its very first entry ever on the latter chart. - And now the many things special to August 28th! I made a bit of a mistake and should have counted Marc Seguí and Pol Granch as the Spanish leaders a couple weeks ago, but now their appearance on the "Tiroteo" remix makes Hvme's "Goosebumps" remix not the leader for the first time in a while. In Japan, Official Hige Dandism's theme song for an anime show becomes the leader for that country this week, Higedan's first time doing so. Ingratax's TikTok song finally becomes the Mexican leader after growing in virality for a while, knocking off Gera MX and Christian Nodal. The "Essence" remix now includes Bieber, but it was already the top Nigerian song. Bella Poarch replaces herself as the Philippine leader with her new song. Norway and Germany make a surprise comeback by a collab between Kygo and Zoe Wees. (Fun fact, that song is at #141 on both charts, which is quite rare.) Puerto Rico is now led by Farruko, with Bad Bunny kicked out of that spot. Finally, our old Indian leaders Badshah and Aastha Gill are back on top for the nation, this time bringing Sahdev Dirdo and Rico along with them.

More than 20 songs debut on the Aug. 28-dated Billboard Global 200 and Billboard Global Excl. U.S. charts, led by Lizzo and Cardi B's "Rumors" at Nos. 12 and 29, respectively.
Elsewhere, two songs enter the Global 200 after getting a head start on last week's Global Excl. U.S. survey, while two songs do the opposite, launching on the latter list after debuting on the former.
Turkey's Sefo finds himself on the Global 200 for the first time, as "Bilmem Mi?" arrives at No. 82, while rocketing 121-41 on the Global Excl. U.S. chart. It's the first Turkish-language song to hit the former survey and the fourth to hit the latter (following two mixed German-Turkish-language titles).
Sahdev Dirdo, Badshah, Aastha Gill and Rico -- all from India -- debut on the Global 200 at No. 88 with "Bachpan Ka Pyaar," while vaulting 184-50 on the Global Excl. U.S. chart. It's the first song on either chart for Rico and Dirdo, while Badshah and Gill previously hit both lists with "Paani Paani."
Like "Paani Paani" and other Bollywood hits that have reached the global charts, "Bachpan Ka Pyaar" owes its strong showing to its official music video, which accounted for the bulk of the song's 42 million total streams in the week ending Aug. 19, according to MRC Data (marking the 13th-best streaming sum among all songs worldwide in the tracking week). Meanwhile, Wizkid's "Essence," featuring Justin Bieber and Tems, starts at No. 60 on the Global Excl. U.S. chart as it shoots 87-28 on the Global 200. The track gets its major lift in part due to the new Bieber remix, released Aug. 13, with the Canadian superstar joining the two Nigerian acts on the ascendant hit.
Plus, Doja Cat breaks onto the Global Excl. U.S. ranking at No. 152 with "Get Into It (Yuh)," as it jumps 108-65 in its third week on the Global 200. It's as the Los Angeles native's 15th title to hit the former list, as her log of simultaneously charting songs builds. On this week's surveys, she lands eight songs on the Global 200 and six on the Global Excl. U.S. ranking, outpaced only by Olivia Rodrigo (seven) on the latter, and tying her for the most on the former.

Billboard's two worldwide tallies rank songs based on streaming and sales data from more than 200 territories.
The Kid LAROI and Justin Bieber's "Stay" is again the biggest song in the world, as it spends a fifth week at No. 1 on the Billboard Global 200 chart and a third week atop the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. survey.
Plus, Farruko's "Pepas" ascends from No. 6 to No. 5 on the Global Excl. U.S. chart, where it becomes his first top five hit, and Doja Cat's "Need to Know" climbs 10-6 on the Global 200 and reaches the top 10 (15-10) of the Global Excl. U.S. survey.
Billboard's two global charts (the latest of which are dated Sept. 4) began in September 2020 and rank songs based on streaming and sales activity culled from more than 200 territories around the world, as compiled by MRC Data. The Billboard Global 200 is inclusive of worldwide data and the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. chart comprises data from territories excluding the U.S.

