What are some instantly recognizable looks for popular artists, which are often replicated on mainstream media and used as reference for figurines and costumes?
I'm talking about Freddie Mercury's yellow jacket, Britney Spears' school girl outfit from "...Baby One More Time", Lady Gaga's VMAs meat dress, and Prince's purple jacket and frilly shirt from the "Purple Rain" era.
Also, in your opinion, which outfits from current artists have the potential to become signature looks in the future?
I've seen Billie Eilish's all-white outfit with the dark blue hair from the "when the party's over" music video sticking as a strong visual cue for her, but it could change over the course of her career.

Whitney Houston and her How Will I Know outfit and the bow.

Private Dancer I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who associates Whitney Houston with her lovely look from "How Will I Know". It's so quintessentially 80s, and it encompasses the bright feel-good energy of her uptempos. The choices for Michael, Janet, and Madonna are probably the definitive ones (with honorable mentions to the "Smooth Criminal" look and the golden conical corset), and I'm surprised Funko Pop has yet to make any of these. Speaking of Funko Pop, which was my inspiration for this post, they did one for TLC featuring their outfits from the "Waterfalls" music video, which was a surprising choice. Personally, I associate them with the "No Scrubs" looks.

Also, I'd say the top 3 signature Beyoncé looks are, in chronological order:
1. The white/silver top + shorts from the "Crazy In Love" music video. Incredible how she made such a simple outfit so iconic.
2. The black leotard with the metallic glove from the "Single Ladies" music video - the one I personally associate her most with.
3. The yellow sweater + shorts combo from Beychella
Honorable mention to the yellow dress from the "Hold Up" music video.

TLC is one of those groups that have many outfits. TLC has many iconic outfits. |

I think both will hold up on their own - one representing the R&B innovator and the other representing the exciting pop star with ambitious visuals. |

Kanye - the white shutter shades immediately come to mind
Cardi - it's a bit hard to pin down one outfit cause she has a lot of good ones but I think the pink outfit in WAP (although if her costumes for WAP could be her look)
Bruno - the red shorts and polo with the 24K baseball cap and if not that, then his pink suit from Uptown Funk whenever he brings that out
Danny Brown - the frizzed out hair with the tooth gap
Billie - I think the her green hair and baggy clothes are her signature look
