Top 30 on Alternative: 46 30 FOO FIGHTERS Waiting On A War 574 181 393 1.597 Surprised this is moving up this fast If the listener reception really is "Times Like These part 2" it shouldn't be that shocking. The vintage Foo Fighters sound has aged gracefully and people still like it. Even Entercom doesn't seem inclined to completely block this one like the company did with "Shame Shame".

Getting close to passing Shame Shame on alt, which is a good sign.

This has actually grown on me. I still think the 0 to 100 buildup is wtf but I like the strings in the first half of the song.

i listened to the first 2/3 of the album and this is probably the song that stuck out to me the most, so i guess that's not a bad sign. that said, i echo the sentiment of this getting pretty repetitive and also being a weird choice for radio? i probably would've gone with making a fire personally, although this is already off to a better start then i thought it would be so i suppose they seem to know what they're doing

I'm not sure if the title track would fit on any radio station but man it would be awesome and totally out of left field if they release that groovy jam as the 3rd single. Of course, it'd go to AAA and Alt but not Active.

No Son Of Mine is...OK, but I LOVE this album (and Waiting On A War). Greg Kurstin is a great producer. I absolutely LOVE Tracks 1-6.
1. Shame Shame 2. Medicine At Midnight 3. Waiting On A War 4. Cloudspotter 5. Chasing Birds 6. Love Dies Young 7. Making A Fire 8. Holding Poison 9. No Son Of Mine

#1 on AAA:
3 1 FOO FIGHTERS Waiting On A War 655 655 0 1.017
Probably an MB only #1 again since Weezer is ahead of them on Billboard.

A combination of Alternatives heavying this early (which means they burned this song out fast) and Audacy refusing to budge means this song has hit the end of the road on Alternative. It got a bit further than "Shame Shame" but that's the best it could do.

“Making A Fire” for next single? I could see that, "Cloudspotter", or the title track all being the 3rd single. We'll see what they go with. I know there's a contingent who want "No Son Of Mine" but I don't see that happening unless they do a split single strategy.

Well, guys...
I don't see an adds date on such, and with "Waiting On A War" plummeting like a rock on Alternative and falling on Adult Alt. and Rock...should we begin speculating on a third (radio) single?
"Making A Fire" could catch on at multiple formats...or they could try targeting each format separately with this masterpiece of an album (their best yet? I think their second is one of a kind but...)
"No Son Of Mine" at Active; title track to Alternative, ??? to Adult..., for example.

Making A Fire, Cloudspotter, or Medicine At Midnight are all solid choices for the next single.

fwiw "Making a Fire" was included on the soundtrack for MLB The Show 21. And yeah, agreed on those three being the most obvious singles left from the album.

I'm starting to think that they're trying to keep this one hanging on for 20 weeks on Alt and Active. Rise Against's "The Violence" pulled off the feat and sees gold play on both formats despite a lower peak on both formats. Foo Fighters' Concrete and Gold singles fell off quickly and were forgotten in comparison.
We may not see a single #3 announcement until Waiting On A War makes it to its 20th week.