'Stay' Adds Fifth Week Atop Global 200
"Stay" by The Kid LAROI, from Australia, and Justin Bieber, from Canada, posts a fifth week at No. 1 on the Billboard Global 200. The song drew 124.9 million streams (up 1%) and sold 24,500 downloads (down 1%) worldwide in the Aug. 20-26 tracking week.
"Stay" presides over a steady top five on the Global 200, followed by Ed Sheeran's "Bad Habits" at No. 2, after a week atop the chart; Lil Nas X and Jack Harlow's "Industry Baby" at its No. 3 high; Måneskin's "Beggin' " at No. 4, after hitting No. 3; and Olivia Rodrigo's "Good 4 U" at No. 5, following six weeks at No. 1.
Elsewhere in the Global 200's top 10, Doja Cat's "Need to Know" jumps 10-6, up 3% to 53.3 million streams and 33% to 3,000 sold globally.
'Stay' No. 1 for Third Week Outside U.S.
The Kid LAROI and Justin Bieber's "Stay" logs a third week atop the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. chart, with 95.3 million streams (up 3%) and 10,900 sold (up 4%) in territories outside the U.S. in the Aug. 20-26 tracking week.
Ed Sheeran's "Bad Habits" repeats at No. 2 on the Global Excl. U.S. chart, after five weeks at No. 1; Lil Nas X and Jack Harlow's "Industry Baby" lifts 4-3 for a new high; and Måneskin's "Beggin' " dips 3-4, after hitting No. 2.
Plus, Farruko's "Pepas" pushes 6-5 on the Global Excl. U.S. chart (46.8 million streams, down 1%; 1,300 sold, up 19%, outside the U.S.), becoming the first top five hit on the tally for the singer-songwriter from Puerto Rico. Further in the Global Excl. U.S. top 10, Doja Cat's "Need to Know" pounces to the region (15-10), sparked by its 2% gain to 36.2 million streams outside the U.S. The Los Angeles native notches her second top five hit on the chart, after "Kiss Me More," featuring SZA, reached No. 5 in May. The Billboard Global 200 and Billboard Global Excl. U.S. charts (dated Sept. 4) will update on Billboard.com tomorrow (Aug. 31). For both charts, the top 100 titles are available to all readers on Billboard.com, while the complete 200-title rankings are visible on Billboard Pro, Billboard's subscription-based service. This week in Khan's update on the global charts... zero instances of a nation receiving a new peak in any way. This surprisingly hasn't happened in while, but yes it does mean that all the overall rankings are exactly the same as they were last week. All there is to talk about is the news specific to September 4th. docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1jSdctFcLyQl6HJYoi9Jr2OHFGkn-TBnxWVFNxMlzrto/edit?usp=sharing- The Indian film Shershaah, a biopic about a 90s war hero, has impacted the charts here more than any Bollywood film in the past has. While not getting any new Indian peaks, the theme from the movie "Raataan Lambiyan" comes close to cracking that on both charts. It even has Jubin Nautiyal on the song, who holds the overall Indian peak! But even other than that, two other songs from the film's soundtrack by B Praak slip into the Excl. US chart underneath it all, a very good showing for a single movie. - In kiwi news, Lorde has temporarily nabbed the top New Zealand spot from Jawsh 685 on both charts through her new single, "Mood Ring," which is the only song from the album to debut this week. Considering how it's holding up, we'll probably see Jawsh back under the crown next week when he achieves an impressive 52-weeker! - Speaking of 52-weekers, this is the fifty-first week of the Global 200! Next week, we'll be able to inaugurate a couple dozen songs into the exclusive year-long chart club. Since this chart has no recurrency rules, I imagine many songs will still show up on here for the next decade or so. If you want to get a look at what songs will make it into that club come next week, refer to this useful thread. pulsemusic.proboards.com/post/7985518/thread(Yeah that's really all the news this week. Bit slow eh?)

