Cardi's Visuals be on point tho. The song is alright I think it'll take a couple of listens for me to get into it like WAP.

Was curious what the radio edit would be like, it's not a 'wet and gushy' level change but at least its something for the radio to work with. Also that abrupt ending better be in service of a transition on the album or something the song sounds unfinished.
That being said I love this nasty punchliney Cardi, shame this penny means no clubs to throw it back in a circle to and it'll undoubtedly do worse than WAP because of the lack of conservative media outrage for example but still very excited to see both this and driver's license's numbers tomorrow!

I like the new Cardi track and G-eazy x Chris brown track is 50/50. Has anyone listened to Hayley William's album?

I like how 'The Highlights' just becomes progressively darker as you go through the track list. A nice touch that I really appreciate!

Thereβs like some weird noise in that new Cardi song that I just canβt stand, I have no idea what it is, but I just canβt.

I get the sentiment of this tweet, but huh? Are male rappers meant to do choreographed dance sequences in their videos, too? And don't male rappers thoroughly dominate over female rappers when it comes to streams, sales and hits? I dig the idea behind it, but the tweet was probably best left in the head of whoever posted it.

Up is a bop and Cardi is rapping her ass off throughout the song. I love that she isn't scared to drop hard-hitting rap cuts as singles every now and then. They're always dope.
My only criticism is I think the production of the song is reductive of things she's done before (along with Megan Thee Stallion who has used production that sounds exactly like that many times before) but it works so I guess it's okay.

Not everything I say is about Drake, stop making this about him I already said that I understood the sentiment behind the tweet (and I agree with it btw because with the exception of Morgan Wallen, women across pop, rap and r&b have been the ones killing sh*t so far this year) but the tweet specifically mentioned choreography, which is why I asked if male rappers were now expected to do choreographed dance routines to keep up with the women. Male rappers hardly ever go all out in their music videos except they rock a bunch of expensive jewelry/clothes and surround themselves with good-looking women. That's been the go-to for male rap videos for over 30 years now, lol. Like you said, there are very few truly creative rap videos by male acts released every year, while the women go all out with their visuals and performances. Like I said, the tweet sounds a lot better in one's head than it does saying it out loud because unfortunately, looks and serves aren't what the industry uses to determine who ran the year or not.

rly like hayley's solo work but i'm sad that there won't be any impact on the charts :( Thankfully, icons like Hayley have never really needed the charts to be impactful/influential. I wish some of her music would also see success on the charts because it's so good but just knowing she's still releasing great music this far into her career is a good compensation for me.