Billboard's two worldwide tallies rank songs based on streaming and sales data from more than 200 territories.
The Kid LAROI and Justin Bieber's "Stay" remains the biggest song in the world, as it spends a sixth week at No. 1 on the Billboard Global 200 chart and a fourth frame atop the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. tally.
Plus, BTS' "Butter," a former Global 200 and Global Excl. U.S. No. 1, rebounds to No. 3 on each chart after the release of its Megan Thee Stallion remix; Kanye West debuts three songs in the Global 200's top 10; and Doja Cat's "Woman" ascends to the Global Excl. U.S. top 10.

'Stay'-tionary Atop Global 200
"Stay" by The Kid LAROI (from Australia) and Justin Bieber (from Canada) adds a sixth week at No. 1 on the Billboard Global 200. The song drew 125.7 million streams and sold 24,700 downloads (up 1% in each metric) worldwide in the Aug. 27-Sept. 2 tracking week.
"Stay" is the second track in 2021 to log as many as four weeks of over 100 million global streams, and the first to do so consecutively, after tallying 124.9 million (Sept. 4), 123.7 million (Aug. 28) and 108.5 million (Aug. 21). It follows BTS' "Butter" (289.5 million, 169.9 million, 120.9 million and 101.7 million; June 5, 12 and 19 and July 3).
Ed Sheeran's "Bad Habits" holds at No. 2 on the Global 200, after a week atop the chart, and BTS' "Butter" rebounds 14-3, up 98% to 77.7 million streams and 466% to 52,900 sold globally. The song resurges following the Aug. 27 release of its remix with Megan Thee Stallion (who is now listed on the song on both global charts as total worldwide activity for the remix outpaced that of the original and other mixes solely by the group in overall metrics during the tracking week). "Butter" led the Global 200 in its first two weeks on the chart (June 5 and 12).
Lil Nas X and Jack Harlow's "Industry Baby" dips to No. 4 on the Global 200 from its No. 3 high, and Kanye West debuts three songs in the chart's top 10: "Hurricane," at No. 5; "Jail," at No. 6; and "Off the Grid," at No. 7, with 52.2 million, 42.7 million and 42 million global streams, respectively.
The tracks from West's new album Donda mark his first Global 200 top 10s, as he becomes the third act to debut three songs on the survey in the top 10 simultaneously, after Drake (March 20) and J. Cole (May 29).
Kanye West Lands 10th No. 1 Album on Billboard 200 Chart With 'Donda'
'Stay' Scores Fourth Week at No. 1 on Global Excl. U.S. Chart
The Kid LAROI and Justin Bieber's "Stay" posts a fourth week atop the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. chart, with 97.7 million streams (up 3%) and 11,600 sold (up 7%) in territories outside the U.S. in the Aug. 27-Sept. 2 tracking week.
Ed Sheeran's "Bad Habits" keeps at No. 2 on the Global Excl. U.S. chart, after five weeks at No. 1; BTS' former five-week leader "Butter" blasts 9-3 (67.2 million streams, up 96%; 24,400 sold, up 377%, outside the U.S.); Lil Nas X and Jack Harlow's "Industry Baby" slips to No. 4 from its No. 3 best; and Måneskin's "Beggin' " drops 4-5, after hitting No. 2.
Plus, Doja Cat's "Woman" jumps 13-8 on the Global Excl. U.S. chart (37.2 million streams, up 12%; 1,100 sold, up 13%, outside the U.S.) She notches her third top 10 on the chart, after "Kiss Me More," featuring SZA, reached No. 5 in May and "Need to Know" rose to No. 10 on the Sept. 4 list. The Billboard Global 200 and Billboard Global Excl. U.S. charts (dated Sept. 11) will update on Billboard.com tomorrow (Sept. 8). Posting later today because of technical difficulties again... but not much is lost! Despite being the landmark FIFTY-SECOND WEEK of the Billboard Global 200, it might also be the least interesting week of them all lol. This is due to Donda pushing everything down and not allowing any new national peaks. Doesn't help that Kanye didn't even credit any of his collaborators on this project (though most of them are Americans anyway) If you want to know which songs made it to the full year on the chart, check out this link! Scroll up a bit to see my post about which countries made it, too. pulsemusic.proboards.com/thread/206871/songs-52-weeks-global-200?page=1&scrollTo=7992573docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1jSdctFcLyQl6HJYoi9Jr2OHFGkn-TBnxWVFNxMlzrto/edit?usp=sharing- Let's see what got pushed down! This will probably stay like this next week because of a certain lover boy... Italy drops out of the top 5 for the first time in months, and Scotland finds itself shoved out of the top 50 entirely, I think for the first time ever. Also a landmark, Germany makes no appearance on the main chart at all! That's another first. After a year of Billboarding, obviously these songs are just taking a break til they inevitably bounce back in two weeks. - There is some news specific to the September 11th week, which is also certainly a notable week for the 52 week mark to land exactly on. The "Butter" remix becomes the highest charting American song for this week because of Megan Thee Houstonian, though it will probably go to someone else next week. As predicted, Jawsh 685 takes the New Zealand leader title back from Lorde for a second time. Speaking of second times, David Guetta once again overtakes himself for French leader here, this time with his collab with Becky Hill. John Amplificado, with only one song on Spotify somehow, becomes Brazilian leader. This is the third top Brazilian song to be a live performance! Palestine also makes a small comeback to both charts through Belly. Here's to another fun year for the Global 200!

The Kid LAROI and Justin Bieber's "Stay" is again the biggest song in the world, as it posts a seventh week at No. 1 on the Billboard Global 200 chart and a fifth frame atop the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. list.
Meanwhile, Drake claims a weekly-record eight songs in the Global 200's top 10, all debuts from his new album Certified Lover Boy, led by "Way 2 Sexy," featuring Future and Young Thug, at No. 2. Drake also sends three songs from the set into the Global Excl. U.S. top 10.
Billboard's two global charts (the latest of which are dated Sept. 18) began in September 2020 and rank songs based on streaming and sales activity culled from more than 200 territories around the world, as compiled by MRC Data. 'Stay' No. 1, Drake Has 8 in Top 10 on Global 200
"Stay" by The Kid LAROI, from Australia, and Justin Bieber, from Canada, notches a seventh week at No. 1 on the Billboard Global 200. The song drew 119.8 million streams and sold 23,400 downloads (down 5% in each metric) worldwide in the Sept. 3-9 tracking week.

And on our first week of the second year of the Global 200, we have another slow news day as Drake's giant album bomb prevents any new peaks for any country, even his homeland of Canada. He didn't actually reach #1 surprisingly. Still, there's some cool news regarding the stuff from this week! docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1jSdctFcLyQl6HJYoi9Jr2OHFGkn-TBnxWVFNxMlzrto/edit?usp=sharing- Just a sidenote, but "Gangsta's Paradise" reached a new peak in the bottom half of both charts despite the album bombs. What's up with that? TikTok or something? - The news here will only be specific to the September 18 week, and we'll start with the USA, where Future and Young Thug now lead for the main chart and Lil Nas X and Jack Harlow are back on top for the Excl. US chart. Lots of rap winning these days, eh? - Because of certain infamous revelations from a couple years ago, 21 Savage is leading for the UK on the main chart this week on a Drake song. That'll certainly go back to Ed Sheeran next week and stay that way for a looooong time as his album drop gets nearer and nearer. - Tems overtakes herself for Nigerian leader this week! It's on a Drake song, of course, but she's definitely growing Nigeria's name in music these past months. - Tiësto's "The Business" has finally been dethroned from the top Dutch song, but it's not from Duncan Laurence like I expected. No, he's climbed over himself with his new Karol G collab. - Not surprising, but Sweden has a new leader on the chart. ABBA hops atop Galantis with both of their new singles being the highest non-Drake debuts this week. "Dancing Queen" even shows up near the bottom of both charts, too. - I never thought we'd see this song again... but "Friday" has collapsed too hard, and that means that Lewis Capaldi's "Someone You Loved" is the Scottish leader this week, something we haven't seen since before "Wellerman" blew up.

Billboard's two worldwide tallies rank songs based on streaming and sales data from more than 200 territories.
Updated at 3:40 p.m. ET to reflect LISA's correct chart history.
The Kid LAROI and Justin Bieber's "Stay" remains the biggest song in the world, as it logs an eighth week at No. 1 on the Billboard Global 200 chart and a sixth week atop the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. survey.
Meanwhile, three songs enter the top 10 of each global tally: BLACKPINK member LISA's "Lalisa," Ed Sheeran's "Shivers" and Glass Animals' "Heat Waves."
Billboard's two global charts (the latest of which are dated Sept. 25) began in September 2020 and rank songs based on streaming and sales activity culled from more than 200 territories around the world, as compiled by MRC Data.
'Stay' No. 1, LISA & Ed Sheeran Start in Top 10, Glass Animals 'Heat' Up
"Stay" by The Kid LAROI, from Australia, and Justin Bieber, from Canada, posts an eighth week at No. 1 on the Billboard Global 200. The song drew 115.7 million streams (down 3%) and sold 23,400 downloads (essentially even week-over-week) worldwide in the Sept. 10-16 tracking week.
"Stay," already the first track in 2021 to log as many as five weeks of over 100 million global streams, extends its run to six such frames, after tallying 119.8 million (Sept. 18), 125.7 million (Sept. 11), 124.9 million (Sept. 4), 123.7 million (Aug. 28) and 108.5 million (Aug. 21).
LISA launches at No. 2 on the Global 200 with "Lalisa," her first entry on the chart. South Korea's BLACKPINK, with LISA, born in Thailand, as a member, has reached Nos. 8 and 2 highs on the survey, with, respectively, "Ice Cream," with Selena Gomez, in September 2020 and "Lovesick Girls" the following month.
Ed Sheeran's "Bad Habits" rebounds from No. 7 to No. 3 on the Global 200, after spending a week atop the chart; Drake's "Way 2 Sexy," featuring Future and Young Thug, drops to No. 4, a week after debuting at No. 2 (as Drake claimed a one-week record eight songs in the top 10); and Lil Nas X and Jack Harlow's "Industry Baby" climbs 13-5, after reaching No. 3.
Elsewhere in the Global 200's top bracket, Sheeran's "Shivers" debuts at No. 7, marking his second top 10. Both "Bad Habits" and "Shivers" are from the English singer-songwriter's album =, due Oct. 29.
Additionally in the Global 200 top 10, Glass Animals reach the region for the first time with "Heat Waves," which, jumping 20-9, completes the lengthiest ascent to the tier: at 37 weeks, it passes the 24-week rise of The Kid LAROI and Bieber's "Stay." "Heat Waves" remains viral on TikTok, with an added boost from the #allithinkaboutisyou trend on the platform, playing off the song's lyrical hook. The trend has surged since late August, translating to over 300 million views to-date, including a clip from the English band itself.
'Stay,' 'Lalisa,' 'Shivers' & 'Heat Waves' Also Strong Outside U.S.
The Kid LAROI and Justin Bieber's "Stay" adds a sixth week atop the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. chart, with 91 million streams and 11,200 sold (down 3% in each metric) in territories outside the U.S. in the Sept. 10-16 tracking week.
As on the Global 200, LISA's "Lalisa" debuts at No. 2 on the Global Excl. U.S. chart. She scores her first entry on the latter list; BLACKPINK's "Ice Cream" hit No. 6 on the Global Excl. U.S. chart and "Lovesick Girls" led for a week.
Ed Sheeran's "Bad Habits" retreats 2-3 on the Global Excl. U.S. ranking, after five weeks at No. 1; Lil Nas X and Jack Harlow's "Industry Baby" backtracks to No. 4 from its No. 3 high; and Sheeran's "Shivers" enters at No. 5, becoming his third top 10.
Further in the Global Excl. U.S. chart's top 10, Glass Animals' "Heat Waves," their first top 10, sizzles 15-10. The Billboard Global 200 and Billboard Global Excl. U.S. charts (dated Sept. 25) will update on Billboard.com tomorrow (Sept. 14). For both charts, the top 100 titles are available to all readers on Billboard.com, while the complete 200-title rankings are visible on Billboard Pro, Billboard's subscription-based service. For all chart news, you can follow billboard and billboardcharts on both Twitter and Instagram.

hah looks like they fixed the article already. For those who missed it, that article mistook Lisa for LiSA, the Japanese singer who had that huge Homura song last year, and combined their chart histories when talking about Lalisa.

For this week's update from Khan, as the album bombs finally end, we finally get some actual news for the shifting ranks on the global charts! docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1jSdctFcLyQl6HJYoi9Jr2OHFGkn-TBnxWVFNxMlzrto/edit?usp=sharing- We have another rare case of a nation matching a peak. Thailand now has two #2 hits on the main chart, as "Lalisa" and "Lovesick Girls" are both representing it through Lisa. (Who is NOT a Japanese singer, Billboard...) On the Excl. US chart, "Lovesick Girls" previously hit #1 so Lisa just barely misses out on matching it there. - One other new peak this week, and it comes courtesy of the Excl. US chart. "Edamame" features Indonesian rapper Rich Brian, which just edges out the previous record-holder Pamungkas for a new Indonesian high. Considering how big Rich Brian is, this was really only a matter of time. - The rest of the news here is specific to the movements of September 25th, but there's a lot due to the album bombs giving way for everyone else. Because of his new album, J Balvin overcomes himself for Colombian leader, and he even helps Sech overcome *him*self for Panamanian leader lower down on the chart. A super viral song "Love Nwantiti" by Nigerian artist CKay has launched into a near top 20 debut on both charts, making him the crown wearer for Nigeria this week, which Tems had been holding for a while. There's so many remixes of this song going around at about equal popularity so I hope it settles down soon so i know who to credit on my chart here heh. Belgium finally shows up again on the main chart again now that a Lost Frequencies song has crossed over from the Excl. US chart. Same thing with Austria and Germany through a collaboration between Austrian RAF Camora and German Luciano. Finally, Russia makes a long awaited comeback on the Excl. US chart through Instasamka.

A year after the launch of the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. and Billboard Global 200 charts, we may have found the most global hit yet. Nigeria's CKay debuts on both lists at Nos. 21 and 30, respectively, with "Love Nwantiti (Ah Ah Ah)."
The Afrobeat sleeper hit drew 27.8 million streams and sold 1,200 downloads worldwide in the week ending Sept. 16, up 257% and 404%, respectively, according to MRC Data. The bursts follow two years of buzzing interest on the back of several international collaborations and remixes.
Since its arrival on CKay's set CKay the First in August 2019, the song has flown around the world and back, with official North African, East African and South African remixes, plus versions in German, French, Spanish and Italian, all featuring collaborators from each corresponding region or country.
"Love Nwantiti" follows a similar path to wide global exposure as another recent breakthrough by two Nigerian acts. Wizkid's "Essence" debuted on the Global 200 in July, with a feature by Tems. With radio airplay steadily rising, a new version sporting a verse from Justin Bieber shot it further up the chart (to No. 28 in late August) and led to a debut on the Global Excl. U.S. chart in August.
But while Wizkid has focused on one remix featuring an international superstar, CKay has made his play for worldwide success by deploying multiple regional acts to infiltrate global audiences, one corner of the world at a time. Plus, a slew of dancers and choreographers have taken to "Love Nwantiti" on TikTok.
Streams and sales in the latest tracking week for "Love Nwantiti" skew 86% and 79% outside the United States, respectively, compared to averages of 26% and 46% for all titles, with its barrage of international remixes providing perhaps the easiest explanation for its reach.
A larger stateside crossover could be ahead for CKay. While only 14% of the song's global streams in the latest tracking frame were from America, far below the week's average, the share has crept from 11% a week ago and 10% the week before.

Billboard's two worldwide tallies rank songs based on streaming and sales data from more than 200 territories.
The Kid LAROI and Justin Bieber's "Stay" is again the biggest song in the world, as it tallies a ninth week at No. 1 on the Billboard Global 200 chart and a seventh frame atop the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. survey.
Meanwhile, two songs enter the top 10 of each global chart for the first time: Lil Nas X's "Thats What I Want" and CKay's "Love Nwantiti (Ah Ah Ah)."
Billboard's two global charts (the latest of which are dated Oct. 2) began in September 2020 and rank songs based on streaming and sales activity culled from more than 200 territories around the world, as compiled by MRC Data.
'Stay' No. 1, Lil Nas X Launches in Top 10 on Global 200
"Stay" by The Kid LAROI, from Australia, and Justin Bieber, from Canada, logs a ninth week at No. 1 on the Billboard Global 200. The song drew 115.6 million streams (essentially even week-over-week) and sold 20,600 downloads (down 12%) worldwide in the Sept. 17-23 tracking week.
"Stay" extends its record run on the chart to seven straight weeks of over 100 million global streams, after tallying 115.7 million (Sept. 25), 119.8 million (Sept. 18), 125.7 million (Sept. 11), 124.9 million (Sept. 4), 123.7 million (Aug. 28) and 108.5 million (Aug. 21).
Lil Nas X boasts three songs in the Global 200's top 10, all from his new album Montero, released Sept. 17. "Industry Baby," with Jack Harlow, jumps from No. 3 to a new No. 2 high; "Thats What I Want" debuts at No. 4; and "Montero (Call Me by Your Name)" rebounds 21-9, after topping the chart for five weeks in April-May. The songs drew 91.3 million (up 24%), 63.1 million and 50.3 million (up 33%) streams worldwide, respectively, in the tracking week.
Rounding out the Global 200's top five, Ed Sheeran's "Bad Habits" keeps at No. 3, after spending a week atop the chart in July, and Drake's "Way 2 Sexy," featuring Future and Young Thug, drops 4-5, two weeks after debuting at No. 2 (when Drake claimed a one-week record eight songs in the top 10).
Elsewhere in the Global 200's top 10, "Love Nwantiti (Ah Ah Ah)" by CKay, from Nigeria, surges from No. 30, where it debuted a week earlier, to No. 8, up 82% to 50.6 million streams and 121% to 2,600 sold worldwide. The Afrobeat hit was originally released on CKay's set CKay the First in August 2019 and has since padded its profile thanks to official North African, East African and South African remixes, plus versions in German, French, Spanish and Italian, all featuring collaborators from each corresponding region or country.
'Stay' Stays at No. 1 Outside U.S., 'Love' Leaps
The Kid LAROI and Justin Bieber's "Stay" scores a seventh week atop the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. chart, with 91.5 million streams (up 1%) and 10,100 sold (down 10%) in territories outside the U.S. in the Sept. 17-23 tracking week.
Lil Nas X and Jack Harlow's "Industry Baby" rises 3-2 for a new Global Excl. U.S. best (63 million streams, up 19%, outside the U.S.); Ed Sheeran's "Bad Habits" keeps at No. 3, after five weeks at No. 1; CKay's "Love Nwantiti (Ah Ah Ah)" soars from its No. 21 debut rank to No. 4 (42.9 million, up 80%); and Sheeran's "Shivers" is frozen at No. 5, where it debuted a week earlier.
Further in the Global Excl. U.S. chart's top 10, Lil Nas X's "Thats What I Want" debuts at No. 8, led by 39.6 million streams beyond the U.S. The Billboard Global 200 and Billboard Global Excl.
